@@idkwut2callmyself561 I would have liked that. I feel that we should have episodes about the characters and their different relationships with one another. Like Yusei and Aki’s potential romance with each other, Aki and Ruka having a sibling relationship like you said. We should have gotten a character arc for Aki as she tries to stop Arcadia’s return in secret. But then Yusei gets involved and would have gone on stealth missions together to try and stop Arcadia especially Divine returning. Since I did read in an anniversary book that he was confirmed to have been resurrected after the Dark Signers and arrested but nothing came of that. Still would have liked to see an Arcadia arc with Yusei and his friends facing off against Divine and his army of psychic duelists.

Finally someone does a video about this! I love 5Ds too but the second half was just like you said so disappointing. Even though I did enjoy it. However it is deeply flawed. Many characters in the series experienced stagnation or regression, particularly Yusei, who became more of a background figure despite being the protagonist. Aki's character transformation into a shy, timid girl feels unrealistic given her traumatic past; it undermines her earlier development and agency. Instead of portraying Yusei as a supportive guide, the narrative leans into the trope of him "saving" her, which contradicts the original emphasis on self-salvation. Additionally, her loss of psychic powers and the reasoning behind it seem inconsistent with her established character, detracting from the complexity that was previously explored. Rally, Nerve, Blitz, and Taka were essentially written out of the series with only a brief cameo, leaving their fates unexplained. The Meklords also lacked any proper introduction or connection to the story, especially regarding the failure of Momentum. Their presence felt disconnected from the established Mesoamerican mythology that previously grounded the series, creating a significant inconsistency in the lore. Yliaster's three members were poorly developed, doing little more than waiting for the plot to advance, with their duels yielding no significant impact. Their "ultimate form" was unconvincing and poorly designed. Aporia and Z-One had potential with an interesting backstory, but they were underutilized, mainly serving as a threat to drop a city on Yusei's without deeper exploration of their characters. While the second half wasn’t too bad however it wasn’t peak! And I don’t care what anyone says The Dark Signer arc was peak! Also I really didn’t like the ending to 5Ds. Everyone says that it has the best ending to any Yugioh series but I completely disagree! It felt hollow to me leaving so many questions unanswered. Also I wasn’t the biggest fan of how the disbandment of Team 5Ds went. I don’t find the ending satisfying one bit yet it gets overhyped a lot just like the Arc Cradle arc. Even though I enjoyed the final duel with Yusei and Z-One however I found it lacking in substance since it was all spectacle fatigue. Great video, BTW.

Pretty good video! ^^ Katsumi Ono and Atsuhiro Tomioka was a great director and writer duo that really made the Fortune Cup great. Yoshida held the ship steady for the Dark Signer's storyline but Tomioka's departure was felt greatly. 5D's not getting the ratings in the age demographic that TV Tokyo wanted which probably caused an overhaul of the series. It really felt it was the starting point for the next decade or so by Shueisha, TV Tokyo and Konami trying to grab the younger demographic for the franchise through different ideas with varied results. Just a note but Zexal's Luna wasn't mandated or at least not editorially. Shin Yoshida and Naohito Miyoshi , the artist behind the Zexal, Arc-V and OCG Stories manga, were working on the basic concept of a bodyguard/partner for Shark. Miyoshi wanted said bodyguard to be a girl and Yoshida agreed to it. It didn't matters much since Yoshida forgot about the agreement, wrote Luna as a guy because he is shonen-pilled and default any new character as a guy, and he presented the character to Miyoshi. Miyoshi had to remind him that Luna was a girl, something he was proud about. It makes sense since without Miyoshi's minor office politics that gave us both Luna and E'Rah, Princess Cologne would have been the only female character to duel in the entire Zexal manga. Luna's lack of relevance in the end is simply that she sadly finished her role as Shark's Bodyguard and Miss Exposition. Finally, I do feel the same with Sherry being obligated but I think it's not in the way most people think tho. Hikokubo Masahiro does say that he has to do a lot of back and forth discussions with Konami about using card that were either suggested or requested. I feel like that idea can be expand it to the production team and I think Sherry was planned and created to work in a request by Konami to include Chevalier de Fleur. Chevalier de Fleur was one of the three promo cards for Tag Force 5, a game that was released over a month after Sherry made her debut in the anime. Apologies for the constant yapping! haha! XD

