The Dark ages run from 410AD to 1066 in Britain. Medieval period is 1066-1485.

Yeah I took mine out of the loft. I loved the books so much as a kid and I enjoyed the TV show. It was a great adaptation.

Brilliant! I find the time just before The Black Death most interesting with the architectural corpses of the Roman empire all but forgotten and built over. Wooden castles plastered and painted to appear stone and probably for fire resistance. The first university in a sea of illiteracy. New types of mills for production. Kings, the all powerful instruments of order and chaos, finally leashed by the Magna Carta.The last of the Medieval Warm Period. Armor still moving more like cloth and heater shields. The wake behind Norman collapse.

I respect the dark ages alot more now. Thought it was ultimately unknowable but there is a lot of interesting shit going on. Still think i prefer Late middle ages, I'm sure you'll be very impartial on that one

Medieval Times were even filled with amazing history outside of Europe= Mongols and Feudal Japan in Asia, the Aztecs, Inca, and Maya in the Americas, the spread of Polynesian wayfinders across the Pacific... Such a fascinating era across the globe.

Yes, I agree they weren't always naked, maybe for lovemaking, the reason I showed them like that is because of what Gildas is stating about them. "But inspired with the same avidity for blood and all more eager to shroud their villainous faces in bushy hair than to cover decent clothing those parts of their body which required it”. Basically Gildas is saying they were naked, I hope that helps.
