As someone who has been going to the Phoenix Open (WMO) since I was a kid, it's nothing like the great tournaments I remembered growing up. The crowd was loud but respectful. People were there for the golf. It was truly a great viewing experience. Nowadays, I wouldn't go anywhere near that event. On top of the insane crowds, the frat environment that has culminated in the last five years has killed any enjoyment. It's nearly impossible to watch golf unless you're in a sky box. It went from a few people that I knew were interested in going to EVERY SINGLE PERSON. I don't mind it growing in popularity but it attracted the absolute worst crowds imaginable for golf Golf needs new fans but these people aren't longterm fans. Far from it.
