The technique doesn't work for me, because ifI am focused, I am focused. I can study for 5 hours. But if I keep on taking breaks every 25 minutes,I will lose my focus since I am a person who gets distracted very easily. Then I get demotivated and no longer wanna study

i do 50/5 for 3 times,after that i rest for 30->45min,maybe excercise with my wii or switch fit,snacks,and then continue,i feel that 25/5 will break my attention span,50/5 or 45/5 is better also,open the window,if your room is full of fresh air,your brain works harder

For the people who say the technique is whack because they go on for 4-5 hours at a stretch and taking short breaks is detrimental to their flow. You guys should realise you can skip breaks. These breaks and boundaries in general are to help ‘you’ not the other way around. If you feel like you are in the groove, then do not stop. Keep going. When you feel like your focus is off take the next break whenever it comes. The break ending will motivate you to sit back down and not just waste your time.

For me the technique helps me get started but I'm not strict about it. Sometimes 25 minutes isn't enough and it interrupts my study and sometimes 5 minutes isn't enough to refresh my brain to study again. I prefer task based study i.e taking a break every time I finish a chapter/problem.

Yes 50-10 is the best for me. 25-5 feels too short. But 25-5 helped me to start! It helped me to realize how much can be done even in that time frame if we focus. I have trouble concentrating. The countdown staring at my face made me focus. And now I have moved on to 50-10 . 😊 whenever I feel like I'm not doing much, I go back to 25-5 again.
@ehsan2702 Жыл бұрын
To be honest, you should use the pomodoro technique if you don't revise that much or get distracted. I found that when have been revising for a long time the pomodoro technique is a waste, as you can easily get into a 4 hour work flow and have deep focus

How pomodro works depends.. my focusing time is around 1.1:45 hrs so I'll study straight and take a break for 20 mins.. try this might work for you
@x_cv4695Ай бұрын
Pomodoro does work, but it depends on the person to know how it is most effective to one. For example my best friend loves 25/5 because she has difficulty staying focused for long periods of time. Whereas for me 50/10 is a better option because I only get in the zone after 20 minutes so then I can work focused for 40 minutesuntil I'm reminded I need to get a break, drink water, stretch, clear my mind and then go back to it.

It doesn't work for me because i tend to focus for a long period of time like 7-8 hours straight. And then take a long break. This works for me because I study during nights and i am not distracted at all,so i van sit for a long time with no breaks.

Different people have different durations of total concentration. So, we have to find that by recording our times and taking an average of our durations of total concentration. Then we can add appropriate minutes required for break time.

I guess, we can study till we run out of concentration fuel and take appropriate minutes of break. Ex I studied with utmost concentration for 45 minutes and then I took a 7-8 minute break. (or) I studied for 2 hours with utmost concentration and I took a 20-30 minute break.
