Toyota hybrid system is really an amazing feat of engineering. With our current battery technology, it's a better solution to a lot of transportation problems than pure EVs like Tesla.

Akio Toyoda is right. Hybrid is the best solution for EV transition. until we have a EV that goes 1000 miles pre charge or 500 miles with 10 mins charge time. try to use a Tesla Model X that rated 360 miles to tow a small camper. you are lucky if you can get close to half the range. I am wondering how far can the electric F-150 rated 230 miles can go when they are fully loaded.

I agree. I'm trying to get the Jamaican government to institute policies in the direction of hybrids, but the bureaucracy is like molasses flowing in winter.

​@@sillybeans929 partially agree. these EV are good for most people's daily use when they have two cars. but it is not particle for some people. try to tow a small camper with the Tesla model X (333 mi. range (EPA est.) )with AC on, you are lucky if you can get half or the range, it will be worse in winter time driving in snow with heat on. or an electric truck loaded with 2000 lb and driven to the work site. I can see that happening when they can make a EV with a 1000 mile rated range for heavy duty use.

AMD, The enthusiasm is justified. For years I have been telling friends shopping for their next car to buy a Toyota Hybrid. The ones that have listened are very happy indeed and they have saved a fortune in gas.

@@coloradoboo1071 Also Toyota Safety Sense is pretty amazing. It has a really good adaptive radar cruise control, so when you drive on a freeway, it's basically self driving, all you have to do is sit back and monitor around you. The car takes car of speed, distance between itself and car ahead, and lane keeping. The BZ will be the first to have Safety Sense 3.0

@@cinemapigeon4898 not gonna lie, LKA in new Toyotas still kinda sucks... Been driving a 2022 Camry and it's junk compared to my mom's 2021 Mazda CX-30's LKA. My "new" 2013 Prius Advanced has LKA and it's not much more useless than this 2022 Camry. Hoping Toyota works on that.

@@Nathan_Jay I guess it depends what you come from, but I came from a 1994 Honda Accord to 2019 Rav4, so yeah, I was amazed. I imagine if someone had a Tesla everything else would be underwhelming in terms of driving assists.

My aunt and uncle bought a first gen Prius. They are not high mileage drivers, but they still drive it! They did replace the hi-voltage battery last year but have had no other issues just maintenance. Amazing engineering.

I’ve had two Prius and two Tesla and now RAV4 Prime and ordered a new Lexus hybrid. Nothing beats Toyota hybrids.

@fortune eight watch his videos. Teslas are a pile of junk especially in regards to quality and reliability. Parts availability and repairs also is a big problem with these cars, even more than German brands.

@@Trades46 German? VW is excellent in terms of parts. Not cheap, but readily available. Ford OTOH (I’ve never owned but tried to help a friend) do not even bother selling parts on an older model, you have to go to junk yard. I could not believe that, but it’s true.

Toyota played the long game indeed, they spent 20+ years perfecting this tech and now basically every vehicle in the lineup has a hybrid option as gas prices are going through the roof. Toyota's reliance on hybrid tech was based on two very logical assumptions - gas prices would go through the roof in the future, and EVs will not make any headway until infrastructure improves, the supply of battery components increases, and charging times decrease. Now that both scenarios are playing out as expected, it is no surprise that Toyota hybrids have taken off in recent years.

I have a 2021 Prius C in Mexico and I have averaged 52mpg. But last weekend my son went over to collect something from a friend's house and averaged 123mpg over a round trip of 26 miles! We have no idea how he did it. He knows how to feather the accelerator pedal which makes a big difference and he's always checking the real time consumption but no one has ever gone over 60mpg before. These Toyota hybrids are Legend!!

Conditions make a big difference with the Hybrids. When I had my Prius C, I loved it (and still miss it). I had a good tail wind one time going 79 miles an hour down the Interstate on a 4 hour trip. I got 56mpg. The best I ever got on a 4-5 mile trip was 114mpg. Average was around 52-54. Loved that little car, but my Camry Hybrid is just as good and a little more roomy and really a nicer car to drive.

