@moondust23652 ай бұрын
@@DragN_H3art True. Oddly enough tho, looks _can_ give you a bit of a hint, but yeah, doing research to make sure _was_ the right thing to do. And hey, turns out, it was good he didn't win. The ruling party prior to the snap elections was holding Japan back socially imo. They're essentially the only reason why Japan is only now on its way to legalizing same-sex marriage (with just court rulings and local programs and all that). Plus, afaik, they might also be the party the sweeps Japan's WWII atrocities under the rug and limiting WWII education in Japan's history classes. Good riddance! XD Edit: Turns out, it's less of a "Good riddance!" and more of a "Hope you've learned your lesson". The PM doesn't wanna resign, and the ruling party is trying to form a majority coalition something, but they've at least admitted that the Japanese people aren't quite happy with them anymore. Also, from the side of the Japanese, their anger seems to be more on the side of corruption than social issues, tho perhaps younger voters are angry at them for both.

@@TheIce1262 Actually, it kinda is. LDP was reeling from a major slush fund scandal and this election they and their allied party Komeito have lost simple majority of seats in the snap elections while main opposition CDP have gained a good chunk of it. But right now it is at an impasse since other beneficiary from this election, DPFP have yet agreed to form a coalition with either camp to form a government.

@@CassiopeiaOnYT I'm aware of that too but i wouldn't call it controversy but just usual political scandal, granted it does lead to a historical moment in jp politic, but it's nothing compared to the us media apparatus that's twisted our perception of political discourses and intensify our fear/anxiety so they could capitalize on it in this post-truth era.
