LOVE the point about the first 3 seasons being pretty much the same as the movies, I made me realize all my excitement about seeing left out scenes is for like book 5 and beyond and I don't know if I'm still going to be excited five years from now 😭with the first three seasons not having much to add and not having the nostalgia of the movies to support it and hold our interest, I can't imagine the early seasons are going to be able to compare or have much hold for us

I really think it would be incredibly cool if this series was animated. It would allow for less restrictive casting and some very creative visuals. There are numerous possibilities with a show like this. And even if it is in live action, it needs to be extremely visually different than the movies. Hogwarts can still be a castle, the characters can look similar, but it still needs to be distinct from the movies. I hope they make some significant changes, not necessarily to the story, but to the overall vibe.

The one strong point I see in a tv show is the ability to follow the story from the perspective of other characters. Which we don't see in the books because they are told from Harry's point of view. How does Hermione adapt to living in the wizzaring world? Does she study all the time to proove she deserves to be there? How does Ron feel about living with his brothers again? What do the twins get up to? Do Neville, Shamus and Dean have a life? A tv show can do so much for secondary characters, like True Blood or Game of Thrones did

Dude no. They cannot make spin offs of Harry Potter, it's in the contract with Jo Rowling. They can only make adaptations of her work, that's why she was the screenwriter of Fantastic Beasts. There actually were quite a few things left out of the first three movies, enough to set the series apart from the movies. Like, Harry having to go back to the Dursleys for a month after going to Diagon Alley for the first time or Hermione solving the potions riddle in the first novel. Or the Dursleys feeding Harry through a cat flap and the twins breaking into the cupboard under the stairs, the time spent at the Burrow, Degnoming, the list goes on. This also can be a chance to change Ron from being a stupid side kick into the character he is in the books. No giving Hermione all the exposition!

I really, really would want, IF they do this, to make it an animated series, instead of "real-life". Imagine the beautiful colours, how beautiful they could make the characters, spells, backgrounds, ... if they're not restricted to actors but can go all out with animation!

Actually the characters of Ron and Ginny were changed quite a bit from the books. If the series gives us the smarter Ron or the badass Ginny from the books it's worth it.

If theyre gonna make a remake this early they may as well make in animated in the style of 90s Berserk or Netflix Castlevania or whatnot. We've seen live action harry potter 12 years ago. It's fresh in the mind. As least animation would change the aesthetic so it's not a pale imitation of the movies and would fix a decent amount of issues a live action series would have. HBO did Spawn which is great. But no. We get this. Book loyalists gonna realize that being more faithful doesnt mean better. Just look at the Shining

This reboot is just silly and un- needed if it's going to be about the golden trio. Having it span over 10 years is ridiculous. I would watch if it's about the marauders, or covers more of voldemort's stories, would LOVE something about the founders, even more on Dumbledore. But they probably won't do that. This makes me so mad that fantastic beasts failed. Ik they’re not perfect but I’d call the first a 8.5 and the second a 8. The third is weak probably like a 6 at best but still I’d like to see the finale. More importantly, if they had succeeded the future of the wizarding world would be better. Now they don’t trust deviating from the specific story of Harry. So not only will we probably not get anything other than the story we’ve already seen but the idea of getting more adult wizarding stories is probably totally dead. I have very little interest in seeing the same story again and there’s so much potential in that world. Just sucks, if these remake fails the wizarding world could die when it comes to films/shows. Luckily, as long as WB doesn’t destroy it by making it a live service, we have Hogwarts Legacy. Ik the story wasn’t amazing but I consider the game great just as a game and as a wizarding world experience

Considering Cursed Play I am worried about what woke she will allow that changes things unnecessarily and or detracts from them. With it being HBO they should've done the founders days in the wizarding world war against the Muggles. I keep saying it would be their HP GOT and it hasn't been done before. Seeing Hogwarts being built and the personal histories of each Founder...I'd like that. A series is different than movie reboots, sure, but it's a little too soon. Fantastic Beasts could've been good, so good, but it wasn't. It should've been about Grindelwald, not Dumbledore, and would've been better if they were shown as not even friends, come on. Had Gellert's character been shown peroperly, sorta as in Hallows, more wild and full of fire to draw the followers he had, it could've been great. I don't want to hear another mofo say "But why? This is stupid". The movies fucked up so much about the books! They are not "masterpieces" like how some say. They are not "perfect". If this reboot is a photo realistic ANIMATED show (I don't want a bad live action cast), the characters can actually LOOK AND ACT like the characters from the books. This can open so many normies' eyes who only have watched the movies and don't know any better about the wholesome story events and character arcs that were butchered in the films or not included.
