This week has kicked off action packed and there really is a bunch I wanted to cover today. SpaceX Starship updates as we watch them gear up for Integrated Flight Test 3. The breaking news is SpaceX ripping apart the old vertical water tank in this past day. Why the SpaceX Tank Destruction!? We are still looking into this. Regardless, with this, work at the suborbital pads, huge Masseys upgrades, and a new tower to be erected, big changes are coming to Starbase!
Along with a bunch of Falcon 9 action with the new direct to cell Starlink mission, and Ovzon. The Vulcan Centaur rocket is 'go' for the historic Jan. 8 moon launch. Artemis 1 Orion footage was shared by NASA recently and it is an amazing re-entry profile to dive deeper into. Finally, stay tuned because we’ve been working on a neat surprise to finish this video off. Goodbye 2023!

Replace it with herbal teas like dandelion, lavender, chamomile, etc. Green tea and black tea soften the teeth enamel, causing discoloration and physical damage. Actually the technology for skip reentry existed during Apollo and was programmed into the Command Module computer. There is an urban legend that the astronauts objected to it so it was never used, but that's not the reason, they didn't use it simply because they didn't need to as the ablative heat shield was adequate. It was known as the P65 program, they kept it available in case they needed to land long as the P65 skip maneuver could extend landing range thousands of miles. They actually did partially use it in Apollo 11 because of an iffy weather forecast for the initial planned splashdown area. The crew was instructed to run P65, but using parameters that caused the capsule to only climb back up a bit but not actually leave the atmosphere, this extended the landing range a couple hundred miles. You can see this in the transcripts where the crew is told by CAPCOM _"You'll get P65, but no P66."_ P66 was the program for reentering after a skip, but since they weren't exiting the atmosphere they didn't need it and they went straight to P67 which was the guidance program for the final part of reentry.

I think Spacex would be crazy to put all the launch hardware on the second tower. They should absolutely have a dedicated catch tower until the landings have been demonstrated and proven like falcon landings.

Dear Marcus, Your words on 18:16 and the following Composition of 2023 Videos gave me true goosebumpts. I always talk with a lot of different people in my daily life, and it seems like most of them are only talking about what humans do bad on earth. The Ukrainian war, the Gaza war, the natural catastrophies - climate change, etc.. Meanwhile nobody knows about what great things are happening in the space-technology realm. When I ask them how many Rocket-Launches there have happened this year - they often have no clue at all. When I see the footage-collection you are presenting there, together with your words: 'These Humans made on earth, can do amazing things' - This made me proud to be one of those humans. Seeing all of this inspires me to give my best, to have big dreams for the future and also to shift my focus on the great and productive things happening on earth. I want to send out a huge thank you from Germany, as I watched your videos repeatingly this year to stay updated and well surprised about the amazing things happening at SpaceX. What is undeniable is the improved video angles of all these launches. Used to be such static, engineering cams... now they have drones on many of them, and angles that are just fun. It all looks so much more cinematic which is a great way to engage the public. I really have to hand it to Rocket Labs. They have consistently been on their A game, both in terms of launches and naming their missions. ISRO has also made huge steps forward and created a really stable launch platform as well. LOTS of experimental stuff from many companies, and even when they fail it pushes us forward. It has been really nice to see our dreams reaching farther than our grasp for the first time in decades... because that's when we grow the most. Humanity is at its best when we have enormous dreams. Love the shout out to RGV... been watching since this entire thing started as well, back when it was just a small pile of dirt, a tent, and a dream everyone said was stupid. My how things have changed since then. Don't think I'll ever forget the raw excitement as Hopper started coming together, as rough and DIY as it looked, and then it made that first flight, just to prove it could.

Marcus has an appropriate appreciation for the various competencies that are being mastered by the SpaceX teams. Anyone working with complicated processes understands the value of these skills to the overall mission. Methods can be taught skills are mastered and refined through hands-on experience. The future is so exciting. The trick is to focus attention in all those places and try to ignore the negative press. They seem to want everyone paralysed in fear instead of seeing all the wonderful things humans are doing. We are clever monkeys. :) Make no mistake, we will solve the issues that need solving. Eventually we will crack fusion and have almost limitless energy when mixed with renewables. Once we all stop fighting over silly resources like oil, the world will be a much better place.
