ESPN programming is driven by marketing people--promote sport-celebrity figures, build shows on the basis of hot takes and trash-talking. This Baldinger kind of analysis wouldn't pass muster with the ESPN marketing department, which assumes that the American public basically has the attention span of a 2-year old...

It's so great to have Aaron Rodgers in an offense that utilizes motion and deception. Rodgers didn't have this in the last few years with McCarthy. Then it was all about matchups which is great if your receiver corps is Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, Jordy Nelson, James Jones, and Randall Cobb; but when it stopped being at that elite level, the offense stagnated. It's taken a year for the team to fully get the nuances and timing of LaFleur's offense down, but now it's like a well oiled machine. Take a look at the play at @3:31. The pre-snap motion is great. The blocking is beautiful. The skill players are going in every direction but in such a way that it causes maximum confusion and congestion for the defense. Is it run? Is it a tight end pass in the flat? Maybe its MVS going across the field or the back out of back field. It could be any of those things because with Rodgers running the plays, he can pick and choose whatever works or he can run the ball himself. Damn. That is great.
@nathanwahl2776
@nathanwahl2776 3 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more man. If only they would've done SOME of this stuff when McCarthy was running the show. That's why he had to go. I'm appreciative of what he did and felt he was underappreciated early in his career and overvalued late. Sometimes the message runs stale. MLF is that dude though.

I was at a Packers practice last summer and the sound that comes off the ball (I was roughly 30 yards away, mind you) with his minuscule *flick* is insane. With Rodgers at thr helm and good receivers, rookie or veteran, he makes it work and out offense gets the job done. Love my Packs. GPG!💪

This is a lot like the Rich Rodriguez offense at WVU back in the day. The knock on him was “his players aren’t being prepped properly for the pros”... when he was just ahead of his time.

And to think the 37 points were the fewest by this Packers offense in 3 games. As Parcells would say, "You are what your record is." He's right. Packers are going to be a nightmare to defend, and I love it! Go Pack Go! 💚💛🧀

The problem in the secondary at 4:25 wasn't the safety. He played his quarter in "quarters" zone so he ran with Lazard like he was supposed to. The problem was Jenoris Jenkins stepping up on the underneath route instead of playing his deep quarter. Lazard should have ended up with 2 guys on him since the safety on Jenkins' side if the field was covering the underneath like he was supposed to.
