So well done! Thank you, I didn't even know this was a problem. It seems to me the more we increase our standard of living, the more we take away from the biosphere. Probably every step forward in human development is accompanied by some damage made to the environment. Who knows, maybe even covering large areas with solar panels will cause some problems we can't anticipate right now.
@milenach97824 жыл бұрын
I believe that human race can both develop and keep the environment well preserved. If while planning new projects people took into consideration how it`s going to affect the nature and not only how it`s going to affect their wallets. This is the worst thing ever. It makes no SENSE to ruin our planet like this when the money needed are IN THE SYSTEM! The problem is that the top 1 or 2% has almost all the money. If they (I'm talking the huge corporates with aaaall the money) didn't take all the money that THEY DONT NEED! That they're just SITTING on, and put it into green alternatives like solar power and electrical cars and ending the meat industry/fuelling more lab created meat. Ending world hunger, and much more, basically fixing all the problems capitalism CREATES. Imagine what a better world we would have. How are people not seeing this."

Yet another reason to consume less, have fewer children and use less fossil fuels. We need to work on sharing this planet.
@correctionguy76327 жыл бұрын
Shitty advices, these large ships that transport goods over the sea (such as the device you're typing on) just consumes massive amount of fossil fuels - a good advice would be nuclear energy and more locally made products. just less globalism in general. yes lets just have less children, whos going to pay our pensions? your short sighted advices are nothing but short of a recipe for catastrophe for future generations.

heya vox! I've been watching lots of your videos for awhile now, and stumbled across this only now. it breaks my heart that people (ahem, companies) are thoughtlessly doing and approving of these sorts of things... and for what? it's great that we're trying to move towards solutions that can work for both us and the environment we've harmed so much; loved that the video ended off on such a positive note. i've been wondering, if it hasn't been done yet, if you guys have considered making a video regarding light pollution?

Why I love Vox even if it's a little biased to left.. their videos are incredibly informative and doesn't rely bashing the other side I don't see one story on fox channel that is investigative or informative in nature
@correctionguy76327 жыл бұрын
although I'm not going to deny that certain videos from Vox are great, don't just assume every claim they make as facts as they never cite sources
@CassieScott556 жыл бұрын
they do that to brainwash you slowly. they don't rely on bashing the other side? have you seen their video called "admit it. republicans have broken politics." they use full sentences in their titles, graphs and clear voices in their videos, manipulated facts that aren't cited, and their videos gradually get more and more political. this is how they get you with their crazy left wing propaganda.
@waves98323 жыл бұрын
why is this the first time i'm hearing of this, and this video came out 4 years ago. there was so much evidence riddled throughout this video enough to make anybody reflect and yet this is something that most likely hasn't even reached mainstream media in the way this important info should. thanks vox for making me care.

Let's get Elon Musk in to build electric boats. Will stop the sound pollution caused by boats
@jbbj76387 жыл бұрын
There already are electric boats but they are very expensive, and the state isn't give tax breaks for it so the animals suffer.
@dpkrj1237 жыл бұрын
Jacob N & no need of fossil fuel to drive them too!
@yummyhershey59027 жыл бұрын
Deepak Raj, actually, you would need fossil fuels to create the electricity for the boats so they create just as much pollution as petrol engines, and the batteries needed to run them are also worse for the environment than the typical metals and oils needed to run them. The lack of engine vibrations would help with the sound pollution though.
@externxels50167 жыл бұрын
Yummy Hershey at the end bolth options will create pollution. fossil fuels are more established and well known. and batteries in transportation is only recently being recognized. but I think it's a good shot as more and more energy gets cleaner.
@JacobMelodies997 жыл бұрын
Yummy Hershey But energy can also be created through renewables, such as solar and wind farm, and can be stored in batteries.

Fun fact: the experiment in 2:45 is called the ATOC experiment. The theory behind it is when temperature increases the speed of sound also increases. So basically if the ocean are really warming the sound should take less time travelling the same distance as time progress. And the ocean channel that makes sound travel in grest distances is called the SOFAR channel ( sound fixing and Ranging channel). I know this is kinda off the video but i think its a great tid bit of info that all of us should be aware of
@ananyabiswal49434 жыл бұрын
If people are really concerned then stop complaining about how they're ashamed of being humans and do something like reducing the amount of petrol and diesel we use, the amount of CNG, Cfcs , start using renewable sources of energy, etc