5Ds did what Yu-Gi-Oh! shows do best: have a really promising 1 or 2 seasons and then become complete flanderized versions of themselves as the show goes on, becoming unrecognizable with what the show originally sold you on but you stick around because shiny new cardboard. The DM filler arcs being unfaithful to how characters would normally react or completely reverse an entire journey of character progression (Atem and Jonouchi, respectively), 5Ds becoming a slice of life comedy that abandons the anti-classist & criminal/prison reform messaging, Arc-V losing the plot halfway through Synchro, Vrains dropping all themes of depression/PTSD halfway through the Bohman arc, etc. GX and Zexal are the only shows that actually follow through on character progression, as well as the Rush animes which I think imo get better with time (Romin's character arc, for example).

Now, on a more serious note: - I think 5Ds (and VRAINS to a lesser extent) get a lot of love and affection from fans (especially the West) since they are arguably the only two Yu-Gi-Oh series that have a vibe of being for adults or mature people. This is because their Main Cast has the vibe that we are seeing young adults (or teenagers entering maturity). Yes, there are some children here and there, but they don't stand out much (or they are not the main focus). Something similar happens recently with DivineZ in Vanguard: the series receives some extra praise since we are seeing a mature or more adult Cast compared to the previous Anime that we were following as children or pre-teens. In fact, not having a mature/adult Cast led to Zexal and SEVENS receiving a lot of strong criticism. GX is slowly entering this category for its childish approach for at least two Seasons. - I always find it funny how people praise Yusei for being this powerful and invincible Duelist, but hate on Playmaker when he's essentially the same as Yusie. Sure, you can say that Yusei has charisma, but I don't think that's a good enough excuse to defend the fact that Yusei is treated like the ultimate savior or the one who can take on anything. DivineZ has something similar with Akina, his MC: he has the vibe of being a perfect person and an prodigy Fighter despite not having much experience or training. The only Characters that can be said to try to confront this ideology of being "perfect" are the Main Antagonist of Season 1 and his younger sister, but it's either not explored in depth or it just comes to the conclusion that Akina was right. I feel like Luke is my favorite example of an invincible Duelist, but one who still has Character Development: as well as the Characters themselves not considering Luke the savior and not even taking him seriously. - I think it's not news how badly Aki was treated when Shin Yoshida took over the main script. However, Leo and Luna also had a hard time. While there are reasons or "justifications" for Aki's plot being cut or important parts that could have helped the Character that couldn't be realized, it's weird to think that Spirit World was discarded even though it wasn't tied to things like cults or conspiracies. Not having more presence in Spirit World made Luna's abilities become useless in the long run or had no more impact. There's also the lack of Duels for these three Characters: Aki, Leo, and Luna. Sure, Duels don't determine how good a Character will be, but the interactions between Characters that occur in that Duel can help better shape the Characters's goals or ideals. Honestly, it's funny to think that Asaka, a Supporting Character in GO RUSH, has more Duels and more importance in the Plot than Aki, Leo, and Luna in their own series. - Then there's the recurring Studio Gallop theme of the Power Trio of the MC, Main Rival, and Best Friend. This Power Trio causes a lot of the plots to focus on just a handful of characters and doesn't allow the rest to shine or stand out. I'm not saying there shouldn't be a Trio that drives the plot or is the main face of the series, but some variety other than the MC, Main Rival, and Best Friend would be nice. Interestingly, 5Ds was the first series to attempt to have a Group of 5 Main Characters that would remain recurring or relevant throughout 5Ds. However, 5Ds's change of direction saw them revert to the Power Trio that would plague Yu-Gi-Oh until SEVENS. Sure, GO RUSH also has the Power Trio, but it gave it a twist by having the Female Lead as one of the important faces of the series, not the Main Rival (although the latter is still important and recurring)

