Just seeing it and looking at all the features. I can already tell that nothing about this car looks right. The interior is NOT even that great quality. Looks cheap, feels cheap, features are awkward and funky with the layout. To sum it all up. Nothing makes any sense. I'm better off buying a near luxury quality with a much better layout that looks and feels right. Is this prius worth $40 grand plus? NOT REALLY!

Not sure why this is even uploaded, maybe looking for validation on emotional venting. Maybe read the car manual next time or try to go for a hike to vent out emotions then look at life again. As for issues, looks like the only two oversights is the sprayer and phone charger. Vent situation works well. Price comparison is wack, rav4p is 43k, PriusP is 32k and they are different segments.. For instrument cluster, as for any car, you adjust your position and steering wheel.. And volume knob is on the steering wheel like any normal car... and the other one is in good location for passenger to reach. A real facepalm moment for these two points.

I have had a Prius Prime XSE for 2 weeks now and I love it! It has an MSRP of $36k. 1. I am 5'7" and I love the cluster instrument panel. I lowered the steering wheel and raised the seat and I can see it perfectly 2. There is a volume control on the steering wheel, so the knob on the console is for the passenger 3. My son complains about the lack of air in the back, so I agree that rear needs vents 4. I drive 60 miles a day, and I have not needed to used the gas engine yet 5. I get 5 miles per kilowatt hour, which costs me $0.37, when I don't recharge it for free while I shop at Publix 6. I had owned two Priuses before, a Camry Hybrid and a Lexus 300h (hybrid). This car rides like the Lexus!

The Mazda 3 has far better features. 12 speaker premium audio, dual zone climate, a real full color heads up display in your line of sight, reverse-tilt-down side mirrors with auto dimming, and a typical Mazda driving experience with G-Vectoring Control Plus (brake based torque vectoring) for less. Not really comparable but you get more features for less. I don't agree that all cuvs are so much greater, what with being higher up and having a large unused space underneath, it kind of reduces load space for ground clearance that you likely won't use. Wagon designs would be great but most people like to drive around sitting above the dash rather than behind it. Some people still like to sit behind the dash.

Well I sat in the thing and could adjust the wheel to be comfortable and see the instrument cluster so that's a personal issue. None of these other complaints are relevant, it's a PHEV, the only other equivalent option in the Toyota lineup is the RAV4 Prime. And it's around $10k more which might make sense if you want the AWD/larger size, and you might be able to find a used one for about the same price as a new Prius Prime. Now if you shop the regular Prius, yeah people should also try the Corolla and Camry.

Ah, no, The "Charge Mode" button next to the shifter is not meant to charge the battery to a full capacity. It's meant only for recharging the battery enough to get you a short distance (i.e. through a condo parking garage and such). Driving a long distance in Charge Mode will result in an MPG of around 28mpg. Not the 100+mph you get in hybrid mode. Arsehole.

My 2 cents and I’m only commenting bc some of the comments are from obvious Toyota fanboys who can’t remove their bias for a minute. I had a Prius for a long time. A 2010 with a ton of miles on it. Everything worked but I can tell it was starting to go downhill so I looked at options at replacing. I initially wanted a 23 or 24 Prius but I couldn’t find them near me much less willing to pay a markup the dealer would charge bc they know they could bc some dummy would pay over msrp. I looked at the Camry hybrid and I wanted that body style but the LE doesn’t have some features I want at that high of a price and if I did get a Camry with the features I’d be paying a fortune and might as well look at a Corolla cross hybrid or something similar. This is what happens with Toyota. Over charge for features so you have to get a high priced model you want or get a more “premium” car that’s a lesser trim but costs the same as the initial higher trim car you wanted. Anyway, thought about the Corolla hybrid and I really liked it but it’s too small for me needs. I really needed it to be a midsize sedan at minimum. I wanted to stay with Toyota bc I’ve been a Toyota owner for years but I’m not paying over msrp on anything much less a depreciating asset and the only dealers around me weee charging too many fees and market adjustments. I looked outside my area but would have to travel 3-4 hours one way to get a deal done and didn’t have the time or patience after talking with these dealers. I started looking at other makes and models. I was really interested in the Chevy trax from a value proposition but the 3 cylinder killed me at the thought of how reliable it would be 4-5 years from now. I test drove a Buick envista and while I liked the way it drove, the seats were horrible and they didn’t have auto hold which is a must for me. I went to Hyundai and test drove the sonata hybrid (2024) and knew it was the one. I didn’t need a plug in hybrid but I wanted a hybrid. It’s extremely stylish, roomy, and the base model is perfectly equipped for me. Since they only have two models (base and limited) it wasn’t worth the 8k extra to get leather seats, power trunk, ventilated seats, heads up display, and better radio so I chose the base specifically because of the cloth seats. It has wireless charging, wireless CarPlay, heated seats, REAR vents (wtf Toyota) lifetime remote start via app, super comfortable seats, well thought out design… I’m sure I’m missing more things but it’s 6am and I haven’t had my caffeine. Long story short I went outside or my Toyota fanboy stage and bought a different brand bc it suits me the best. It took me a couple of months and countless hours to make my choice. I don’t just buy on a whim. The car was 32k, the limited 40k but even at 40k it blows the Prius out of the water with the additional features that the Prius doesn’t. Don’t get me wrong, Toyota quality and whatnot is great but they’re always dead last in comfort and features and if you don’t think so you’re blind. I put 4K miles on my sonata in about 6 weeks and I love driving it. Going close or far it’s super comfortable and with me being a stickler for maintenance I’m sure this will last a long time and for a lot of miles.

Yeah I'm old, but my family never had a car with AC when I was growing up. It was a luxury for rich people. So I have to laugh that you complain that the back seat of a small car doesn't have AC vents. 🤣🤣 You are right that the upper trim levels are over priced but the LE is a bargain. The only complaint you make that concerns me is the bad aim of the windshield wiper spray. The base model is better than the other cars you mentioned because of better mileage for $30K.

Don't gripe when you buy it without really looking at the overall features of the vehicle before buying it. Most people just buy it because it has one or 2 features that they like, but totally ignore all the rest of the other details. If if look funky and out of place. It's a tell tale sign of a poorly engineering and design of the vehicle that just didn't look or feel like it made any sense. I'm still driving my 2014 Prius, very much the base model or as I liked to put it "I'd like the cheapest Prius on your lot", I think at the time the MSRP was like $23k, and the interior feels superior to what I'm seeing in your video. I don't have rear seat ventilation either, but I think that's okay on small-ish size sedans and also how cheap it was. I still love it, it runs great, I'll probably keep it for another 10 years.
