Keep in mind that you can get BT ammo early on if your scav spawns with an MP-18. The break action usually spawns with 60-80 rounds of BT for some reason which is pretty crazy cause that's almost equivalent to the old AI hunter scavs that spawned with M61 in their 10 round mags.

You should also mention using the lower pen 54r rounds against lvl 5. You would still get a 2 shot kill since the second shot will pen and combined with the blunt damage your target will die.

I’ll also add to this in that reloading by top-loading is a much quicker way to gain skill points. Top loading gains about 0.1 xp per reload, whereas reloading with a mag takes several reloads to gain the same amount.

Tbf I gladly pay the additional 10-20k roubles per SVD instead of taking the missfire-gamble. As a Standard Version player, nothing feels worse to me than not being able to kill a PMC due to a jam, being that close to the epsilon container - one of the biggest wipe checkpoints for me. Regarding the one shot potential T-46M sounds pretty sexy nonetheless!

5:27 I have to correct you here because the T-46M does not take 5% of the recoil, but (5) by saying that it takes% of the recoil you are misleading new players because they will think (if the weapon has 150 recoil I will have 142.5) and in fact it will be 145. @@jehreetv yes, my basics are 2 years of testing, currently the best example is the caliber 5.45x39 and the 7N40 shells which significantly reduce the recoil of the weapon, and we all know well (unless you are not aware of it) the recoil percentage is subtracted from the base weapon stats, no matter that the weapon has 101 recoil (base 155) if a given item subtracts 5%, it means 5% of the value 155

Its been like 20-23k for the red gunpowder for 80 rounds, bringing your total to about 250-300 roubles per round and the ability to onetap headshot anyone or 2tap chestshot anyone.

Ah yes, i had a look at the wiki ammo chart back when i had to do shooter 1 (the ironsight sniper one) & quickly concluded that all the 762x54r is equally nasty. Sure there are small differences of cause, but it isnt like other ammo where one has 39 pen & another only has 3. A couple of stacks of LPS was enough to deal with the scavs at least.

This is a really interesting analysis, but outside of maybe factory running, the 1 in 5 chance to 1 shot class 4 is statisticaly balanced out by the probability of running into someone wearing class 5. I had a lovely run in with some gamers yesterday whilst I was using a mosin with BT ammo, consistently dropped all of them in 2 shots, 2 had lvl4 armour, last guy unknown as I got clapped by like a 6th dude in that area... So Mosin sniping, maybe it's not the greatest unless you're going for headshots but for an SVD it'll be more than enough. With the LPS ammo I struggle to kill anything, especially scavs, they seem to tank 4 shots on a good day with no armour and all of these shots register, they just don't give a fuck.

Well even if it did, it doesn't do much damage if it doesn't pen anyway. The issue is rounds sub 20 pen never fragment - the game's ballistic damages appear to be balanced around this fact anyway these days, as RIP does a tonne of damage, you just have to shoot them in the legs!

My brother and I did this with 5.56 Warmageddon. The damage was at 92 so blowing off peoples limbs and knee caps worked super well along with 1 shot head shots if they weren't wearing face shields.

I m just finish punisher part 6 and when I compared the ammo I was surprise about the new stats. The PS is complete nerf because now is complicate get a one tap in the chest. In paper this ammo look good and I was try but I feel for any reason that isn’t consistent. Some time work well and 2 shoot I got a kill but other times I need more that 6!!!! Shoot to kill a bloody scav. I don’t know how that could be even posible. Any way like I am level 29 I don’t have to many options. I will still using the cheap svd that I can fine for around 60.000 rubles (with t46 I didn’t have a block gun yet and I was using weapons with less that 60% durability) even I will mod the svd to increase the ergo and try to use more in cqc

I'm currently mid punisher 6 and when taking an SVD I just use whatevber ammmo I have honestly (well, I avoid BT on long range sniping, so I take it for close range engagements as I got a lot of it from scavs). Headshot kills everytime no matter what they are wearing and I always expect 2 thorax shots as well, as there are so few people running tier 5 or 6 armor.

