Compare the eCVT to traditional belt CVTs. The simplicity is astounding. Pure genius.

I love Toyota Hybrids! Owned a 2013 Highlander Hybrid Limited and now a 2021 Highlander Hybrid Platinum AWD. I rented a 2022 Sienna Hybrid and was highly impressed. No wonder the year long wait times for the Sienna Hybrid and many other Toyota Hybrid models.

Only smart people now a Toyota Hybrid never breaks down, and needs only low maintenance. My Toyota Corolla is 22 years old and my hybrid Toyota Auris is 13 years old. Never had any issues with both of them. And a hybrid has no clutch, no startermotor, no belts or pully's, no steering pump, no cardan shaft, a maintenance free timing chain, no brake pad wear, a battery for decades, a fully electric climate control, and needs only a bit of fuel.

My Rav4 hybrid changes between gas and electric without my ability to sense it. If it were not for the screen displaying when the engine running and when it is off, I would not be able to tell.

Exactly, that's why I bought a Lexus ES300h in mid-April. It's the Ultra Luxury trim, which is what we wanted and is the highest trim for the ES hybrid. It is the Cloudburst Gray exterior with Acorn color semi-aniline leather interior. Total Installed Packages & Accessories: 1) Premium Triple-beam LED headlamps; 2) Smartacess Card Key; 3) Premium Paint; 4) Lexus Interface with 12.3-in Multimedia Touchscreen Display; 5) Ultra Luxury Package; 6) All weather floor liners and trunk mat; 7) Door edge film by 3M; 8) The Preferred Accessory Package; and 9) The Dealer added a 5-year windshield protection/replacement coverage package and tinted the driver and passenger windows. More: The three-projector design that creates an eye-catching L shape. Adding to this brilliant design, the headlamps feature LED side turn signals, as well as an Adaptive Front Lighting System6 that uses steering and speed sensors to direct the angle of low-beam illumination as the vehicle enters a curve. The Adaptive Front Lighting System monitors steering and speed with a suite of sensors and will automatically adjust the angle of your low-beam headlights to improve visibility on curved roads. Ultra Luxury extras: 1) 18-inch split-five-spoke alloy noise-reduction wheels 2) Power rear sunshade with manual rear-door sunshades 3) Power open/close trunk with kick sensor 4) 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen display 10.2-inch Head-Up Display 5) Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking and Rear Pedestrian Detection, and Panoramic View Monitor. Averaging 43+ MPG City/Hwy driving and I had the oil and filter changed at 1,000 miles for my own peace of mind. Just For Reference: I was not going to wait one-year or 10,000 miles to have the factory installed oil & filter changed. And, I shall be changing the Oil (Liqui Moly 0W-16 Spec V) and Toyota filter every 5,000 miles from now on. Like Scotty Kilmer says, oil & filters are cheap, engines are expensive. LOL

My 2012 Camry Hybrid failed to start for the first time last year. My problem was that the OEM 12-volt battery failed after ten years of use. The Toyota dealer replaced it for nothing more than my good looks, and $320.00.

Yes, it was the best Hydrid system. But, unfortunately, it isn't now. Toyota is taken over by BYD in Hybrid system. And Toyota has to buy BYD's for their new Hydrid car.

Way too complicated for me I’ll just stick to a proven electric vehicle. Down the road I see lots of maintenance work for the dealership pass I don’t want it.

Toyota may be the leader in Hybrid technology but Hybrid vehicles remain very inefficient compared to BEV vehicles. At best a Hybrid reduces fuel consumption by 1 litre per 100km. And if traveling longer distances there is no improvement in fuel consumption. So why pay for all the complexities of a Hybrid for so little gain. It's also about Toyota's marketing making the buyer think it's a good technology.

I have the Toyota Prius Prime Plug In. With about 66 km of electric only range, I can pretty much drive electric only during the week. On the longer road trips I have no need to look for electric charging or factor in charger wait times. I enjoy high gas mileage at all times that the hybrid system is engaged, all-wheel drive and the thing accelerates using its hybrid drive like a scalded cat. It has all the advantages of electric, all the advantages of ICE and none of the disadvantages of BEV. Any disadvantages relating to ICE technology are not material to me. Ask me in a decade and I'll likely go all-BEV. But not today with the current state of batteries and charging infrastructure.

My lexus is300h is reliably getting over 50mpg (UK mpg), and that's from a 2.5 litre engine . My partner's 1.8 litre Honda struggles to get 35mpg. So, I think you're very wrong on that point.
