Spice guidance kits, being sent to Israel by the U.S., attach to 1,000 or 2,000 pound “dumb” bombs, turning them into precision guided munitions. The goal of guidance kits like Spice and JDAMs is to enhance accuracy while minimizing non-combatant casualties. As Israel continues to target Hamas, concerns of civilian casualties in Gaza remain a critical issue.

The thing is, the jet has to get pretty close (in the grand scheme of the battlefield) to the target the bomb is hitting. In the current stage of the war that is focusing on defense, the Ukrainian air force would be challenged to operate so close to Russian air defenses. In Israel's case these are extremely valuable since the area they are fighting in is only slightly bigger than New Jersey, meanwhile Ukraine is the size of half the US and has to cover much more air space. Israel has cooperated with Ukraine in the past, such as letting Ukraine domestically produce Israeli firearms and Israel donating Mitznefet helmet covers to Ukraine, but right now with a risk of a large scale war erupting on Israel's northern border, Israel has to prioritize their own security first. Unfortunately these types of bombs would not work very well for Ukraine at the moment. What they need is artillery shells and long distance cruise missiles. In the future smart bombs would be a good addition to the Ukrainian arsenal but, as of now, they wouldn't be useful.

In the global stage, a crime being committed by a government representing a State is very serious due to the systematic nature of its action. no, but war is a dirty affair. listen I don't believe in a death penalty, its barbaric in my opinion plus its better to 10 murders be free rather then punish a single innocent, atleast then the innocent might be concepted for their time taken. but their acceptable civilian causalities, Israel has its problems, although frankly I personally not against a one state solution with in them charge anymore. to expect perfection, is silly. what you should expected is that country like Israel should exclusively use smart munitions when launching such things. they have no excuse not too. This isn't really a case of Authoratian Utiltarnism. I don't jknow just kind of Self evident. a country take all reasonable measures to prevent causalities among both their own and foreign civilians, giveing warning and time to evaculate, smart muntions, etc etc. this does make proctoring a war against an asymmetrical force difficult. Most of this is done pretty by the books. Civilian Casulties why higher then they morally should be (0), are realistically very low for what one would expect of siege of a city and its hinterlands. nothing is going to be perfect, a bullet will go through wall too. its just self evident, like. if you belived they were targeting civilinas, I'd personally disagree but then you would have a reasonable thing to be mad at but I don't understand your pov. like what do expect, I know asking "what do you expect" is often a sort of rhetorical phrasing, but genuinely I am asking. how to expect war to be fought?

When you watch WSJ's video @0:10 you think the USA is giving Israel these SPICE bomb kits. Rafael is an Israeli company, it has a branch in the US that gives Americans jobs. Rafael US is sending Rafael IL the kits. Media would have you think that US is kindly giving Israel bombs instead of Israel giving Americans jobs. At least in this case.

Spice is optical plus inertial and GPS, JDAM is inertial and GPS only, Paveway is Laser spot tracking I think current ones are 4th generation first used to drop Major railway bridges in North Vietnam in 1970"s.

They can be used on unloaded concrete filled MK84 casings or a similar shape with snap out steel blades for no explosive single target kill device already done with some smaller missiles. Lots of options depending on what parts fit what bomb casings.

If they wanted to protect their kids, all they had to do at this point is to release the hostages and lay down their arms, but I guess that their egos are more important than the lives of their own children. I'm sorry, but you sound like a young and naive video gamer, honestly. This is REAL WAR. Real wars are sad and terrible, there are unwanted civilian casualties, but unlike video games, there are no "special moves" or "magic" solutions in wars and sometimes, your options only vary between "Bad", "Terrible" and "Horrible". In this specific situation every other country would have ended with exactly the same results if not the far worse ones. You should be thankful, that you have the privilege of not having to choose your life over someone else's.

There was a show in the 1960s where they showed computer simulated attacks but the people had to step into real eliminators to equal the promised casualties the computer came up with. Maybe that would make everyone happy here? Just guess with computers how many were supposed to be hit and then they go into the eliminator machines which both sides has a record of how many go in - and don't come back out.
