Why the pros play: Greymane

I wouldn't say Greymane need any kind of changes to be honest. His raw damage output is crazy and his kit is so unique that it requires a different approach than most of the heroes. Definetely a well created champion.

i feel that probius is THE hero most in need of a rework. And some to Illidan in 2nd. GM is great, S tier hero, easy to pick hard to master, does everything an assassin needs to do

Graymane is slowly becoming one of my favorite characters and I hope they give him a few changes to freshen him up. He’s been pretty stagnant outside of the occasional buff/nerf to his Bullet.

if they removed the stealth 4 and gave him a liiiiiittle bit of lifesteal/heal on kill/whatever sustain hed be much better

To add, Insatiable is a garbage talent because Greymane never has mana problems. His W can be active for a long time so you aren't using it much and his E and Q (Worgen) don't use a lot of mana. Your natural mana regen and globes are enough to keep you going. I'd say for Storm League, go Alpha Killer at 16 unless you have a specific character you can reliably combo off (Arthas, Malf, ETC ect). Thanks for making a Greymane video!!

Its not garbage. It's just situational. There is Worgen build with this: lvl4 mana, lvl13 CDR on worgen W, lvl16 3% on worgen attacks, lvl20 worgen splash and W dmg increase. lvl13 CDR eats mana very quickly and lvl4 helps to compensate that. I saw a game played by Fan, and he did that build. But he himself said that it's situational and ranged build is more versatile.

I go the potions build all the way through and it works great. I don't take Executioner because it relies on people being slowed or rooted which isn't always happening. Alpha Killer works all the time and really helps shred tanks, especially when combined with Silver Bullet. I also take Tooth and Claw, so I can solo camps much faster. Works well for me.

I play Greymane quite often. I never run dry of mana, and I never pick Insatiable. Even in ARAM I never have mana issues. I think it's a wasted talent. I think it should be a lifesteal talent there instead. Butcher has even more AA damage, and has both lifesteal and strong CCs. Why Greymane can't have at least self-sustain? Thick Skin is good, but burns our extremely quickly against heroes like Tracer, Tychus or Illidan. I think it should be buffed, and instead of protecting against 2 basic attacks, it should protect against every basic attack coming at you for 2 seconds. Eyes in the Dark is never a bad choice against any composition. Stealth itself is useless, but it's being picked because it makes AAing him impossible, as well as casting telegraphed point'n'click damage. Contrary to some opinions, Grey is fully playable in QM. If you don't have good comb, play human build, poke all the time and jump only for the kill. If you have Uther, Tyrael, Morales or strong frontline, go yolodive build and kick asses.

I feel like not having Lifesteal is a balance thing. Valla only gets sustain from talents (non meta ones too, Gloom is the go-to) at 13 and she gets bonus range later than Greymane (20 vs 7). Sylvanas gets rather low self-heal for pvp anyway at 16 and she also gets bonus range later than Greymane (13 vs 7) although the argument can be made Sylvanas is sometimes played as a diver rather than a main dps. Greymane already has better campclear than both heroes and better waveclear than Valla plus a better tank-melting heroic than either Valla or Sylv, so I would just be concerned that if he had lifesteal he would overshadow both of those heroes. Cassia just does too much of several things in fights, survivability including self-heal + damage, so her weakness is limited macro potential and shorter range until 13 in aa build, and in aa build her damage can situationally be lower than Valla, Sylv and Greymane. Because of how survivable she is I don't always like comparing her to the other 3, but it's a major reason why Cassia is the most meta of the 4 which is worth noting when comparing them.

@@matthewbarton9706 vallas has more movement compared to Greymane, (Vault, base movement speed) that is a sort of defensive. With greymane until lv 13 movement you are kind of a static target, you only have E as "movement" or you roll out or you jump in

You just poke 5 seconds, bullet and jump with %dmg that might be just 90% of almost any heroe Even tanks. If You don't have w active You Dont jump

Hey, notparadox, interesting topic I think needs to be addressed. With the exp globes, do you think the games are too fast and the mid game has kind of been removed with heroes hitting lvl20 so fast. I would love to hear your take on this one.

I'm still salty from when they took away the talent that gave 3% damage increase per takedown, losing all stacks on death. Removed so much of the high risk/high reward from him.

Might be a weird question, but do you have any plans on any new games? I've seen several of my favorite WoW personalities leaving recently in light of all the Blizzard news and wanted to see if you've considered any other new games. cuz on pro lvl u have healer... plain and simple. Try to play Grey solo on qm or low rank been outsustained and feel the pain... yup, of course u can climb bronze to master only playing Greymane, I've already done it, but every time u got a stupid healer on your side vs a good enemy healer, u will need to turn god-mode to compensate
