who is the most underrated player on the mavericks?

gafford or dinwiddie. i think they are better players than people think. gafford has great hands for a big man and dinwiddie is playing so low down the roster he looks like kobe.

I think they already proved they can in the playoffs. And klay and Luka proved they can in the finals. It’s just a matter if kyrie will show up in the championship because he disappeared last year and I’m sure it’s gonna be against Boston again if Dallas does make it.

Luka literally is a once in a lifetime playmaker, he should not be taken for granted.
@runthenumbers96989 сағат бұрын
This isn't the stuff that makes CHAMPIONSHIPS. This is the stuff that makes DYNASTIES! People are talking about that we got Klay Thompson, but it's more important HOW we got Klay Thompson. Klay Thompson came here... BECAUSE he saw us in the Finals and thought he was just what we needed. THAT is what's going to not only PUT us in contention, but KEEP us in contention. For the first time in a long time... the Dallas Mavericks are an IN DEMAND DESTINATION. If we make it deep into the Playoffs, there WILL be other players who want to join the Mavericks because they want to play with Luka and get the easiest 3's in the game. That means we have BARGAINING LEVERAGE with free agents now, and that's a gift that keeps on giving. We save money, and we either gain a very useful asset or a very tradeable asset. The NBA ecosystem always has buyers and sellers. The California teams always pay pittance for their talent while teams like the Hornets are forever on their knees for talent. Even if the Hornets draft someone great, it will just be a countdown until they have to trade them for picks. Dallas has always been in the middle. Not a destination by any means... but a good culture and a tax free state... we have paid market value for a while now. This run to the Finals has put us in the destination discussion for A LOT of quality role-players, Klay being one of them. There's yin and yang to this though. The good aspect is, a lot of players want to be here and will take team-friendly contracts to be here. The bad aspect is... if we want to max out that benefit, we must trade players during the season for expiring contracts. We might have to one day make a trade full of players we like on good contracts for a great player that fits our system. Like... what if next year, Jimmy Butler wants to come here and he's willing to take 30. Do we sign and trade Lively and/or Klay to make that happen? Anyway, it's a good problem to have. We're quite a bit deeper than is optimal for the Playoffs, and we need to be looking at deep runs from now on. That means... some of our favorite guys are going to have to go at some point.

Klay is the most underrated. Too many analysts said it was a bad fit because he wouldn’t be moving around enough. Amazing
@Velveteenvision10 сағат бұрын
Underrated? Everyone is saying good stuff about him non stop now. All I see is how great he and Luka are as a duo.. people are even saying he’s the second best player on the team now (don’t agree but whatever) .. he’s getting more attention praise and recognition than anyone on the team haha

@Velveteenvision Yeah because he's proving to be a great addition and the critics are eating their words
@Tburge2127 сағат бұрын
Did anyone really say he wasn't moving around enough? The whole reason Golden State's offense worked is because of how much Klay and Staph moved offball and most analysts I listen to made a point to point that out for years

The hood thing about a 3 rd scorer is the 3rd scorer DOESNT have to be the 3rd scorer all the time. This team is so deep that when klay has an off game, other players like pj/gaford/lively can step up and replace those points. This team has proven how tough it will be to defeat them. This team has had 1 good luka game and are 3-1. They have too many players who can step up and sore when needed so as long as they’re cliccing then they’ll be hard to stop. Not to mention they had an amazing defense last year and have clearly added on to it . I can’t wait to play the thunder because the way they stopped wemby and the way lively has outplayed both wemby and Chet in every meeting is gonna be special.

I swear we would be SOOO much better if luka would play like he did last year and look to playmake and involve klay and grimes a bit more in the offense, his mind never registers that its just not his night and he just keeps chucking up shots when he isn't being efficient that night 😭😭

@ BELIEVE ME, I KNOW THAT, but I wish we could have a little bit more ball movement like the Celtics, I swear I saw back to back ISO’s from Luka and Kyrie (which I know aren’t THAT bad), but we should definitely get guys like grimes and Klay more offensively involved earlier 😭😭

Luka has had arguably his worst start to a season efficiency wise in his career so far and they are still 3-1 with a great win against the wolves. The scary part is they arent even close to there best yet because we all know luka will be back to being luka in no time. Old mavs teams would have had a loosing record with the efficiency luka has right now. It's going to hopefully be a really fun season to watch as a mavs fan with this team once the chemistry clicks

dalles big were grate again they kick the shit out of rudy and because of him they can just load up the paint on defence and force ant in to a jump shooter until they can fix the rudy problem they wont beat dalles they win games but in the play offs they are going to be beat every time no matter how good ant players. Klay didn't get to many shots because dalles when back to there 4 out 1 in that works so well against them but the 5 out concepts they have been using look clunky at times and that to be expected. if they can get the defence right they can make it back to the finals the problem is Boston they will beat dalles again in my opinion but any other team from the east then i would back dalles. Also Boston would beat any team that not OKC soundly from the west.

Suns didn't guard particularly well that game it was more that kyrie and PJ had an off nights. The process of our offense was totally fine and we were generating the same open looks we always do but guys couldn't hit open shots. That's not a result of good defense that's just bad shot variance which is expected to happen in an eventual 82 game sample size. It was just a down shooting game not some defensive master class by the suns