The main difference between Yusaku and Yusei is that we know Yusei. He shows a lot more emotion, has a very personal involvement with the events happening in the main story, he actually grows up a lot (from season 1 and 2 where he was very cold, distant and basically depressed, to his serene and smiling personality in the seasons that follow due to finally having found friends that he can count on and inspire. He also had a lot of evolution concerning his guilt of the zero reverse incident), and we know his story. Everything in 5D's is Yusei's story, and we follow him from beginning to end, as he inspires everyone around him and changes the world for the better. And now, I actually like Yusaku. He's actually very different from Yusei, as his trauma defines his entire character: he is rash, rational, rude, he's unable to feel most emotions and constantly dealing with his past haunting him even to present day. But the thing with Yusaku is that we don't know the first thing about him, and he hardly even feels like a character. What kind of person was he before the most incident? Who is his family? He only scarcely shows emotions and him getting over his trauma is hinted at, but rarely shown. He may be more open after season 1, but it's so subtle you wouldn't notice if you didn't look closely. He doesn't have chemistry with any of the cast and barely has relations with anyone outside of dueling. I'd say the most engaging part of his character was his relationship with Ai and how it impacted his character, which I believe the show did very well, but other than that, Yusaku is just... Empty, man. You really have to scratch your head to even think of him as a character and not just as a walking concept

The biggest plot hole in season 2 was basically time travel, they could time travel to actually stop the catastrophe it happened and if failed, well they could try again and again, like team New World thinks they could theoretically destroy Neo domino to stop the cataclysm which could be true but that's literally going AWOL for the sake of it, like they could warn Doctor Fudo about the Momentum and you know the worst part? Yusei, someone who hasn't touched technology besides dueling technology fixed the problem, granted it took some help but still, it only took a couple of weeks at best, imagine this if they reached Yusei or his dad and said: "Fix this issue before it's too late" like even if they didn't fixed immediately they had over a 100 years to help but despite this all, season 2 is my guilty pleasure, the tournament fights were cool, the Evolution of Stardust and Red Dragon are great and the final duel of Jack and Yusei is great, this season is weird, clunky and fails a lot but there's good things scattered there
@genyakozlov13162 ай бұрын
They tried, but the future couldn't be changed, as said in the series. Iliastet trio ruled the world for hundreds of years, yet the only way to save the future turned out to be transporting the Arc Cradle into the modern time to prevent Momentum from ever working again due to Arc's negative rotation. Z-one did not want to go through with that, so he gave Yusei a teacher in the form of Bruno and sent him the evolutions of Stardust dragon from the future, all to give a chance to stop him. If Z-one wanted, he could be completely unstoppable, but he gave humanity and in particular his hero Yusei a chance to impress him. There are obviously still some plot holes here, as always with time travel, but I think it's one of the most beautiful stories in the franchise, certainly better than the Dark Signers arc villains, the Godwin brothers, could ever dream to be.

The reason they wanted to destroy neo domino city wasn't because they thought it was the only way to stop the apocalypse ; it was because they had lost all hope of humanity ever changing and that no matter what they did to avoid the machine's uprising, humanity would always end up destroying itself in the end. Yusei didn't solve the crisis by inventing a way for momentum not to overflow with negativity (which he did in a much longer timespan : in the span of a few months to a year, and the reason he knew what to do was because Zone made him understand what he needed to do. Also, Yusei is a genius at mechanics and probability at everything concerning momentum energy as well, considering everything in 5D's works thanks to it), he did so by bringing a fragrance of hope to this world

