Nice video man! I respect your overall point but cant say I agree. Modern analytics are proving more and more that velo is important. Look at a guy like Mason Miller who is a revolutionary relief talent with overpowering velo. Really the next decade of pitching will continue to push the envelope on velo and see how far we can take it. You're definitely correct when it comes to the development of a youth player, but that's an entirely different story. keep up the good work!

Thanks. I respect that opinion and can agree a bit too. My main problem is injury but I feel like that can also come with anything.

A solid video, concise and everything. But the one person who doesn’t sacrifice control for velocity, and in fact has both fairly in line with each other is Mason Miller

Yeah there are always exceptions and Mason Miller is one of the best. Thanks though! :D

Guys like Maddux got away with throwing slower because their ability to command the corners is exceptional. However most pitchers cannot do that at that level. Therefore it makes more sense of developing better “stuff” and just learning how to fill up the strike zone. It doesn’t matter if your pitches don’t dance on the edges anymore, if your spin rate and velocity are high enough hitters are going to have a hard time hitting it regardless.
@buffaloj117 ай бұрын
A lot of that is the problem. Guys like Maddux learned how to command the corners by sacrificing speed. Guys now just want the throw fast and won’t learn how to command their spots.
