I have placed an order for a Volare Pro. Coming from a kahele, just curious if I am 90kg dry weight, 6'2" and place my foot pedal adjustment all the way forward will my flat water speeds be better than seating myself all the way back or in the middle?

From the feedback we are getting from everyone, this seems to be case. You are a bit taller than average but moving the brace and seat forward will help get the nose down a little to break the water.

@@PuakeaDesigns I’m 170lbs. I’d imagine being lighter than @subliminallyinc I should probably always be as far forward as possible, correct?

I’m 170lbs, 5’8. Have a Volare on order that just showed up to the east coast. I paddle in the ocean off Long Island , NY and plan on surfing the rolling waves of the inlet and down winding. Have an option to go with a Kahele if I want. Any recommendations?

Which OC1 did you go with, the Volare or Kahele? How’s your experience and how are you liking your new canoe? I’m taller at 6’2” right now 180#s. Once I get into better shape, I will add about another 5#s. Which canoe would you recommend mostly for flat water? Sadly, I have to move away from the ocean to the Lake District in BC. I don’t have an opportunity to demo these canoes.

@@ShikokuFoodForest Went with the Volare. It’s the only OC1 I’ve paddled so couldn’t compare to anything else. I’m still very much a beginner so couldn’t give you much advice

@@Bido11561 Thanks. Where are you paddling? Do you live next to the ocean? How’s the learning curve on an OC1 going for you so far?

@@ShikokuFoodForest South Shore Long Island NY. Haven’t paddled in much big water yet. Mostly flat conditions. Took some getting used to but not rocket science