Yusei in comparison to Yugi and Judai is admittedly pretty weak in terms of development. Even in the first season, he’s pretty static. After watching Yugi and Atem teach each other to be strong and kind respectively and Judai learning what it is to grow up, watching Yusei stoically ace every challenge and never really making a mistake or being wrong sadly rings the Gary Stu alarm for me. I couldn't hold in. I want to share my ideas for a change in the 5D's Story (For second arc). 0 - Before the Rex Goodwin reaches its climax, Not only does Crow not gain the signer mark, But also gets heavily wounded (Or dies), And with his last efforts, He aids Yusei with the last strength he has. And he has an exchange of words with either Rua/Leo or Ruka/Luna. He then knows that he's done for and tries to inherit his deck to either, And this is where either of those 2 gets a real protagonism once the second arc comes in. Oh, and no one revives. Not even Carly. 1 - After the events of the dark signers, A new person takes the embodiment of a manager like Rex Goodwin was. It could be the best way Illiaster could have their excuse for manipulating the Neo Domino City. 2 - Yusei is busy because he tries to learn about his past. Think of this as a way to tell that the past is something you can't deny, And is also something you will always be burdened with, And also that you have to move on in your life. Yusei tries to discover more aspects regarding his family and what was the goal for Doctor Fudo in order to improve the human technology and its way for living. 3 - Jack, In his attempt to regain his lost reputation and to move on from the loss of Carly. Tries to deal with Illiaster, By dueling in some sort of way. Maybe Illiaster creates a mock-up tournament to test the duelist(s) and Jack makes his way not only to gain his reputation, But also get to the bottom of things, As illiaster deems with suspicious deeds that could worsen the situation for Satellite and Neo Domino City. 4 - Yusei learns about his past, Maybe even finds the whereabouts of his father. But then comes across Illiaster trying to 'silence' him, Yusei has a couple of duels and gets away with it. He then knows Illiaster's next move, So he gets to the mock-up tournament. 5 - Sherry joins the mock-up tournament, As she is also aware of Illiaster's involvement. Then as a way to distract herself from all the unfortunate events. Aki joins the tournament to seek a reason to exist and know what can she do after all those terrible actions she did while Divine/Sayer was at her company. 6 - Jack significantly improves his position by defeating a couple of duelist(s), But his true challenges will come by dueling both Sherry and Aki, Once he defeats both, He is at its climax for regaining his reputation. But then comes Bruno as Antinomy. He appears as a surprise duelist and drives Jack to the brink of defeat. I think Bruno is still a good implementation of the story. 7 - Jack is defeated and humiliated due Antinomy taking the lead. Illiaster then begins to move its chess piece, And tries to take on Antinomy, He struggles, But then comes Yusei, And repels Illiaster for a short while, And saves Jack, Aki and Sherry, And of course, Antinomy. I know I should probably continue the story, But I can't think for the rest of the story in a more natural way. This was just some ideas but it turned out to be a more elaborated story. Nice video, Ventus Ace and sorry for posting this much text.

