I have a 2wd 4cylinder 2001 frontier king cab. Best truck i've ever owned. My wife laughed at it when I first picked it up, she was expecting a huge truck. She couldn't believe how comfortable it was. After mild maintenance and new shocks that thing goes everywhere. I've gone on mexico trips all the way to big bear and no problems what so ever. AC blows cold. the only thing I wish my truck had was cruise control, so you can sit back and relax lol.

Mine was a 1999 Frontier single cab XE. I got it at 16 and made all the payments. I absolutely babied that truck. All oil changes by the dealership. I waxed it monthly. I put a chrome UWS toolbox, stainless bed rails, Infinity speakers, JVC cd player, alarm and remote start. I was absolutely anal about keeping it clean. Some punk in his dad's F150 rear ended me at a red light doing almost 40mph. The bumper was almost touching the rear end. The bed and cab made contact and warped the doors. He hit me hard enough that 3 vehicles ahead of me were involved. The damn thing still started and drove! The F150 had to be towed away. That punks dad was chewing his azz the entire time... Apparently he took it without permission and that was his work truck.

I know that Toyota trucks have a great reputation, but even old ones with over 200K miles are expensive.
@VehicleHunter5 жыл бұрын
Their reputation along with resale value in the market is high. The toyotas I have owned were all amazing cars. nissans are good, their engine and transmissions are great. But i found that Nissan has worse build quality than Toyota. But pretty darn reliable.

I know I'm late to the party as this post is 4 years old. I was a young man when the truly smaller trucks were popular. I always liked the style of the Tacoma but never wanted to fork over that type of $. I've had many trucks but for small trucks I had 2 Ford Rangers. An 07 & an 11. Reliable trucks. Am in the process of acquiring a 99 Frontier. 4 cylinder single cab Automatic with Tonneau cover.One owner, 56k miles with all of his service Records. Never had a Nissan but am looking forward to my run! Going to have to go to Goodwill store and find me some "cassettes." Oh, the good old days. I also enjoy doing maintenance and will appreciate the room under the hood! Great Video.

My Dad's friend is giving me his extended cab 2000 Frontier, 2.4L with 5-speed. He bought a new truck, and he doesn't use it anymore. Nothing wrong with it, has around 200K miles. All it needs is a new brake switch, or the wires cleaned, which hardly costs anything lol! Body and paint is in great shape, just needs to be cleaned. He bought it brand-new, and changed the oil every 5k miles! As far as reliability, I think this truck in general is neck and neck with the original Toyota Pickup, or 1st gen Tacoma. Just about every truck from that era was very reliable.

Check out the bed dimensions of different year model and even other manufacturers. I found one next to a pile of trash & was looking at it when the owner said: "I'm chucking it buddy. You can have it if you want." Don't know what it was made for but it was about a inch too short & half inch too narrow. Fit my Toyota just fine. I think all the" mini" pickups had very simular bed sizes. Same thing with truck bed toolboxes. Got one of those on my S10 & have no clue what it was originally made for. ...as long as it drops in. :-) Good Luck Pal.