@@dckmusic I feel like sedans are just impractical. All you have is trunk. You can't sleep in a car laying down, cargo space is tiny. Even with hatchbacks like Prius you get whopping 24 cu ft to 50 cu ft with seats down vs Camry's 15 cu ft trunk and in Prius you can haul a TV or a moving dolly, ladder, sports equipment, etc. And if you go up to a rav4 your cargo space is now 70 cu ft. My choice would be between these two and Sienna. And if I want the cheapest possible car technically I'd get corolla, but Prius is just.. better. I wouldn't understand sacrificing so much for just a What is it about sedans that people love them so much?

@@artemaung5274 It all depends on your use case, but I'll start by saying that sedan vs. SUV for cargo space is a bit overstated for the SUV side. Example: We moved my mom from my home to my sister's home 300 miles away. I loaded up her stuff in my Avalon and drove half way and met my brother-in-law with their Highlander. After transferring everything over to the Highlander, there was no space left. My Avalon could hold as much stuff as the Highlander. Sure, if you have large objects to move, the Highlander can squeeze them in where my Avalon can't, but with the Camry, the backseats fold down and can fit a few larger things my Avalon couldn't. If your use case is often hauling stuff or sleeping in your car (something I have never done and would never do), then a sedan isn't right for you. If your main use case is puttering around town, going back and forth to work, you don't need the larger vehicle that includes higher fuel cost, generally higher price tag and higher insurance rates. A Corolla or Camry Hybrid can be the perfect vehicle for you. I would prefer a Sienna to any SUV, honestly, if I wanted something to haul people or things regularly. To me, the Sienna is the best mutli-use vehicle Toyota has and it would be my first choice if I needed something like that, not a Rav4 or a Highlander.

@@dckmusic SUV usually offer cheaper insurance, although it heavily depends on the vehicle, but RX offers cheapest insurance cost in Lexus lineup and Sienna is cheapest insurance cost in Toyota lineup, followed by highlander, followed by Tacoma, followed by rav4. Camry is second last cheaper than only 86, although there's not all that much difference to be fair. Really only 86 stands out as expensive to insure. But there's less risk of damage of internal components because SUV sits higher, bigger tires, you don't have to worry about curb damage, road debris is far less dangerous, etc. Driving around town I believe Prius is the best because of higher fuel efficiency and lower cost combined with much higher cargo capacity. Regarding Highlander fits less than Avalon, that's just nuts. Prius can fit more stuff than Avalon. Highlander has 84 cu ft of space, that's about half as much as a fully loaded pickup truck, there's no way in hell any sedan can possibly compare. You likely just used passenger space cleverly in Avalon and he didn't do nearly as good of a job. Avalon is quite large though I wonder how much volume is it's passenger back seat area. But Sienna can fit more than pickup truck, more than any Tacoma for example. It's counter-intuitive, but that's just the reality of it. When it comes to practicality of cargo space minivan with 35mpg is leaving everyone else in the dust.

​@@dckmusic In the U.K. about 50% of the Corollas are wagons and the other half hatchbacks. The only sedan which is really popular here is the Tesla model 3. That is probably because the Y has been on sale less than a year (and looks a bit like the Michelin man). SUVs like the RAV4 are quite popular, even though they are huge compared to the original RAV4 which was Corolla sized.

I’m on my third Toyota hybrid. 2 CHR’s and now a RAV4 2021. I would simply never look at any other hybrid. Why would I pay for other manufacturers to play catch up with what I already know to be the best. Every time I take a trip in my Rav I find myself saying Wow, what a machine this is! You’d have to kill me to get it from me. There is a reason they are as rare as hens teeth on the second hand market here in France, once you have one, you keep it! Fantastic video, as always AMD. Is there anything you don’t know about Toyota?