so I agree with most of the things that you said in this video with the second half of Yu-Gi-Oh 5D being Disappointing and the biggest problem was it did not use the interesting characters they had in the show in the best way and I always thought it was a waste Akiza character by having her sit by on the sides during the whole wrgp arc and she could of down so much more in that arc and if the show allow her or even Leo and Luna to duel in the wrgp arc even so often it would of maybe that arc a bit more interesting since it feel like the show having all the member of the main cast involve in the wrgp tournament and it would of add some much need variety to it I also feel like the show should of had Akiza, Luna and Leo get some type of upgraded form to their dragons since for the whole show it felt like crimson dragon/ the writers were just favoring Yusei and jack by giving at least one upgraded form to Akiza, Leo and Luna it would at least add some more variety to the Signer Dragon now as for Leo and Luna I always felt like they had a lot of potential to do a lot more in the show and it would of interesting to see them do more and try to improve in their dueling skills and maybe even try to get better cards so they could try to help Yusei more and maybe even have some type of rematch against Lester since I feel Leo and Luna should of got a rematch against Lester in the show since they could of easily have beaten him in even their first Turbo duel since they did well in their first Turbo duel despite the limitations they had with the play style of their decks being held back by Turbo dueling and would of been good to see them overcome the limitation they have in Turbo duels by either getting an upgraded form for their dragons, some new synchro monsters or maybe just Leo getting some equip spells that work with the speed world spell in Turbo duel since those would be unique cards in the anime another miss opportunity for an interesting moment for Leo and Luna in the show is with life stream dragon and the mystery surrounding that dragon since it was never really explained how life stream dragon end up as power tool dragon and it would have been good to learn some more lore for the other Signer Dragons and maybe even for life stream dragon to end up being an interesting powerful boss monster since it is the final Signer Dragon though instead it is just wasted and what it ends up being is just used as a plot card to help Yusei summon out his ultimate Stardust dragon card which I thought was really insulting for Leo for the dragon that had to earn in the show to just end up being an plot card for Yusei and it might have just been Yusei dragon since the made Life stream dragon anime effect just to help him, though that is not as bad as what the manga did to Leo and Luna since how I see it the manga did not do anything good or interesting with Leo and Luna in the manga and making them duel as one duelist was a really, really stupid decision since it takes away their individual with their duel skilling as well as the independence they had from each that they had in the anime since the 5d anime they could at least do things away from each other showing that they could handle a task or a duel by themselves than when they were together you could see how they brought out the best in each other, though I know the anime did not really do a good job of that as well and more of the idea of what Leo and Luna can do by themselves and not really feel that Leo or Luna were bring out the best in each other with having their decks mix together, another problem is the cards they had in the manga was really weak from the monster cards they had in their main deck, to most of Leo equip spells, to their bargain bin weaker duel dragon version of their dragons they had to use in the manga and they only had a few cards that could be seen as interesting and at least with Luna cards in the anime her cards were somewhat useful and they had their user and while Luna cards are not part of an archetype her cards still fit her and they stand out even her plant monster that she use which show that her bond and connection with Akiza had a bit influence on her deck though manga Luna’s monster don't really stand out as being that interest or do they have any good effect that can do anything besides helping with them get out their dragon which I have already said are not that good , though the worst part about it all the only character they could have a on screen duel with was Mr. prefect himself Yusei who they obviously could not win against because of the plot of the manga making sure they lose and the manga did not make it so they lost in a good way that made sense since in both of Leo and Luna duels with Yusei they could of done better and at least and they could of even won in one of their duel with Yusei, though the real annoy part is it not like the person who wrote the manga had a reason for Leo and Luna to even be in the manga or any interesting role for them beside a shock value at them being evil which lost its impact after the writer decide to have crow make some dumb jokes with Leo, dueling Yusei which was an below average duel that could have been done by any other side character and then just for pointless nostalgia pandering for when Yusei use all of their dragons to summon out his ultimate stardust boss monster like he did in the anime though the writer did not really earn the right to do that so that moment in the manga felt hollow and that not even getting into most of the other insulting and disrespectful things they manga did to Leo while he was in that awful manga and people really need to ask the question that if Yusei little friend Sect in the manga is getting treated better then Leo, Luna and Akiza who are main characters in the 5d anime and are a part of what is good about the anime then the manga storyline is really not that good

Also am I the only one who didn’t like the ending? While many fans praise the ending of 5Ds, I find it lacks cohesion and depth. The dismantling of Team 5Ds felt random and forced, especially Jack’s abrupt farewell to Carly and the twins’ exit, which lacked context about their parents. Aki’s sudden decision to become a doctor felt out of place, as it was never established earlier. Yusei’s choice to remain behind and pursue a scientific career seemed equally random, especially given the lack of emotional closure as everyone left him alone for eight years. The series also neglected key characters like Rally and Taka, leaving their fates unexplained. I prefer the manga's ending, where Yusei is surrounded by friends, offering a more complete sense of closure. Overall, while I acknowledge others may enjoy this ending, I find it mediocre due to unresolved plot threads and character arcs.

Correction on some misinformation you stated on Aki's section: it wasn't Aki's seiyuu that had the controversy with the cult, it was Carly's. Meaning there was no real reason to put Aki in the background at all other than plain bad writing. Now, there is some correlation to the arcadia movement being erased by episode 65 due to Carly's seiyuu's controversy, and resulting in Aki losing her main story plot, but that goes back to lazy writing since they could have made a new plot or ANYTHING from her if not the Arcadia movement.

Now, 5D's is my favorite of the series, but you're right. Most of these were my complaints. Also Divine could've been used during the Arcadia Arc that never happened. He actually survived the Earthbound. Somehow this man cheated death TWICE in this series. (Though it was only revealed he was alive in an artbook.) But Aki was one of my favorite characters with such a cool deck, and I was PISSED at what happened in part 2. And I never was a crow fan, but him taking 3rd MC slot may have been part of my reason for actually disliking him. And yeah, somehow Ruka got it even worse somehow, it just doesn't feel as bad because she never felt as 'major' compared to Aki. But Not even having a deck feels bad, even to this day. And lastly, Sherry is proof the creators had NO idea what they were doing in Season 2. No plans at all. I can remember rewatching this whole series with my sister and basically telling her "Yeah, Part 2 has a LOT of problems." She was wondering about things with Sly for example, and I just had to laugh in my head knowing they introduced him, set up future ideas with him, and then dropped him without warning.

