here in the Midwest the Asian carp often have kill on sight orders for fisherman. In many places it's actually illegal to catch and release them. At least here in Nebraska, we have a bloodlust for Asian carp.

I live in Northern Illinois and they're really trying to change the name of the fish to "Silverfin" in an attempt to hopefully attract eaters. People hear "carp" and they think "trash fish" but I had a taco made with one and it was just as good as any other fish taco I've had. It's boney so things like tacos, burgers, anything ground really. And renaming a fish to make it more commercial has worked before: Orange Roughy was renamed from "Pacific smilehead" and Chilean Sea Bass, which sells for freaking $30/lb, was the Patagonian toothfish. In fact it worked *so* well for the Chilean Sea Bass that poaching has nearly collapsed fisheries several times. Which if it happens to the Silverfin...I'd be fine with that.

It was, but the challenge wasn't met. Most states with waters in the Mississippi system have made desperate attempts to destroy these fish both with laws banning anyone who catches one from releasing it, so-called "kill on sight" orders, encouraging massive fishing of them, bowfishing (the bow and arrow thing he mentioned), shooting them (it doesn't work and is stupidly dangerous, but people tried it), and pushing recipes for them to encourage people to eat them.

Your discussion of the invasive species of the domestic cat gave me an idea to counter the “not enough demand to overfish” situation. Commercial cat food. Fish-flavored cat food is very common. Part of the issue is keeping an invasive animal fed results in many healthy offspring (although introducing birth control to the food would help) a whole lot of fish would kill a common cat. 5:20 Tortoiseshell Calicos are my absolute favorite. That aside, I would propose a automated remote tactile transducer or even something as simple as a vibration motor that would be remotely and/or scheduled to activate after a large bin/netting/capture basin retracts. Then as it activates it would be anchored to the riverbed on shock mounts and move itself up and down a shaft from max depth to almost surface. Also as it activates, pnumatic solenoids extend the bin to catch the flailing carp. Another idea would be to drop small vibrating and eccentric objects from drones and account for the speed of the river to try and catch the fish after they jump into a downriver bin. Both ideas would only need remote timing and control and would not require onsite humans to minimise risk.

If we’re talking about deadly bodies of water, let me tell you about the dread I feel when I think of the Bolton Strid. While the water itself doesn’t have any properties such as being electrified or radioactive, it is deadly. Do not let the photos of it fall you, it is not an idyllic stream. In reality, it is a river forced onto its side that is believed to not have had a single person survive falling in. If you fall in then that’s it for you. The Bolton Strid will be your grave as the currents drag you down into the hidden caverns below, obliterating you against the rocks along the way. Learning about it has given me a very healthy respect for bodies of water and probably a new phobia.

Reasons to keep your cat inside: -Longer lifespan for your cat (outdoor cats average 2-5yrs, indoor cats can live to be over 15) -They cause insurmountable damage to ecosystems (domestic cats kill more birds than wind turbines) -They can easily contract toxoplasmosis, the effects of which are grossly under-researched in humans; and it can also cause livetsock animals to miscarry (if your farm has a rodent problem, setting up nesting spaces for owls will help out a hell of a lot more) If your cat screams and wails and destroys things if you don't let her outside, play with her! harness train her to take her on walks! give her supervised outdoor time! if you can't entertain an animal that sleeps for roughly 18 hours a day, maybe don't have one.

Awh wittle kitty is so cute *and* talented... _Whos responsible for the extinction of 1/3 of small animal species?_ *We are, because as cat owners we should take the responsibility upon ourselves to limit this by keeping cats indoors as well as spaying and neutering our animals. Not only to protect wildlife, but to protect cats, as each time a female cat gets pregnant its chances of developing cancer skyrocket* _Thats right, we are!_ :3

I think you should let your cats go outside but you'd probably have to keep an eye on them so they don't die or get lost. If you live in a city and are afraid of a car hitting them brutally or that a dog might attack them then you can go outside and walk with them but you'd have to buy the special leash for cats (ya know the one that isn't around their neck cause that's stressful for em). And if you live in a village/countryside then you can let em roam around freely for a few hours and let em in the house if you're afraid of other cats attacking them.

@@istoleyourjams270 you can’t let them roam around freely because they are murder machines. They decimate bird and small animal populations, then clean all the blood off of themselves. Because they don’t belong here. But I do love my cat! She just has to stay inside unless on her leash

I love how there isn't just a "shut off the power" switch in a situation where someone falls in. You just flip a coin with your life on the line and no one will help you...The lakes are far more valuable than a single human life.

@NateMonoxide
@NateMonoxide 4 жыл бұрын
@@xPanda25 yes, the qualifier is made in the video. Which means the title is clickbait and wrong. Is it the most dangerous water in the world? No. Is it the most dangerous man-made water in the world? Only hypothetically. Nobody has died there. Plenty of people have drowned in quarries, which would count as man-made bodies of water. However you look at it, the claim just isn't true.