Due to the fact that I have watched a number of your videos, I just purchased a 23 Corolla Hybrid. If not for the dash readout, most of the time engine on and off would not be noticeable at all. Toyota Must hire AMD to explain all about the Toyota hibrid systems . Whoever this guy is, he explains it the very best I’ve ever seen, or heard. This obvious well-experienced mechanic, has nailed how to sell each model year of the Toyota hibrid systems. I just learned more about why Toyota is so good, than ever before. If I was in the market for a new car, I would go to this guy. But at 77 years old, my car buying days are done. I have driven my 2008 Mercedes S550, 4-MATIC for many years, plus I found a service Center in Scottsdale, MBZ, where every mechanic was a Team Leader at the giant MB dealership also in Scottsdale. I have a 21’ Prius Prime and it is such a great driving car. I was so surprised when I first got it. I really thought I was going to be sacrificing everything for fuel economy and its really not the case. It has been so far one of the top cars I have owned so far!

I also have Prius prime just got back from 7,000 km trib to California Arizona and back to Alberta Canada average 68 mpg for trip. I love it esp when we are paying $7/gallon here

My used 2012 Prius C is the best car I have ever had. I look at KZbin reviews and they are 99% negative, complaining about lack of speed, or "does not inspire a passion for driving." Things like that.

Fellow Tech here(35 yrs) for Chrysler In Canada. We wanted to save some fuel cost back in June, as we both drive alot, and started looking at smaller cars,(we owned all Volvos)but fuel saved didn't make it worth the cost to switch....so looked at, bolt and volt, etc. But big issue was we wanted AWD as in the snow belt. So looked at small suv hybrids. But again, higher cost, and fuel saved didn't make the math work. Then I found out that the Prius was avail. with AWD. So decided to drive one, but thought no way will I like how this drives. Surprisingly it drives great! Wife drove it, and she also loved it. So we bought a new 21 AWDe tech. package in june. So far we have 20k on it and love it. Fuel saved , is almost paying for the car. Hopefully 3 or 4 years down the road they will have a plugin hybrid AWD. I'm a gas burning gearhead, and if you had told me 9 months ago I would be driving a Prius, AND liking it, I would have thought you were nuts. Keep up the great vids, I have now watched a ton of them.

AMD, I know that you love the 4Runner like it is, but I would "volunteer" to be the first in getting Hybrid 4 Runner. I am saving up to get one when it comes out! Toyota should promote you to be its "Ambassador" for its brand!

I love my Prius. I recently got the 2022 model. Dependable, reliable, ugly as all sin, but very fuel efficient. I get about 65MPG babying it. It's insane how efficient it is.

My Corolla hybrid gets the same mpg ,as long as I don’t try to go 75-80 on the highway . These hybrid systems are awesome.

The first gen Prius was a real laughingstock even in 2002 when we bought ours. Gas was about $1.10 per gallon, and it was only around $1.50 at the beginning of 2004. But when the price rose above $2.00 by May the lowly Prius was sold out quickly, and people were paying above MSRP for used Prius! That put Prius on the charts as a serious contender.

@the car care nut. You're correct about the inverters.. At tmmk we pick them up by hand to put them on the transaxle... They are super light..

I put 230,000 mi on my 2012 prius and never had a single problem with it. I now have a 2022 prius AWD XLE because the other was so reliable and efficient. I cannot overstate how much I love these cars. best car I've ever owned!

I had my first Toyota Prius 2007 in the Midwest. People were looking at me like what kind of ugly car is that and they thought it’s a “green thing to do”. I’m just happy to have 50mpg. and we did a lot of traveling racking up miles and saving gas. And 2024- we still have the car at 350k miles and still have the original HV battery. People are now buying priuses for its durability and economy. 😊

I bought a 2022 corolla cross hybrid this year (2021) "don't get the dating", my gas consumption was cut in half and still improving. I'm at 23.14 km/l (59.1m/g). I would appreciate a once over from you on this model and how to care for it. Your channel is a God-send btw. Thanks for taking the time to educate us; much appreciated.

