Wow, With 500 kilometers of tunnels there are some things we can assume. They have power, communication, living quarters, eating quarters, stores, rocket manufacturing capabilities. They have meeting rooms, store rooms, apartments, and various layers of tunnels. There is probable a public layer with a complete town, shops, barbers, stores, restaurants, as well as military layer. These tunnels are going to have hospitals, schools, some civilian shelters, apartments, showers, wells and restrooms. One could build everything one would need underground. One could drill a well for water and build a septic tank sewage system. (or just pump it out above ground). There are going to be seperate tunnels for ventilation, most tunnels probable have multiple ways in and out. In Vietnam, they had controlled ventilation with water filled traps. Most of the important people have been living and working in the tunnels for years at this point as it is a safe place where people can meet and cell phones don't work. In WW2 Americans found it easier to just seal Japanese soldiers into the tunnels than go in and fight them. They have probably thought about this as well. Giving all the tunnels multiple enterances, and then having multiple ways in and multiple ways of sealing the tunnels. If the tunnels are in layers, if one layer is compromised, you can escape down to a another layer and then move out. the tunnels probably have air locks to stops flooding the tunnels with fumes, and probable have lots of alternative air sources. There is probablly compressed air that can be be distributed into certain sections. They probably have sections with video monitoring, and sections of tunnels with the purpose to stop enemy flooding. There is probable internet, and old fashion phone lines working through large sections of it. Some tunnels are probable used primarily for moving people, others for moving goods. Some are probable one way tunnels. If I can think of all this in just a few minutes, people working on the tunnels for years have probably thought up much better stuff.

They can't flood them because for that they need a lot of water. ( They can use sea water but it will be almost impossible to secure the pumps ) they will also face difficulty in using small drones or robots because the communication will be lost only after few metres.
@realkacy Жыл бұрын
In the case of robots, a threshold would need to be crossed: autonomous robots with offensive capabilities. A wire would be possible though would make the system vulnerable. Of course the autonomous aspect could be used for the robot to retreat in case the connection is lost. Regarding flooding with water: tear gas or alike is an option. Adding color and forcing it down the shafts would help to identify other entrances and exits.

For without cause they have hidden their net for me in a pit, which they have dug without cause for my life.
