As a person who watches China's development, I'm amazed at how different China and the West is in terms of managing society. The West tends to let private sector decide, and its society is "gone with the wind". They go through history typically aimlessly. In China, the government is the leading force. They have plan and long-term vision. No one can predict the future, but by having long-term vision, one can follow through challenging goals. The leadership (in China) can adapt to new circumstances quickly if it is worth it. For example, Fusion tech is far from reality (it may take 40 years more). So China now focuses on Green Energy (Solar, Wind) as well as Thorium-based nuclear power. But if someday someguy figures out how to exactly solve Fusion issue, China can rapidly adapt to the new direction. And in this case, no one in Chinese society would complain (or be allowed to complain) about wasteful resources for Thorium-based ones.

China was banned from ISS and then it made it's own space station. If everyone else is allowed to learn, why can't China? Because China could actually become better? USA works when they see competition. People think they went to the moon for humanity etc, But because to overtake USSR in 60s. Similarly now when suddenly China, India, Japan in last 5 years launched multiple moon missions they saw it as threat. But now things are different, India and Japan is not doing for competition against each other. Meanwhile China and USA are doing for their image to reach and capture

The biggest problem with the Artemis Accord is... CREDIBILITY! The US is well-known for tearing up treaties and accords throughout its history. The US government has torn up, dismissed, ignored, rescinded... over 300 treaties with the Native Americans to take over their land (what to guarantee the US won't do the same on the moon), created excuses to go to war with Mexico to take their land to build the United States. How about the many international treaties such as the Paris Accord during the Vietnam War, the recent reduced Nuclear Missiles deal with Russia, the recent Iran Nuclear Deal with Iran and the US allies, the Kyoto Protocol, etc. Also, the US is a signer and backer for Israel to take Palestinians' land to create their own nation and still... spreading their illegal settlements. The US is not operating on accords and treaties, but on military power and ego.

It's sad that it needs to be a competition with dictators in order for us to explore space. Whatever it takes, I guess.
@user-fs5jfo9h8xАй бұрын
And ironically America as a nation is the biggest dictator on this planet.They banned NASA from cooperating with China,they don't want China to compete in space exploration in the first place, It's not China wants to compete with the US in a race of bringing human back to the moon, it's the US wanna maintain its hegemony,so they can't be inferior in any field,which makes them look weak,it exactly is a cold-war ideology.But China doesn't even say it's competing with USA in space exploration since they clearly know they are behind.

The first discovery of water on Moon was by Indian probe Chandrayaan 1 in 2008. In fact this discovery is one of the crucial reasons for rekindling of interest in missions to the Moon. Secondly last year India was the first or second country which landed on the far side of the Moon... a feat which even USA couldnt accomplish. Another biased presentation by a Western media ignoring India's achievements, which are all the more incredible considering the significantly less amount spent on it.