I like my Auris Hybrid, it has no cam or drive belts to replace or maintain. It's easy to service and is very reliable. Over 60 mpg on average, it's the best car I've ever owned.

my 2022 prime is getting 2.5 L per 100 km. Now is getting colder in Canada and I see the increase to 3 plus L. per 100 kilometres. This is insane because my best mileage in the last 20 years was 1989 Honda Civic and 2007 Yaris both standard transmissions. These two miracles of Japanese production were getting 6+ L/100 km. in the winter and just below 6L/100 km in the summer. The night price per one Kilowatt in Ontario is very cheap and I always charge at night.

Also Subaru Nissan and Ford use Toyotas licensed hybrid tech. They basically strap their engines to the Toyota hybrid system. Ford was the first to do this long ago

I have 2012 priusV. But far it is a best vehicle. No issues whatsoever. Still have original brake pads. Even with 1.8 engine it does pretty good in the mountains fully loaded. The car was everywhere between San Diego and Whistler, BC, Moab, Bryce Canyon. Comfortable for long hauls. Can hold 80+ on the road and still have enough to accelerate. Was hoping to see a bigger motor, but found out they stop make these. Will be looking into RAV4 hybrid, but I really like the wagon setup with reclining and sliding rear seats.

GREAT VIDEO. The only thing that sucks is, even if I am (and my familyI) are Toyota fanboys, I purchased my 2017 Honda Accord hybrid in 2016, 4 months before the NEW generation Toyota Camry came out. Toyota is very good in keeping secrets unlike other auto makers who announces their future cars without any data. That's why I end up with Honda. At the time of my purchase, The Accord Hybrid is the only "NORMAL LOOKING" sedan that gives 48mpg and with decent reviews. From 2013 to this date, the Accord still has the same gas engine coupled with the same hybrid system. I now have 30K miles with it, has zero trouble (yet), and has zero trunk space, LoL. Thanks again for your time posting this video.

I bought a Toyota RAV4 XSE hybrid 2021 and love it . I’m thinking of trading in for the XSE plug-in hybrid. With my current rav4 XSE hybrid, I get 45 &+ MPG = between 600 to 620 miles to empty my tank . And I’m sure the plug-in hybrid one would be madness!! That’s why I’m thinking of trading this one for the plug-in hybrid. Toyota. You’re the best !! 😌😌😌😌😌😌

Love our RAV4 2021 XSE hybrid. Smooth, quiet, lots of bells and whistles and great gas mileage. No problems with the gas tank or the high voltage connector (so far).

The Car Care Nut, thanks for your info on the KZbin which are very helpful to us. Recently I traded in my 2010 Corolla for an 2022 Prius Prime and understand that it is no good to keep the HV battery 100% charge for an extended period of time. That is why I try to keep the charge between 30 to 75% most of the time by using a timer instead of programming. If the car shows that it takes 4 hours for full charge, the timer will be set for a period of 2.5 hours ( about 1.5 hour less than the full charging hours). Also try to use Hybrid mode for a certain period of time to keep the health of the gas engine.

I got a 2005 Prius Gen 2 last year. Now I've changed out the NiMH-battery for a Li-Ion, 2x60cell. That and stronger springs in the rear makes her go at between 80-120 mpg, depending on wether it is winter or summer. Quite happy with it. Usually charge her at home and drive to work only using electric drive. When I don't use the bike. : ) Toyota made a good car. Thankfully, a little too good at ~255000kms...

