There is something some people don't understand... You're breaching the FTC if you don't state that you're sponsored but are getting paid in money or items. So, I don't know why people get this idea in their head that you're sponsored or bought off. They are being ridiculous.
@RadixFinder8 жыл бұрын
And there are also people who do not claim that they are sponsored but in fact they are. Recently, there was this case of this "Let's play"-guy promoting his own web shop in his video but pretended the web shop to be an arbitrary one...

We did a kill team tournament during september at my local GW, it was really fun, more than a normal tournament IMO. Here's what i found was usefull : Infiltrated Units, when you have so few model, it's a lot of pressure to have 3 to 5 Scout sniper/Stealthsuit looking at your Leader/Specialist High mobility Unit : there was many jumpsuit/bike and even Interceptor Grey knight (30" teleportation) and all those guy were pretty awesome at killing everything Kill Team was the best thing to happen to War40K...before Burn of Prospero tomorrow, but i'm in love with Ahriman so Kill team's probably still the best for most of the community :P

I might not get a full 40k army but I intend to build about 5 kill teams play them all and perhaps find my favourite playstyle. I wish there used to be a similar version for 8th, but ce la vie!

If you are interested, a team of hobbyist game designers called Heralds of Ruin have created their own version of Kill Team. Their version requires the rulebook and codexes too, but the neat thing is that it's like a mix of Kill Team and the old Mordheim and Necromunda games with a detailed campaign system. They also have a little sheet of rules for each faction that includes HQ choices that are usually powered down versions of the HQs from the regular codexes. Site for those interested. heralds-of-ruin.blogspot.co.uk/p/kill-team-rules.html

I was surprised you were getting suggestions of financial incentivisation by GW...... perhaps some people haven't watched many of your videos to appreciate your sage-like balanced perspecitve on the hobby? Spot on with your opinion on Kill Team, I'm very encouraged by the approach GW is taking to open up 40K at lower cost to new players by doing a skirmish version of the game. I had been a bit concerned that they might Sigmar-ise the game to achieve this effect which would have caused all sorts of issues for the large pitched battles I and my group like to play. They have also got a range of 'stepping stone' boxed sets growing now (Betrayal at Calth etc.) around to bridge the gap between large armies and Kill Team sized entry products. Thanks for another cool video :)

I played half a dozen kill team games with a friend of mine who is also getting into 40k, Ad Mech vs Space Marines, but we used the Heralds of Ruin rules for list building, I preferred that because I could run almost a miniature version of my full army that is slowly getting bought and painted, without having to run full squads. I mixed up a couple of Sicarians, a Kataphron, an Ironstrider and a few Rangers in with the staple Vanguard between the different games, 1-3 special with the standard troops per game, we both tried to keep the lists fair

I've played both the full scale 40k and Kill Team and Kill Team is a great way to try new armies, you see I'm getting into building a Deathwatch army and Kill Team was a great way to experiment with them because for one the kits are expensive(just for their base space marines, which is why I'm just going to convert regular marines and do conversion work). Now we did at first play with the specialist rules but we decided to try a game without them and the game was a lot better. Now to compare the time lapse between the two a standard game at the shop I go to is 2000 points and the games lasts for... three to maybe four hours roughly, with Kill Team the game only takes about half an hour because it's a skirmish game which is fantastic because you can get more games in, it's easier to manage and as you said it's perfect for trying new armies. Now I do like the huge army battles but if your looking to start then start with Kill Team, it's just a great entry way into the game and let's you get an overall taste of the entire 40k game.

I gotta say, much like how Age of Sigmar got me into Fantasy, Kill Team really got me into 40K, I found a person at my game store who enjoyed 40K already and agreed to go halfsies with me on the box in exchange for the Space Marines out of the box. Was a perfect little trade for me, getting me hooked into the game. Now I have a Dark Eldar codex and am looking into getting into that! Also, fun fact, the most models I figured you could bring to a Kill Team game is 48, with Imperial Guard, using two squads of ten regulars, 5 man command squad, and 23 conscripts (All in a Infantry Company)
@David-And-A-Half8 жыл бұрын
I can bring 50 Tyranid Termagants. Two Troop choices. One 20 Termagant Brood and one 30 Termagant Brood. No upgrades. I'm thinking of bringing that as a joke next time I play. Alternatively Ork players can bring two Troop choices of 28 Gretchin and 2 Runtherds for a total of 60 models and 198 points. Makes me wonder if there's something even cheaper out there.

I was looking into starting 40k again (just kill team), but the way the books are set up does my head in. The rules are all over the place, codex tells you to look in the rulebook for what things mean, but neglect to tell you where. I spent more time looking for rules than playing the game. I stopped 40k back in 5th due to budgetary reasons - just picking up a random model here and there. I am loving AoS though, as it is not needlessly complex. How do you feel about the Heralds Of Ruin? I'm just curious because I really like it and usually prefer stuff from outside GW that is fan made over their official stuff.
@tabletopminions7 жыл бұрын
I played it a few times and it just didn't click for me. I suspect it had to do with the redone figure stats or something like that. Thanks for watching!