So I finally bit the bullet so to speak and got the game. i’ve done three raids managing to kill one scav and have been lit up by every player i’ve encountered. can you please make a video for new players who die a lot and might lose all their stuff and how to manage that? like I can do fine on practice runs when it’s non-human players mostly but as soon as it’s a real raid i haven’t even got a shot off except for the scav i killed. I guess my concern is that I’m already at a disadvantage game sense wise and now I don’t even have the M4 as I started with so where do i go from here. i love the game and how punishing it is but if anyone wants to show me the ropes from the comments section i’d appreciated it (willing trade golden rooster for your time)

I think I'll eventually make a proper beginner's guide covering all of the start of the game - gonna be quite a big project though! For your specific situation, it sounds like you're using offline already which is good, but now you have to figure out the safe paths through the map to get to extract. It sounds like you're getting killed too often on your way through. As a new player you have to try to do a lot more "surviving" rather than fighting! Take a look at the maps on the wiki, and investigate the player spawns next. I have some really old guides on the first 5 minutes of a raid, some are still relevant but you can draw lines from the spawns to the "hot zones" to see where people are likely to go -hope that helps

I think it is a little too cramped there so I’m learning woods and customs instead. Gonna try to do a little survival run with some scav gear I acquired soon as I get a path down. Tarkov is definitely a super fun game and extremely challenging which makes it all the more fun to play. My folks lvl up to 50+ now. The players I killed recently on NA Eastern servers are mostly lvl 40 or plus.

This doesn't matter when you scav so much or kill scavs with 40-60 rounds of 7.62 x 54r on their pockets, i have over 1000 rounds of BT at lvl 15, farming scavs in interchange

The heat, misfeed info etc is on the round itself in game. So that is an easy fix and you don't need to check any crazy locations.

I want BSG to add more semi 54R guns. Give us the SVT-40 or even the VEPR hunter in 54R. VEPR made the hunter in everything from .308 to 30-06 🤷‍♂️

Gigabeef Gigabeef. This isn't exactly the case. Its impossible to one shot PMCs due to frag chance. Veritas just posted a video discovering PMCs don't take frag damage from any type of ammo. Making it impossible for you to one shot any other PMC with T-46M. The video was posted 8/30/22.

I still don't think people realise that using lower durability weapons fucks with the accuracy enough to make a difference at 100m shots. the MOA changes a slightly noticeable bit.

My 64 dura SVD is 2.72 MOA so a 16cm circle at 100m. Not using it for range really anyway, but that's about as good as a short barrelled M4 to be fair

Killa is an easy 3 tap with lps, i have in fact done it. But if killa is rushing you, you really do need at least ps to mag dump him at point blank and walk away from that. Of course lps isnt ideal, but it works. As for bosses with no armor, wouldnt less pen, more damage matter more?

Haha nope just been running the most scuffed Punisher 6 loadout of all time - Troy stock, 62 durability, T-46M. Was trying to figure out how to skimp and still win, this was the result!

The "No malfunction over 93%" stat is actually false. There is always a chance for a malfunction, however 93% is when the chance starts to multiply based on durability.

Do you have a source for this? As per the wiki: "Mechanical malfunctions do not occur in weapons with a durability of greater than 93%." I have never had one other than overheating so I think it's right but always open to changing my mind in the face of evidence!

@@Gigabeef I will try to get some direct evidence for you. I apologize for being very direct by saying "it's false". It has happened to me and my friends a few times with brand new, fresh guns. I'll work on getting some clips for you, or finding some from good sources as well! The multiplier idea isn't that far fetched for me either since I have had it happen, but it could have even been a bug at the time. I'll get what I can!

Sure - it did used to be that way when they originally introduced misfires, but when the full system came in they added this 93% thing which should prevent any new guns getting feed/misfire problems - you can see it in the official patch notes too here: www.escapefromtarkov.com/news/id/218?lang=en

I really wish they added the winchester 1895 in 762x54r which were used by the russian army in ww1. It would be setting apropriate and lever guns are sick and also more 762x54r guns the better. I just wanna be a cowboy with a lever gun in russia

i definitely wouldnt be buying a scav svd just to save 14k, 60-80k maybe sure but if that 14k is breaking the bank youd have to be hella broke. also while ~33% for lps vs class 5 might not be 50%, 30% is still 3x higher than the 10 from t46 so keep in mind it WILL pen 3x more often

That was PS not LPS: T46 is 13%, LPS is 18% and PS is 38%. T46 has more armor damage too so the second shot is more likely to go through than the equivalent shot with LPS

If you play maps with sweatier players like reserve/labs its prob worth using better ammo

Yup if you disagree with the assumptions made for the specific map you're going to, then you can choose another ammo like BT or SNB

I crafted a bunch of snb this wipe but find myself using only t-46. My friends wont believe me either when I say its the best round for right now.