AMEN!!! I was just coming home & TWO Teslas passed me. Not seeing too many newer gen4's like mine. I bet w/prices, more will sell. VERY informative video, as usual. I SEE how Europe drives smaller cars, how their gasoline prices are always higher than ours, MADE me choose my prius. I pumped gas when the US had the shortage. Even wrkd when it was 27cents a gallon! I would have purchased a hybrid Camry or RAV4. I WANTED better MPG. Yes, I sacrificed room but it's an individual choice. ANY Toyota hybrid rocks!!! Sorry Musk.😁

I'll get the last laugh when they are broken down on the side of the road because of reliability issues or from "brownouts" because the electrical grid can't handle all the pressure from too many EV's on the road (especially during the daytime on hot summer days when electrical power is under extreme pressure). Hybrids are the WAY TO GO for the foreseeable future. My 62 Imperial mpg (51 US gallon) proves my point.

I bought a 2014 Prius C to conserve miles on my F350 power stroke. It's actually a pleasure to drive. Especially 50 mpg when it takes 100 miles round trip to nearest shopping center.

31 mpg in my 2019 Rav4 hybrid on highway doing 80 mph on extended trips on mostly flat terrain. Fuel economy also drops a lot on highway in Rav4 hybrid! 17 mpg on highway going 75 mph towing my 1000lb camper so towing anything hybrids fuel economy really go out the window! In town though good fuel economy around 36 mpg.

Had my 2013 Hybrid now for 2 fantastic years and although not the most exciting beast I'v had is the cheapest and most reliable by far. Easy to maintain and drive. LOVE IT. Will probably finish using it in a few years and buy a 2016 model with bigger engine perhaps. But maybe not....

Great video. Thanks for sharing. 👍Yeah... It's fun having a older third generation Toyota and leaving the lights burning on the parking during the day. Then your in for a big suprise. Opening the door with a mechanical key you never new you had, looking under the hood for your 12 volt battery that's missing, and a trunk you can only open electric. And then, after watching many KZbin video's sitting in your car, learning about that extra + (plus) connector in your fuse box. I really did feel stupid that day, but I did manage to drive home ! 😁

Keep that hybrid battery vent nice and clean, do your oil changes every 5000 miles and change transaxle/ diff and CVT fluid every 60,000 miles to give yourself best chance! Good luck!

My 2001 Estima hybrid was a brave step for Toyota... The strangest thing about it is probably the fact that it has a metal belt type CVT rather than an eCVT and the front electric motor connects to the drivetrain via the serpentine belt... And then there is another electric motor for the rear wheels to make it the first four wheel drive (slightly) hybrid I think… It is a less refined system than what Toyota makes now but even so overall it feels a lot smoother and years more modern than even some newer non-hybrid Toyotas

@The Care Care Nut - I have a 2005 Kluger/Highlander Hybrid in Japan. It has a 4cyl engine and 12v battery under the hood. I guess JDM for hybrids had a slightly different track? Have read forums with plenty of trouble on the hybrid system and dealer warns me that it could go at any time. So far 140,00km/87,000mi and very happy with it.

Great vid, how I wish one could get the 3rd generation shape Prius with 4th generation hybrid system. The 3rd generation is still legendary than the newer one. I owned the 2010 one & was written off in an accident. Whilst most of my friends were hellbent on torquey diesel, I believed in hybrids (and believe I was a minority) but in the end hybrids proofed futuristic and have no doubt plug-in will prove pragmatic BEV. The battery magic (high density lowest weight)the BEV's are waiting for will work more for plug-in hybrids more so as the ICE heat efficiency is also sinificantly improving. Hybrids will forever remain part of the power mix to efficient mobility.

My new Rav4 XSE hybrid is my second hybrid, first one was a 2018 Honda Insight which was also a great hybrid car. I swear by hybrids now and will NEVER go back to just an ICE only vehicle. I really wanted to get a Rav4 Prime but I wasn't willing to wait an untold amount of time to get one. I have absolutely no regrets buying just the hybrid version.

