Stumbled onto this recipe and as a beginner to the pellet grill world, I was impressed by the simplicity. We ended up with a chuck roast a tad smaller then yours but the taste was absolutely amazing. Holy doodle. Thank you ever so much. Loved it!! The great beauty to this was the simplicity. Just ingredients we find in the kitchen. OMG....not Bills rub, or Jacks rub, or Tom's sauce.....as I'm just getting into the pellet grill world I get increasingly frustrated with what seems like every male name having a sauce, or a rub, or both. After spending hundreds of dollars on a grill, it's very frustrating to get into recipes where you need all these different rubs and sauces that makes me want to scream a four letter word that rhymes with TRUCK. Loved this chuck roast recipe. Thank you

CTO gets heat from propane and smoke from whatever you put in basket?...can you put wood or charcoal in basket for heat instead of propane?
@AshKickinBBQ4 күн бұрын
@@dennis9358 that’s not entirely true. The CTO is capable of using the propane to ignite a basket of charcoal or wood. Or you can utilize it like in this video with some propane and wood. However, you can just fill the basket up with coal and wood chunks and still use the convection fan to control the temperature to its set point etc. Or, you can fill up the basket with charcoal and wood chunks, and use the propane for ignition, and then utilize the add on comp switch to turn off the propane and strictly run off the coal and wood chunks.

I am ready to buy on of these but I’m stuck on “how to transport it.” Does anybody know of an Off Road type of cart? If not Ole Hickory needs to come up with one with tie downs to be able to roll it on and off a box trailer.
@AshKickinBBQ4 күн бұрын
@@patrickroark3278 there are plenty of places to tie it down. And I’ve unloaded it and loaded it multiple times in my trailer. At 680lbs, it’s not easy, but definitely doable with another person.