Kill Team seems a really good idea for those like me that like to buy random units from the newest thing to be released *cough* Genestealer Cult *cough*... I bought the iBook rules to see what the KT rules were like, might even go for the boxed set soon!
@tabletopminions8 жыл бұрын
Those Genestealer Cult models are pretty damn cool, I'll admit. Thanks for watching!

Im totally agree with you. Im not getting paid by Gw either but when they do something right i wave them and when they do the opposite, which was like that till few months ago i was giving my pure rude own personal point of view about the stuff. They finally show improvement. Keep going, nice work, nice videos man. ~ Max.

Hey! What is your opinion on the Storm of Chaos box for Age of Sigmar as a way to get into Age of Sigmar?

It's good exposure to getting some models to build and paint, certainly. Thanks for watching!

New Killteam box coming out! I can't wait to get into wargaming. Thinking of doing either Orks, Tau, or Cultists. I'm divided between each. Any one you'd suggest?
@CesarIsaacPerez8 жыл бұрын
I've been thinking about buying that box specially because I'm interested in the Tau Empire.

***** Lol, but you see I don't have that problem. I'm new to WarHammer, thanks to Age of Sigmar.

I have discovered Tau with kill team. I like to play with them. Is a shooting army, similar for some aspect to modern warfare.

I love kill team its a way for my son who is 6 to get a taste for 40k with out being over loaded. I got the box and I love it thou to be honest we dumped the Tau and went nids pretty fast those Fire Warriors are far to squishy!!!

How long does a game take to run? I've been wanting to do something like this with some of my friends (probably dragging them kicking and screaming), but haven't dipped my toes into wargaming yet.

I'm putting together a salamanders kill team. never wanted to have a big marine army, but love the theme and style of salamanders! also, I have a suspicion that flamers will be great in KT
@leftfieldrebel9508 жыл бұрын
:) very much so
@leftfieldrebel9508 жыл бұрын
there is special flamer rules the once on fire the model stays on fire lol
@tabletopminions8 жыл бұрын
The only problem (that I see) with flamers in Kill Team is that you don't need to keep your squads together in coherency so it'll be harder to get a bunch of models within the template. However, I may be wrong. Thanks for watching!
@AJratcliffe8 жыл бұрын
I heard you say that in another video, I think blasts will be next to useless, as scatter is waaaaay to risky against single targets. Buy flamers will be guaranteed hits, and I think in KT (especially with marines where you won't have many models) reliable hits are a very good thing as you are shooting just one gun against one target, (and I believe salamanders get re-roll flamer wounds too, so there is bonus reliability there too!) Thanks for making the vids, always enjoy watching!

What is the current state of Killteam? My child was interested in the hobby after finding my old fantasy models but the only way I was able to locate items about Killteam was in the search function. Killteam didn’t have its own header bar to click on....they also didn’t list that boxed set

Have you ever plated Heralds of Ruin? My shop put a campaign of it together we mixed a bit of mordheim into it to. heralds of ruin is like kill team but makes it more fun for people want to play not space marines who cant kill deathwatch in turn one. makes it alot more fun
@tabletopminions8 жыл бұрын
I tried the Heralds of Ruin version of Kill Team last year, and I didn't like how they re-did the army lists, I guess. It wasn't for me, I guess - but I'm glad people like it. Thanks for watching!

So from someone who hasn't played 40k since 3rd ed, is it balanced? I have been waiting for a good, balanced "out of the box" game for 40k that contains 2 armies (I don't want to collect whole armies) and I have been interested in Calth and Prospero, but I think kill team might be more up my alley.
@tabletopminions8 жыл бұрын
Nothing's 100% balanced, but Kill Team can be more balanced due to the fewer models and the army list restrictions. Thanks for watching!

Thanks Atom for your videos. Seriously, apart for the great info content you're delivering us for free each and every time, I really like your approach to the internet scum that KZbin is full of. Hi! Sorry in advance for my newb question. Maybe someone can answer. I was looking at games workshop website and couldn't find this "Kill Team". What did they do with it? Did they incorporate it into the "regular" set of rules as a "alternative" way of playing?

Kill Team is smart thing. I have a small lot of space wolves, badly painted, not particularly good units: blood claws, metal rune priest and one or two grey hunters. In order to make decent army I had to buy plenty of stuff which was too much of a burden given the multiple armies I do right now (remember, don't be a miniwargame hoarder). I never played Kill Team, but after watching a couple of battle reports and "Pachao", instead selling them I stripped the models and now I am working into making them into a Kill Team for an upcoming local tournament.