I grew up listening to korn and limp bizkit songs and hearing the amazing tech that toyota implemented in HV day dreaming with having one... now at my 38 years old, I finally got my hands on a Corolla Cross Hybrid... what makes me very nostalgic is to think that this exactly the same configuration that they used when I was a teenager... is like looking back to that young poor Me and telling him... WE DID IT BOY!

I did compare Corolla Hybrid 2019 and CHR Hybrid 2017. They have same engine 2zr-fxe with P610 but it is huge difference in driving filling. Corolla have Li-ion batteries and gain speed faster without need to press pedal to power area. Eco driving mode in Corolla is much better tuned. Thank you AMD!!!

The Camry, RAV4, Venza, Sienna and Highlander use the P710, a more powerful version of the 610 for heavier car models.The Camry hybrid just switched to lithium ion batteries in all trims for 2021.

i drove 2010 Toyota Camry Hybrid ( that time Hybrid use to come from Japan) very comfortable , and i was able to drive whole week only on $20 dollars because Gas( Patrol ) price was $1.89 , and after that , other companies interduce hybrids but those were not even close to Toyota .

20:05 Reviewing this video. I found that my Corolla Cross Hybrid doesn't have those active shutters. That is something that I really could appreciate now entering winter in the south, the engine coolant never reaches 60ºC it keeps below 50ºC in my daily conmute to my job, and thus the gas mileage is horrible compared to the summer gas mileage. That is something that I see that even the RAV4 does have here.

I just traded a Tundra for a 2017 Prius Two, my very first Prius. I'm impressed, it's fun to drive (smooth, efficient), it's not pokey at all, it's shifted my paradigms! I've learned soooo much from the Car Care Nut. I grew up with a brother who was a lifelong mechanic so I assumed cars were cars were cars. Wrong! Being in southern Arizona I am concerned about keeping the drive batteries cool so I've learned to NOT put anything on the right rear floorboard because that's the air intake for the drive batteries. I'll periodically change the filter at that intake because this dry climate is dusty. In the heat I'll keep the AC flow on the right side focused downward so cool air goes in the direction of this air intake. I'll also direct the system to send air to the backseats overall. CAR CARE NUT, do you concur? (Stray thought: a small fan to sit on the floorbard by the intake to boost cooling even further?) In previous vehicles I've always had a direct 12V line from the battery to under the seat where I have the UHF/VHF ham radio unit. I'm concerned about overall power draw on the Prius' 12 volt starter battery. Typically I don't use the radio frequently to transmit (I'm not a yakker). Since that 12V "starter" battery isn't that "beefy", designed for starting as opposed to constant draw, I'm wondering if the Prius' system can adequately charge it. I'm also wondering how the Prius' electronics would react to sudden, infrequent power draws of 12 to 14 amps (very, very rarely, optimum would be more like 7 to 10 amps while transmiting, 0.5 amps receiving) CCN, any thoughts on this? I tempted to get a Bioenno lithium battery, put it on the floor behind the driver's seat, feed the radio and a charger block (USB/Cig plug to charge small electronic stuff) and leave the Prius' legacy power system alone. I'm leaning more that way. 8-) Lastly, there's the concern for RF (radio frequency) on the Prius itself, and in my case, from a magnetic mount antenna on the roof. Max would be 50 watts (UHF/VHF) to more like 5 to 25 watts during transmit. We're constantly being exposed to RF from any sources in the environment so this might not be a real concern, but the thought has crossed my mind. CCN, any thoughts? (BTW, installed outlets are being used for the GPS and a memory stick loaded with a bazillion music MP3s.) You're videos have been, can't think of a supurlative word, to decribe how you have taught me so much about the Prius' hybrid system. My paradigms have been radically shifted. I'm enjoying the vehicle immensely. What can I say but a sincere thanks! Hal

