This is the same problem I've been having for the last several years. From about 16 years old onwards (college) I was on the 'right' of politics, as I really didn't like some of the mindless rhetoric coming from my liberal peers; and I could see the danger and dysfunction coming from a mile. But probably over the last 3-4 years I have moved away from the right and am far more center. Almost directly because I belong to the 'rainbow' demographic (I've never pushed the rainbow in my entire life just to clarify, I've just been living as an individual). The hard truth that I've had to accept is that to the 'right' I will always be 'rainbow' and they will always try to 'other' me in my own homeland and ancestral/cultural inheritance. So for me now it's like a pick your poison scenario. Do I more value my individual liberty, freedom, and right to partake in society (and the liberties and freedoms of LGBT people as a whole) -- or do I more value my liberty and freedom FROM hostile foreign ideologies / cultures that are very medieval in nature. For that reason I still vote 'right' - but I no longer support the right-wing media figures and organisations, who have waged a relentless smear campaign on my entire demographic using every dysfunctional individual they can find to prove their point (in other words, a smear campaign against me as an individual). And then on top of that I support a united Europe (military, economy, and industry). But I will admit I have major faults with the EU in how it currently operates - so I just didn't vote in the Brexit referendum. I regret that now but my opinion was less informed at the time.

The secular laws of the land supersedes anything cultural or religious. The respect for these laws is what allows the co-existence of multiple cultures in a single area.
@Castor-wi2im4 ай бұрын
The hard truth leftists have to face is, left wing ideas on immigration and multiculturalism simply aren't popular with large numbers of the public if not the majority. Especially not the native population. You can call it 'racist', talk about economic anxiety, blame it on all the failures of neoliberalism, hate spreading on social media etc etc but at the end of the day we live in a democracy and the voters just aren't buying what you're selling when it comes to this issue. Bottom line.
@camden_964 ай бұрын
@@cybrfriends5089 The problem is the assumption as a Westerner, that people raised in foreign nations and/or cultures/religions - actually care about adhering to secular law. At the point they have decided that their 'higher judge' would pardon or even praise breaking those laws - as a victim of that decision the damage has already been done; regardless of any justice served thereafter. Besides that, it does not make for a pleasant, comfortable, stable, or fair quality of life when you are consistently at the mercy of aggressive stares, or being followed and verbally harassed, remaining just that - and not progressing into something more sinister; on your ancestral soil no less. Just because the law can theoretically provide a framework for several totally opposing cultures to exist in one place, it doesn't mean it SHOULD be done. Especially in the case where you are importing those conflicting cultures from foreign lands and ideologies/worldviews; they should have no right to travel across the world to intentionally make the lives of the native population they arrive in uncomfortable or unsafe - they should be deported at that point, and if not, then the native population needs to be allowed the tools to protect their own wellbeing in the unsafe/unstable enviroment that the government have allowed to manifest by lack of action, and failing to protect the people under their charge.

But in the regions that are diverse, the smaller, ethnic German population, even if they were to support AfD a 100%, would still fail to get this party into power. 01:32 Tnx for posting this clip of Mrs. Weidel. Already in 2018(!) she was correctly pointing out the most pressing issues, which have only become worse and worse ever since. Credit where credit is due.

The thing is I think that the guardian is actually confused that AFD has been voted in, absolutely no idea of what’s going on, on ground level, the people are sick of your narrative and put up with it for two decades too long !

Government infighting, declining economic fortunes, record immigration and raging war on the continent has made people restless, angry and frustrated. Failure of the centrist coalition regimes is laying the political mood for a strong but extremist clear but divisive forces.

It is, but for these lying media like “Spiegel”, “ZDF” or “ARD” they are extreme. People, we who live here in Germany, don't feel like doing that anymore. The state media here in Germany are unscrupulous liars who play you for a fool. That is not acceptable and the shift to the right must now strengthen otherwise these lies and the destabilization of Germany and thus Europe will stop.