This is where I'm at. The 2nd half of 5Ds had great moments but it's also mixed in with some real bad moments too. Although a lot of issues really stand out at the beginning but Arc Cradle was a good Arc and Yusei vs Jack one last time wasn't needed but still a fun duel to watch
@Alzilla092 ай бұрын
@@ryukami404Sorry but I found the Arc Cradle arc mediocre in my opinion. While I did enjoy it…it didn’t had the same level as the Dark Signer arc did. But Bruno’s death was a real punch to the gut. Season two is just okay in my opinion not bad but not good either but still enjoyable despite the major flaws and inconsistencies.

I'm speechless😊. I never had issues when watching original trading card games back then more than now like me guessing and speculating what happens and who wins is for takes all the fun out of it. But Zwijo beats Manabu😂 unless he beats him and summons chicken and this is the third time a main protagonist/rival shows his ace and loses which I don't mind.

here's the problem with Yusei's character after just seeing this video His goal was to get to new domino city and get his stardust dragon back from Jack who betrayed him....then the plot stopped being about him and transitioned to Jack Luna Akiza yusei being signers Goodwin wanted to use him for his own evil deeds.....Crow was never suppose to be a signer he was suppose to be a dark signer Crash town arc again this wasn't really about Yusei more about Kalin and getting him back um the WRGP arc that was suppose to be Akiza's redemption arc but carlys VA had to get herself into trouble by joining a cult, which banished the arcadia movment to the shadow realm when they were meant to be the main bad guys of the WRGP arc with sayer coming back The final arc whilst that was cool and we got to see the debut of Shooting Quasar Dragon it felt rushed however am i going to lie and say i didn't enjoy it I did enjoy it....am i going to lie and say agree with some of your views no no i dont Crows blackwing cards are why crow became a signer

The carly and aki stuff are false. Carly's VA's cult investagion happened in 2010 which was after she did her recordings for carly. They probably just decided they weren't confident on what to do which either characters which isnt new for female yugioh characters before and after this series( idk about sevens havent watched yet)

@@AlexisStreamsI'd rather chalk up the idiocy to outside factors too; it _does_ seem incredible that anybody could be SO stupid when writing is their profession, but such is life. Until we finally get behind-the-scenes details - which if it hasn't happened by now it's safe to assume it never will - the facts point squarely at Yoshida and Ono being f%&^wits. You know imma fix this part right now you combine the psychic duelist to the future plot u make it that divine or sayer trying to use the reactor of yusei dad to open a portal to the future that’s being powered by the psychic duelist that way u can tackle 2 things at the time and we would get the yusei vs sayer duel heck u can make sayer be the big bad until zone appears heck imma take it even further instead of team new world we replace them with a psychic duelist team called team psycho Arcadia and have them injured crow so akiza takes his spot in the finals boom like that I tackled 2 plot lines that could’ve been really good for the series and made akiza important to the story as well

My sequel to 5ds had Kalin become a Psychic Duelist. It was hinted that(but not properly explained) that after he got revived, he somehow kept some of the Dark Signers' power. This was made even more noticeable when he fully knocked out Lawton with Infernity Doomslinger.

GX also NEVER aired season 4 as a English dub and the reason why WAS to actually start showing 5'DS episodes, as for Zexal it did get a English dub but only the first 2 seasons got a 4kidstv dub and as of 2013 once 4kidstv back then NO longer exists the rest of Yu gi oh Zexal WENT WITH IT. Arc 5/VRAINS the only dubs in English are online. Yu Gi oh 7's also has a online English dub Go rush its direct sequel never left Japan though.