The "original" generation (1997-2001) available only in Japan was different from the "classic" generation (2001-2003) available worldwide was due to several updates... the gas-engine had more power... the outside appearance changed... and the screen was upgraded to be touch-sensitive. But the biggest change was completely missed in this explain... the battery-pack. Cells within were changed from "D" format to prismatic. Toyota was leading the way to such a degree, the importance of that switch wasn't recognized and is still overlooked to this day. People just dismissed the technology as just a slow & boring solution for tree-huggers. Keep in mind, the design priority was a reduction of smog-related emissions, not carbon.

i made my gen2 prius run 62mpg (75 uk mpg) tested on 1000 miles normal driving in UK all factory components including hybrid battery engine temperature spoofing + new engine software + heated hybrid battery = 62 mpg and it can do more but still working on it the fact that a 15 year old car can do a lot more then it came out the factory door is surprising and makes me wonder why they haven't done it in the first place because I've done it with ease love this car and i don't need anything else especialy now with high mpg the mods and upgrades can be seen on toyota prius owners club facebook page

The 2018 Insight I had before trading it in for a Rav4 hybrid, I used to often got 75 can mpg which was mindblowing. Now with my new Rav4 XSE hybrid during the summer months I average 62 can mpg (51 us) which is incredible mileage for a good sized suv..... this is with a mixture of hwy/city driving in eco mode. Just shows you that hybrids are the way to go.

He's explained that in a previous video. It's a very complicated system but totally brilliant like Toyota is so famous for. I'm no expert so I can't explain it, you'll just have to look for it in his history of videos in which he has a whole bunch of them regarding Toyota hybrids.

6:05 this is a misconception about the first generation Prius. The engine does not run continuously when the AC is on, there is a cold-storage evaporator in the air conditioning system that provides enough cold air to sit at a stoplight without the engine turning on. If the cabin needs to be cooled, the engine will run for a few seconds and then shut off again.

1:33 the honda insight was pretty innovative, a hybrid car with a five speed manual transmission. It was unheard of at the time, even now, but it was only a two seater, which was where Toyota shined with the Prius. A hybrid that got great gas mileage while offering seating for up to five. Honda corrected this flaw by introducing the Accord Hybrid and Civic Hybrid, but it was too little too late. Toyota had made the Prius even bigger and introduced the Highlander Hybrid in 2006 as a response to the Ford Escape hybrid introduced the previous year.

I bought a 2021 TOYOTA Camry. SE 5 month ago. I have 4200 miles on her. But I wanted to get her in early because it was her first oil change. I had my own automobile shop in the 90's early 2000 In California. So I dropped it off, drove away in my prius. An hour later they called said it was done come get it. I got the invoice ( he started explaining) we filled the fluids, took the tires off & rotate $86.76-- and took air hose and shop towel to dust the brake drum-- $66.58. Thats when I blew my stack!!!! Y would u dust my brakes??? I asked y did my fluids need filled w 4200 miles on it?? And told him if it needed fluids they can have the car back. And they refused to change the oil untill 10.000 miles. And at that time it was going to cost me $124.00. So as my blood was boiling inside I let this dumb (a) rattle on and put this in writing what how he was going to screw me when I came back. 😤 😁😄😃 mean while. then I smiled and said u are such a dumb f what rock did u grow up under. U know my car has 4200 miles. My car qualify for its first 5 service oil changes free. SO NEEDLES TO SAY I LIVE IN A VERY SMALL TOWN. THE NEAREST TOWN IS 45 MINUTS AWAY. IM HAVING THIS DUMB AS PAY TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO GET MY CAR SERVICED IN THE NEXT TOWN. IM FOR SURE NOT HAVING THAT DEALER TOUCH MY CAR. ( IF THEY THINK 10.000 MILES IS OIL CHANGE TIME)

I have a 2021 Yaris hybrid. My fiance loves it and wants to buy a Toyota hybrid himself next year. My parents both got relatively new gasoline-only cars and are currently doubting if they should've rather bought a hybrid since gas prices went up so much. My little brother wants to buy a hybrid as his next car if he can afford it.
