Even outside of the story, GTA 4 and RDR1 were great. They might not have as much to do as the games that came after them (GTA 5, RDR2). But they’re still some of the best video games ever made.

RDR, RDR2,GTA4, GTA San Andreas and Bully easily have some of the best storymodes of any game. Also I think The Warriors is the greatest video game based on movie ever made.

I think TakeTwo has absorved the last of Rockstars identity. They knew everyone was begging for a RDR1 remake so the graphics/physics are on par with RDR2. Instead they went for a cash grab that they must have known would upset fans.

this game not being remake is not their downfall lol , game development takes time and effort and rockstar not to type making remakes , they had 8 years on rdr 2 and rdr 1 would take around same , and it would affect next gta , and from business side its useless making red dead remake , it would not bring too much money for them like gta series and there wont be reason to make online

Aside from jack avenging johns death, i dont understand how 1 has a better story than 2. I feel like the story for 1 is too far in the background and its just a carrot on a stick of do this for me and maybe I'll tell you where bill and javier are, for 3/4 of the game...
