I just got mine a few days ago. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW GOOD THIS PRODUCT IS. First...it's nearly as simple as "plug 'n play". Just plug it in, push one button and 2 hours later you have your completed project. I used to have to wait 24+ hours depending. Second...the results are better than expected. My resin comes out perfect each time. It's like a miracle. Each project is properly cured and no problems with clarity, color, or hardness when done. Now, if I want to experiment I only have to wait a couple of hours instead of a day or more to find my mistakes or successes. This is truly a game changer. I has made my "resin hobby" 10 times more fun. THANKS, Steve.

This is good to know. The time during is why I use UV resin most of the time, but it isn't economical for anything bigger than jewelry.

Actually I've been using a simple food dryer/dehydrator for years. The hot air blowing in a confined space raises the resins temperature so it sets within 2 hours. Otherwise at room temperature it can take a day. You don't need a fancy control system.

the hot resin doesn't damage silicon molds ? ( like, we know that using torch near molds are decreasing its life time so I wonder if hotter resin does the same? )
@RobertA-hq3vz
@RobertA-hq3vz 2 жыл бұрын
@@liliscreations5573 I don't know but I suspect the temperatures involved are too low for that. Around the 50 degree Celsius mark. Food dryers work by low heat over a long time. If you use a large volume of resin then its own exothermic reaction may self heat the mix to very high temperatures but small pieces won't do that.

I stumbled across a low cost alternative to dehydrators and this machine. It's really cold in my house right now so I got a heat mat off Amazon for like AU$10 and put a food storage container over the top. with experimentation, I've found that cranking it up to about 50 degrees (c) cures the resin in about a quarter the time. not as fast as a dehydrator but still much faster than standard curing.

Hi Steve, thank you for the great demo of the resin curing machine. The one thing I noticed about it was the lid. The "handle" is made by indenting the lid. It looks like this keeps the use of the top tray limited to its edges. If the company made the handle in a different way, the entire tray could be used. Just an idea that might be helpful.

I saw this thing marketed as a food dehydrator a year or two ago. It was about half the price. I actually bought a food dehydrator in 2013 to use just for resin. My pieces cured leaving them in it for about half hour, and turning it off and letting them sit for another 20 mins to a half hour inside. You just have to make sure you don't leave them too long because they will yellow quickly.

@@mayasveil6619 haha! It's always helpful to save money. Tell him 'you're welcome' for me. I don't mean to mess up Steve's sales though, I mean no disrespect to him. Maybe he can find a dehydrator on Amazon to share instead? Anyway, mine was just the basic, cheapest one I could find at the time. Think I got it at target. It's round and has like 5 trays. It only has one setting, off and on, no temp control. If I could do it again, I would make sure I bought one with trays that are level, because the one I have, they slope slightly downward toward the middle, which made it a challenge for leveling my molds/resin. As stated above, I left them in for about 30 mins and then turned off. It would stay hot for a while before all the heat dissipated, but even at 30 mins, it was already pretty solid. I am guessing it would depend on the size of item you're making and how much resin is being cured, but I usually made Jewelry size pieces so not very big. My machine was $30 at the time. I am considering looking to get another but I was also trying to figure out if there was some way I can use a large, clear plastic storage container, cut a hole in the top, use some kind of level shelving inside, and set the heating element, which is the top part of my dehydrator inside the hole but resting on the top of the container and use that. It produces quite a bit of heat, so I recommend leaving it outside, or in an area you won't be in, because it may not be a good idea to breathe it in. I used to leave it in my garage. I no longer have a garage but I also haven't used it in a while, but I would probably leave it out on my patio. I also recommend paying attention to the size of the space in-between racks, in case you plan to make larger pieces. Some have narrower racks. Also, a square or rectangle shape would be best for fitting as much as possible inside. *Edited to add: I also recommend getting something with clear shelves so you can check on your pieces without taking it apart. Drawer like shelves that pull in and out are even better, because you don't have to take apart other levels to get to the lower levels. Hope this is helpful.

I was really excited to see that you had this video! I've seen this product and was wondering if it would be worth investing in. It sure looks like it would be! I'm a bit impatient and hate waiting to demold, so this would be really great to have. Thank you!

I was skeptical, but wow, that's amazing. As others said I wonder if a dehydrator would do the same. Might depend on how slowly this comes up to temp & backs down. I hope someone who tries it reports back. I was glad you used glittery stuff & clear & also totally loaded it up. It definitely looks nicer than a dehydrator lol Edit: Reading a few more comments I realized there were concerns re: files from overheating resin. I've not started working with resin yet, but plan to once we move & i have more space. I do wonder if the much shorter cure time balances out the heat resin naturally goes to & causes it to not overheat.

My daughter has promised me one in a few weeks! I use primarily UV for now because of the faster curing, but I prefer 2 part. I don't have a business, but I do make things for family and friends, and now with my granddaughter in school, I do bag clips with initials for her little friends, keychains for teachers and a keepsake for all the kids is in the works as well and I'd rather use 2 part, UV still takes ages! I'm excited for this, thank you!!

looks to be just a food dehydrator that you could pick up cheap anywhere and a bigger one to hold more

@@jdileorawr7988 Isn't this a curing oven? Some of the principles are similar to a food dehydrator, but better temperature control specific to curing resin. Not just set to temp for time but a temperature curve. You probably could do something similar with a dehydrator, but it would require more fiddly experimentation and more hands on time

I watched your video and was impressed with the machine. Then I decided to rummy own experiment with a food dehydrator and it works and gives you more room.
