How a car's O2 sensor works(+Trying to understand strange current measurements)

I understand how typical wideband and narrowband O2 sensors work, but this one is a bit different. It is also strange that the only way I can measure the current drawn by the sensor is using my radioshack multimeter.
Next video will be out tomorrow and show this device hooked up to a lawnmower.

I was planning some project where i could add a catalytic converter to things like generators or a wood stove. The reducing/oxidizing swapping via these sensors was the main unknown. This video will definetly help !

Put a 1 ohm resistor on the output and read the voltage drop across the resistor to know the current flow. All meters are not built the same or with identical component values.

Can you use them without airflow and not risk heat damage? Also, maybe your meters need new batteries

Just give it 5Vdc and measure the output as a voltage to at least 2dp. If you dont believe me, look up the ECU pinout diagram, it will show you that the cars ECU does this to read it.

Should also mention that o2 sensors need to be calibrated depending on engine and exhaust, so dont expect to use variables you found on the internet for your lawn mower, especially if you're mounting the o2 yourself as location is important.

How do you give power to a toy without you having to use Batteries?