@genyakozlov13162 ай бұрын
Oh yes, a boring boss rush, truly the peak of Yu-Gi-Oh together with a boring tournament (Battle City). The best duel in the Dark Signers arc is the Rua and Ruka one, because it's mostly a cool isekai in the vein of Narnia instead of a stale card game this franchise was railroaded into after season 0 ended. Jack and Aki duels are good too, I'll admit, because they are also mostly about storytelling and not the card game. You could replace Duel Monsters with another shadow game, and the drama would still be good. Despite Bomber being my favourite season 1 character, Crow's duel is a bit worse because Crow isn't a very compelling character, but they salvage it with his cool bike tricks of trying not to fall to his death, and the fact it's not a signer who is fighting, making it less about fate. All duels Yusei participates after the one where Martha died are absolutely awful. After great loss to Kiryu, really pumping up the stakes, and a devastating win to Godwin's brother where he lost two people dear to him, he gets an absolutely awful rematch with Kiryu, one of the worst duels ever, which is both too short, and retcons the backstory given to us in the first duel, where apparently Kiryu did not kill that officer after all, but was still a psychopath who attacked children, both ruining the striking visual of him covered in blood from the last flashback, and making him less sympathetic right before we're supposed to feel bad for him. Then we get a boring duel, as neither Yusei nor Godwin's brother are compelling characters so unlike Crow vs Bomber neither can carry my interest. And lastly the end of season 1 Godwin's triple duel, is an improvement over GX's season 1 final boss, but at least that wasn't the end of the season there, Judai vs Kaiser was, and it was cool, this isn't. The plot twist of Godwin's betrayal was set up since the first episode, as he is the obvious main villain since the start, yet somehow it still came off rushed and unbelievable. The King of Hell was also never foreshadowed and only exists for the spectacle and to give the signers without bikes something to do, as the ticking timebomb nature of the situation never influences the duel. It tries to be epic but unlike the Z-one duel where Yusei gets thrown through buildings I never feel the scope here. The aftermath is also rushed to heck, and bringing everyone back diminishes the entire arc, and only with Bomber and Kiryu does it pay off. Bruno was never brought back to life, and he was a robot so it would be more believable than dark magic which resurrected the dead to do its biding bringing those dead people back to life after it disappeared. Arc Cradle actually has the same amount of good duels as Dark Signers: four great ones, one decent one, but it only has five duels, not 8, which I count from the moment they arrive in Satellite, as before then the arc wasn't a boss rush so I seperate it like Battle City Finals being a separate arc. I cried every duel during Arc Cradle, I only cried for Jack and Aki during Dark Signers. To say DS is a better arc, let alone the best arc, is ludicrous to me. Season 1 needed to be longer with more filler episodes, as without them I can't care for the characters, which is why Arc Cradle hits harder. I could never care about Jim Cook in GX because he got no filler episodes, so I didn't know him well enough, despite how cool he is. Too much slice of life is a small problem, not enough slice of life is a massive problem.

@@genyakozlov1316 I see where you're coming from, and you make some strong points about the Dark Signers arc and the storytelling in general. I agree that the duels with Jack and Aki are more about the emotional stakes than the cards themselves, which is why they stand out. But for me, the Dark Signers arc is compelling because of the high tension, the way the stakes escalate, and the personal stakes for the characters-especially with the unique setting and the focus on their growth. As for Yusei’s duels after season 1, I can understand why they might feel lackluster, especially with the rematch against Kiryu. But I think those later duels are important for showing Yusei's growth as a character-sometimes, it’s less about the duel itself and more about the emotional resolution. Plus I also feel that his duel with Rudger Godwin was very emotional due to Rudger being responsible for betraying Yusei's father and causing Zero Reverse despite him being manipulated to do it. While I do think Arc Cradle had its own emotional moments even though I still don't like it, I still feel the Dark Signers arc had a more consistent level of intensity and drama that really kept me engaged from start to finish. It's definitely a matter of perspective, though-each arc has its strengths, and I think both Dark Signers and Arc Cradle bring something valuable to the table in terms of character development and emotional payoff.

In Hungary Yu-Gi-Oh aired really weird. Duel Monsters only aired till episode 48, the last episode of Dungeon Dice monsters never aired. Gx first season aired in 2006, the second in 2014. But 5D's had the weirdest, the whole first two season skipped, started with 65 and ended with episode 110, middle of the arc and when it ended the next day Zexal started and aired till episode 98. After all these years airing 5d's this way still seems pointless, it would have better it that channel bought the whole Zexal. And with these 4 out 8 series aired in Hungary, but none of them completely.
