Quick question- in Christianity the conscience appears to be tied to the 10 commandments. But surely other religions also have a form of explanation for our conscience as well? It would be good to know what that is to enable us to better understand and have an answer to those from other religions

That's a great question! We invite you to call in to our weekly broadcast to ask Greg your question. He'd love to hear from you. Or you can submit an #STRask or Open Mic question. Visit www.str.org/broadcast for details.

Please pray for my earthly father, he is living far from God

Sure but by the time Jesus came there were a core group of nations at least. When God planned it there probably wasn’t. A better question might be why did Jesus only appear to the Jews? Incidentally most people i met in China dont have any real concept of sin- yet they have law courts to bring justice

If you study Jesus' genealogy you will find non Jews like Ruth in it. Today there are African Jews. Race and religion are two separate things. Nations through history rise and fall within just a generation or two; they have very little to do with race or religion. So to combine race and religion and nationality together as if they are an integral part of each other is a fairly simplistic and reductionist way of thinking. If you believe Jesus, the Holy Ghost and the Father are all part of one infinite being that created the entire universe, then you must believe that this is far beyond any specific race or nation.

The real problem is why God seems to exhibit favouritism towards a particular group of people up until Paul shared the Gospel with the Gentiles. Up until then, the religion was a tradition rooted in heritage. It seems odd that the God of the universe would not appear to all people groups the way He did to the Israelites. However, it makes perfect sense if this religion was exactly like all the others up until Christianity was widely popularized.

It wasn't like all others, and there's plenty of non-Israelites in the Old Testament who knew Him and followed Him. If you're going to make a complaint, try to make sure its a valid one instead of a strawman

@ Yes, there were converts to the religion, but only because they moved onto the land. We know from archaeology that YHWH was originally a storm god looking after Israel specifically, just like other polytheistic religions surrounding it. Modern readers tend to miss the deep connection between the communal god and the land, which remained a core part of Israel’s theology even after monotheism became dominant.

@seanpierce9386 people didn't only convert because they moved onto the land. Neither was Yahweh originally a storm God.

No…..the real problem is why people choose to focus on what “race” GOD chose to bring His Son into the world. Stop making skin color an idol and focus on what HE has done.

@@emirandme My comment has nothing to do with physical features and everything to do with culture and religion. I’m putting forward an argument regarding the likelihood of Yahweh being the God of the whole universe. Please address that rather than whatever you’re insinuating.
