My Jimny 5 door is wonderful now I have acclimatised to its character. I was a little scared on freeway in windy mountain passes passing trucks, at first but you get use to it. I love the fact on highway I can go slow, other drivers are aware the Jimny isn’t a fast car so they accommodate you going slower than them, it is almost like they know and the cute exterior allows them to accommodate you. The Jimny has that old nursery story of the train that can get over the hill, it just can. It is comfortable cruiser and although not a sports car has that vibe with the revy engine and the scary suspension at speed of needing to be brave but all the rewards if you are, it is just fun on and off road. Nice vid.

In Germany we simply call it "Baby G", and not only because of Jimny's obvious G-type silhouette. Myself being a Subaru Forester SG owner (5 speed manual + low gear) I am confortable with the compromise between a good touring car that actually can take several off-road challanges inside the range of AWD. If I would have the space, money and time to maintain a hunting-only-rig, it indeed would be a Jimny. Greetings from Tyskland.

I agree with every word you said about the Jimny. I have the three door version with rear seats. This is the last car I will ever own. After three years, I still turn around and look at it with a smile. It is far from the fanciest of cars but it never pretended to be. It’s a car that is a great city car as well as a car that can take you places other cars can’t. It’s a car you can personalize with whatever gear you like from Amazon and AliExpress. I’ve made a lot of modifications to my Jimny. From designing the roof rack & ladder and have it manufactured locally, to better shock absorbers, to diff-lockers front and rear, to better storage in the cabin, and a lot more. Sadly it is no longer available as new in the EU. Due to pretty low sales numbers and stricter emission regulations in the EU Suzuki pulled it from the European market. Meaning, only used ones will be available from now on and the price will increase over time. I’m lucky not living in the EU anymore. Here in Central America I see a lot of Jimny’s everyday. It is the best car I have ever had.

@nickmogensen Thank you for an excellent video. I couldn't agree more with every word! My first vehicle, and still my current one, is a diesel Land Cruiser 79 Double Cab Pickup truck. It's a fantastic, straightforward vehicle with no electronics whatsoever, because I have the version with the 1HZ engine. Recently, me and my family has found ourselves in need of a second vehicle. For a more city-friendly and economical option, I am seriously considering the four-door Suzuki Jimny. In many ways, it’s just as simple a vehicle as the Land Cruiser 70 Series, featuring solid axles, a transfer case, and a straightforward engine. My only regret is that the Jimny doesn’t offer a diesel engine option, which I could maintain and repair myself without the need for extensive diagnostic software. The Jimny is one of the last true vehicles still being produced and available in the global consumer market, rather than just in the commercial vehicle sector for specific regions. There aren't many cars like this left, and it’s something we should truly appreciate.

It's true that this Jimney is a fine car but it's too expensive to purchase and for parts. I would stick with the old tech Lada Niva with mountains of affordable spare parts, both for maintaining and for upgrades. Unfortunately with the current conflict I had to sell but there it is (or was) Best to All.

The best car ?.....Nick, you drunk way toooo many whiskey bottles.... Take the G wagon 400d for a ride, and also the Ineos Grenadier Diesel. Also the difficultly available Toyota Landcruiser 300 3.3 D. You will not want to return either of them. But: In one point, you are right ! The price diff is large......and, if drinking heavy waters it your prime mode of enjoyment, yes, then for a price diff of around 60 k you could buy tons of barrels of Scotish Whiskey..... My favourite is the Toyota 300, as the Mercedes is stellar in price, and for travelling Ineos does not yet have enough partners.... We had one Suzy , manual w/ Diesel, which we had hitched up at the rear of our Kamaz 6x6 offroad truck, while driving in Central Asia and RU, right up to Malaysia and Viet Nam....
