lol.. she has 3 phases so you can kill her 2 times that way and she will always comeback. Her 3rd phase is one of the hardest bosses in video games. The infected bloodmother looks like it's infected with the cordyceps virus which is possible since the cordyceps can only infect insects at the moment in real life (Yes, the infection from The Last Of Us is a real infection) which I think is interesting

It's a fungus actually, not a virus. This is important because not only does it mean that proper immunity is extremely difficult to establish for fungal infections, it also means it adapts more readily to environmental changes, as fungus live at least partly externally, while bacteria and viruses care almost exclusively about living inside their host. As a result of this environmental sensitivity, Cordyceps has in fact been reacting to increasing global temperatures and seems to be expanding from arthropods in influence (yes, just like they said at the start of the show, it's kind of crazy).
