I can actually see how both sides thought and would make the decisions they did. One species grew in relative peace while the other had to fight just to stay where they were. It's not surprising the Mon Calamari and Quaran would view things differently especially when it comes to change. For the Mon Calamari it brought great positive while for the Quaran it brought hardship and death. No wonder the Mon Calamari were so welcoming to newcomers while the Quaran were always suspicious.

All of Lina Soh's Great Works seem to have failed by the end of the High Republic era, which may well be where the majority of the issues faced in the Prequels and Clone Wars stem. The Republic wanted to expand into the Outer Rim while honestly working to perfect what it already had, but the Nihil - or rather Marchion Ro - evidently wouldn't let them. So everything the Great Works were meant to address ended up left on the backburner for Palpatine to force a solution to later through the Republic's next era of expansion known as the Clone Wars.

Considering the Siths long plan was well underway (if anything it was closer to fruition than its starting point) I'd bet a dollar or two that they had more than a little to do with ensuring those plans didn't come to be. After all pretty much everything she wanted to do revolved around peaceful integration of the outer rim and contact with those beyond as well as solidifying republic holdings. Which would have been in direct opposition and set back the Siths plan centuries if not outright murdered it.

I remember a part from the noverl Isard's Revenge where Wedge and his squad infiltrated the Ciutric Hegemony to take out Delak Krennel. One member was a Quarren and as a cover story, he told Krennel that he joined the imperial loyalists because it allowed him to kill Mon Calamari; invoking the old interspecies rivalry to make the cover more believable.

Yeah and from this video, they seem coded as Native Americans, with the younglings taken and raised to be civilised, which doesn't look very good either. It's always more interesting to view things from both sides, such as in the Clone Wars episodes where they visit the separatist senate or how they show that there is also corruption in the Republic and the Jedi Order.

But in all honesty (to me at least) Han Solo very clearly uses a C-96 broomhandle pistol, and most Storm troopers (from the O.G. trilogy at least) very clearly use 9mm carbines, and German M.G.s. But I tell myself they're blasters cause it's Star Wars. Maybe, it just looks like a B.A.R., and actually it's some kind of Star wars alien blaster or something.
