I love how there a camp interactions that show he stills loves abigail and jack,he just wants to avoid the responsibilitys.He changes for the better when jack is kidnapped. And likewise with Dutch by the end of Chapter 4, has grown suspicious of him and believes that Abigail has poisoned John against himself. It explains why he was so paranoid of John being the rat at Lemoyne bank job and planned to leave him to swing in Chapter 6.

I think something important to remember is that John's very old fashioned for his time. RDR1 takes place in 1911. 1899 was really pushing it for cowboys and outlaws, but 1911 is just 3 years before WW1. Machines are being automated, cars aren't a fad and are quickly becoming an everyday sight, airplanes are a thing and they're gonna start dropping bombs soon, the roaring 20s are less than 10 years away. Everything about John is really kinda dated for his time

Whenever comparing to photos from the time, you have to keep in mind that photography at the time was still a new thing and quite expensive, so people getting photographs (unless it was at a worksite or taken for legal records such as prison intake etc.) would have more often then not tried to go out of their way to clean and 'pretty up' to look their best for their pictures. It's not like today where most pictures are casual and on the fly with little preparation outside of special occasions, almost every photo back then was a special occasion. It's likely most men shaved before getting pictures, stubble was likely very common most of the time. Same with neatly styled hair. Hair was probably loose and unkempt most of the time, especially when working.

Extra odd since most of the game takes in a desert. I don’t think the scars are accurate, those look like claw scratches and dogs, especially wolves are not known to use claws to hunt, only bites, hence they don’t retract like cat claws, which are used as weapons. If it was a bite rip it would have to be square. And that brings the question why didn’t they just go for his neck as they’re meant to if they could reach his head.

John's height is never specifically stated to be 5'10". People often use "Made Up Characters Wiki" as a source, but information on that site is non-canon. However, 5'10" - 5'11" is a plausible height for John. In the RDR1 mission "Landon Ricketts Rides Again" John mentions that Javier is 5'8". When John and Javier are standing next to each other in "Gates of El Presidio" they seem fairly similar in height, though John in slightly crouching. In addition, Benjamin Byron Davis (Dutch's voice actor) stated that Dutch was canonically 6 foot, which is significantly above average for men at the time (the average male height in that timeframe would be anywhere between 5'6" - 5'8"). In most scenes, Dutch appears to be taller than most male characters, including John and Arthur. So while John and Arthur are certainly above average for the timeframe, they're not 6 foot.

Arthur is 6’ 1 (185 cm) a little smaller than Dutch who is 6’2 foot (188cm) John is 5’11 (179 cm) it makes sense because in a lot of missions in RD2 the people who know arthur and see John says that Arthur was taller . and we know dutch is the tallest
@cantnevercould96604 ай бұрын
@@Nocoincidoconfichajesdelfutbol Like I said, you got this information from "Made-Up Characters Wiki" which is a site that contains non-canon information. Benjamin Byron Davis specifically said that Dutch was 6'0". That information is canon because it came directly from an actor (voice and mo-cap). If Arthur really was 6'1", then he would tower over almost everyone in the game. But he doesn't. He's also not that much taller than Javier, who's 5'8". Arthur is most likely around the 5'10" - 5'11" range, which would be above average male height in 1899.

cowboys are herders, and animal caretakers. Not gunfighters, cowboys did use guns, not colt saa's though, they were expensive, so they mainly used hand me downs, like percussion revolvers, rifles, or cheaper alternatives like Remington Revolvers, Surplus S&W no.3, if we go into the 1880s, and percussion revolvers. Ones who did get them either saved up to get one, or were rich. Mythos that come with cowboys are false, sure Little Arkansas, Billy the Kid, Bass were ranch hands. But they were outlaws, robbers, the only gunfighters who actually had a feared and documented fight: Little Arkansas. He actually knew how to fight hand to hand, and was a deadly gunfighter, but like most. He is mostly a myth, and legend, not too documented. Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday, pretty much chalk up to romanticized versions. In reality, they'd be weaker in real life, not exactly what we see in movies. So the difference in gunfighters: people who have retained a reputation in gunfights, outlaws, lawman, and any other occupation. Cowboys were just ranch hands, basic at everything, or dumb.

Honestly the way that Dutch's gang differs from gangs of the time is almost like a cult, only he didn't have them doing strange things that would be out of the ordinary for gang activity. He was kind of a central personality that a group of people gathered around ideologically. Like a lot of cults though, eventually the idealism meets a reality check, and it all fell apart. I don't think Dutch's gang is implausible along this line of thinking. He's a charismatic man with a strong vision for what freedom means and it spoke to people who were vulnerable like orphans and those who are othered or ostracized, he is skirting that line between gang leader and cult leader.

I'm actually starting my 2nd playthrough of RDR2, and apparently, during the Blackwater Massacre, Javier mentions that John got shot, as well as Davey and Mac Callender, though it could be put up to debate due to the fact there's no evidence or other mentions of John being shot other than this one piece of dialogue, and if anyone's wondering, I'm talking about the 'Enter, Pursued by a Memory' mission in Chapter 1

A good dlc for rdr2 would probably be all the way back to when Arthur was first adopted by Dutch and Hosea, and they could have a time skip of 5 or 6 years each skip being an hour or 2 of story content with 30 minutes or so worth of side content for each time skip all the way until we get to a couple months to a year before the ferry heists. Thats just an idea I thought would be interesting.
