Tanner my boy, the sneeze at the end was magnificent. I believe you are well on your way to becoming a fine electrical engineer. Keep studying and experimenting. Take care with high power circuits however. Don’t ever become complacent with your safety.

I really agree with all the comments about the quality of this video’s explanation on the difference of AC and DC current as it relates to power transmission. I remember hearing the difference but didn’t understand why until now. Thanks again. Subscribing. An easy choice.

Go back to the electronics Warehouse! Do a livestream while your there too. I might see you there since I live near there and I go quite often. That would be cool since I am a bit younger than you but still pretty close to your age. I have more respect for you than any other "electronics youtuber". Keep up the good work man! Your soo cool dude!

Thanks! Why is high voltage so much more dangerous?
@egg7990
@egg7990 4 жыл бұрын
High voltage provides a path for a lot of current to flow through the body and if the current goes through the heart, it could result in heart failure and tissue damage.

5:18 how much current is left to work with on that last transformer if you put a 500 mA load from that lamp?

Isn't there also DC to DC converters? Why not use those instead?
@JustLovett0
@JustLovett0 4 жыл бұрын
DC to DC could increase or lower voltage, but the wattage of the circuit would still be the same. You wouldn’t save or gain any power on the circuit/wire, just change the voltage. Amperage changes accordingly and opposite to the voltage.

@@JustLovett0 Thanks. But if we step up the voltage, same thing applies, it will be less current, regardless of AC or DC to run the same device.
@egg7990

@@TheVedicWayChannel How many dc converters do you know of that can step up to a million volts? You would need to turn dc into ac, use a transformer, then turn it back into dc. Ac to ac converter is waaaaaay cheaper and easier as you can just use transformers.
@TheVedicWayChannel
@TheVedicWayChannel 4 жыл бұрын
@@egg7990 Hey cool dude, so its a problem of price, its just cheaper to step up in AC? I see.
@davestech6357
@davestech6357 4 жыл бұрын
Not a good idea touching the leads from the variac. The ac is directly connected to mains voltage. If want to do that properly use a isolation transformer inline. Also dc is used with transformers by supplying a pulsed voltage known as pwm

I believe the overhead street lines are 33kv, we aldo have underground cables, one I... Stole... And it had a thick aluminium core but copper outer wires, our step down transformers are everywhere but shielded off from the public, we don't get the big bin types here, I remember as kids we would sit on top of the step down transformers 😱😱😱
