This whole game mode was designed to get us to buy VC. Why were you the 18th pick? So they could justify paying you less VC per game. Why do they pad the story out with all these cutscenes and quests? To make the grind slower. Why do you get benched regardless of play? To make the tiny amount of stat based VC even smaller. They even nerfed the amount of VC you earn in blacktop because people were grinding on that instead of wasting time in MyCareer. It costs double what it did last year to max your attributes. They're literally doing everything in their power to make you wanna buy VC.

ngl i bought the game on discount and spent $10 to get me to 77 overall. once i was there, i cranked endorsement deals to max money but only 2 incentives which were ones i could always hit. then i check the jackpot every day and dont simulate any games. im currently a 89 overall SF after about 30 games. around 45 hours on steam. yeah you do have to buy vc but considering i bought it on discount (game was like 15 on sale) it came out to like 25 bucks to have my guy an 89 overall guy that i can consistntly get A+ with. i could def see people who bought day 1 being aggravated but there are ways to get the VC. flashback games are great for badges too

In my 2K career Shep averaged 11.5 points 6.8 rebounds per game first season. I was averaging 40 points, 3.8 blocks, 2 steals, and a triple-double per game. Meanwhile, I got benched, treated like garbage, and eventually traded for possibly the craziest trade I’ve ever heard of. If you're going to write up a story, at least use some common sense.

I played through 2K23 MyCareer for the first time since 2K19 (The Way Back campaign where you go from China to the G-League to the NBA). Here's what's obvious: - The dialogue is very Gen Z-heavy. It's an obvious shift towards a younger demographic. It's not a bad thing, it's a natural progression. But damn, as a millennial who's played NBA games since Live 2000 it's kind of a bummer to outgrow your hobby. - I still kinda hate how rigid the story narrative is. It'd be cool to go through college and play your way up the draft board. - Cutscenes are way too damn long, and some of them can't be skipped. You don't need a three minute cutscene for everyone to discuss your coffee billboard. - Is the 'MP' nickname a lazy derivative of 'MyPlayer'? - I wish they'd axed the skateboarding drills. It's cool to have a fast way to navigate the map, but it's not Tony Hawk. It's clunky and grinding is a nightmare - The side quests are kinda fun. It's a shame I made a white guy who embarks on a rap career.

I hated the story in 2K19 because through the whole story your character acts like a total douche, even toward his girlfriend, but the whole overtone of it is “Hey, if I change my attitude and commit to the grind, I can get to where I want to go.” But even at the end of the intro story, your character has not changed at all. He’s still acting like an immature tool, but he gets everything he wants anyways. There’s no character development at all, it’s sooooo trash.

Shep got Drafted to the Celtics while I got Drafted to the Spurs and funny enough Kendrick Perkins and Shep went silent as soon as I carried the Spurs to a 30 game winning streak and a 41-7 record and the best record in the League while averaging 35 PPG 0.8 RPG 13.1 APG 3.0 SPG, 0.3 BPG and 1.9 TOs on 50,41,91 shooting in the first 48 games of my Rookie season meanwhile Shep is not even the best or 2nd best player on his team and the Celtics are only a 4-5 seed in the East right now after they went from a 4th seed to a 10th seed at one point when Jayson Tatum was out with injury so it's very clear that I'm way better than Shep and that Shep is getting carried to the Playoffs by Tatum and Brown.

Why are these sports analysts sitting up here on talk shows debating over the 18th and 19th overall selections like they are 1st and 2nd overall picks? @@itzshade7830 this is not better than 22. I used to cop 2K as soon as it dropped. 2K22 Mycareer was mid. So i didn’t to cop 2k23 till maybe like 2 months ago. I rather play 22 any day over this wack ass Mycareer in 23. Whoever idea it was to make you have to play a game over if you don’t pass your objective needs to be fired. Mycareer was supposed to be just get ya player better an ball. A lil cutscene here an there. The lil side quest I don’t need em. The Press Conference cutscene the only ones we really need. The story mode where you played for the Mad Ants that’s was a good 2K mycareer

I absolutely hate most of the main story line. Why do I HAVE to start a rap career with terrible lyrics? Why do I have to be a runway model, why do I have to prove that I'm a dope skateboarder. It seems long and drawn out for no reason, just stick to basketball related shit. I do enjoy playing the NPC in street games and the training center activities though.

I just wish they'd go back to the 2k10 days at this point if this is how the story is gonna be..shit gets worse every year..let me do summer workouts, draft workouts..and send me on my way depending on how good or bad i do..you could even get sent to the D-league(now G-League) in 2k10 if u do bad.. would rather do that..funny because in NBA Live 19, everyone loves u and u dont have to pay a dime to upgrade your character. just play the damn game

I didn't buy this game until it was sold for 7 bucks and the servers are so bad haven't taken one step onto the boat. I can't collect any of the event purses or do any of that extra shit you're taking about. I live in Oklahoma so it's like trying to connect from cuba.Cuba. I couldn't get on the boat much in 2k22 until 2k23 was about to come out. 2k is ass.

I thought this storyline was kinda lame to be honest, cutscenes were wack, the whole rival thing wasn't that exciting to me And when you play Shep in the "Big" championship game all you get is a belt, the music story didn't interest me as much because 2K22 had a rap career as well, a rapper in MC is getting old already 2K22's fashion story was better than this one 23's story was just bland to me
