I've spotted a few references to this type in the 'Battle for Guadalcanal' section of Christopher Shores' 'Duel For The Sky: Ten Crucial Air Battles Of World War II Vividly Recreated' and I had no mental picture of its appearance, so that's why I was watching this video and thanks for it, although I did notice that there were some photos clearly of a similar monoplane type, which seemed a little careless.

Without the floats.. It may have been a good design for a fighter... but outdated for most of WW 2. I did not know of this aircraft til now, great video.

Maybe. I don't think it would have been better than the CR.42 though. Its wing size alone would prevent it from matching the smaller Falco in speed.

@@user-do5zk6jh1k the cr 42 can be said to be the high point of bi plane fighters.. yes true. It pushed that type to the limit . That may explain its service in many roles til almost the end of ww 2. Not many bi planes can make that claim. 😊

My other favorite WW2 bipe, alongside the CR-42. I think a boutique a/c builder would find a few takers 4 custom production of this type. The struts twixt fuselage topdeck & upper wing R cabane struts
