After ONE minute of your video, I started laughing... ALL French kids start in school by learning cursive writing. Print writing is just NOT taught ! So the French AMZ market is full of cursive writing books if you ever need inspiration ! The only problem on the French market is that people use American lining... which doesn't fit the French official calligraphy ! But some do it right ;-)

Now in comparison with spiral bound, hard back and leather covers , do our standard paperbacks sell well? The reason why I am asking is, for example, when you search for a log book or notebook, most of the entries in the search results on the first page seem to be that of spiral bound, leather covers etc. with tonnes of reviews. Just searching for ‘notebook’ or ‘log book’ will get you a lot of spiral or leather bound. But when you get more specific or niche down you’ll see the soft cover types sell very well indeed.

I don’t normally do that at the moment as it’s more getting into the 1:1 coaching or mentoring which I may start doing soon. However, if you publish it, it is very easy to unpublish and just create another publication by copying and pasting most of the original data fields. That way I can see it through the customers eyes.

No, you certainly don’t nee to subscribe to these tools. Just using the Amazon search bar is enough. It will take little longer than if you have the tools but not significantly so.

The top selling cursive writing books are running intensive kdp ad campaigns , so in reality their profit revenue is far lower than you imply. The only way to rank your book in the top 5 spots for the main searches would be an equally intensive ad campaign. Amazon does not rank new books in competitive niches anymore unless you are paying for those positions. Amazon wants you to pay for that privilege. You could do a hundred of these books and all of them will sit in no mans land.

If you go to Amazon com, type in Cursive handwriting workbook, see the 1000 results Paul spoke of, click through the first 7 pages of results, you'll see the 1000 switch to 10,000. However, dig a little deeper and you'll see that the results change from cursive handwriting workbooks to results that include irrelevant book titles. Things like calligraphy and business writing. This means that when you upload a relevant title that includes "cursive handwriting workbook", your book is likely to show in results before these irrelevant titles. To further ensure good placement of your book, add longer tail keywords, where there are less than 1000 results showing. For instance, cursive handwriting workbook for teens, which has only 210 results and some pretty incredible best seller ranks. Hopefully, this helps you find potential :)

I disagree for this particular niche. Have you looked into ad cost in the Amazon ads platform? Because I have. And it doesn’t matter how much you spend in ads if you’re making a profit.And even with out ads you could easily rank high on the first page and make sales.
