@@SentenceToDESU lifeweaver doesn't use magic he uses a "biotech" version of hardlight, he went to the same vishkar school as sym and learned how to be a hardlight architect but dropped out and added his own biotech to it, and vishkar is hunting him for the technology

Great video, I really do agree with your points on how overwatch pushes TF2 game design even further. I think that thing about life weaver not feeling like an overwatch hero should be a topic you should cover after letting some time pass. While I do agree that his design feels inconsistent with the overwatch style, he's not even out yet at the time of this video upload and this comment. Giving life weaver some time to breath and settle into players hands will be the true test whether or not he fits into the ecosystem. There's that similar thing with Minecraft where every new feature "looks like a mod" but after the update drops and players get used to it, it feels normal. But overall, sick video. Subscribed🤞🏼

The reason that rammatra, junkerqueen and sojourn fit with overwatch are because they’ve been with the game for a while. They’re pre established characters in the lore. That’s what overwatch needs now. Lots of people want overdrive (one of dvas fellow mech pilots) and I want maxamillion. There are characters who have appeared in cinematics and comics who have yet to appear in game.

I really liked the intro in this video. It was top notch. It's too early for me to judge Lifeweaver. I have to see how he moves and looks and talks first. Are you going for a no bonfire or no death run in DS2? I still play it sometimes. Last time I was in Dragon's Aerie I kept getting invaded by the same guy, so I bought a bunch of acid pots and broke his stuff. Of course then he invaded me back and did the same thing to me.

As an active player of both games, I have to say that adapting the classes and subclasses of TF2 in OW had very mixed results. On the one hand, you have to trace that a good adaptation, and that Cassidy is a spy with a better made ambassador (more for him). In fact, you actually feel a good feedback from the weapon), but then there is mercy that using it is the equivalent of seeing one piece, that is, domir, while medic is much more fun, or shadow that is a worse spy, since what is interesting of this it has no shadow; or the worst of all, pharah and junkrat, being that the latter is saved, because both as a character and as playable, although he is a demoman for fools xd, and pharah being rubbish compared to the soldier, the nl rockets feel powerful, the "rocket jump "It's a laugh, and as a character it's worse.

Personally i think Phara has the best movement. Pharas movement is the only one that operates on 3 scales; forward, backward, left, right, up and down. No other hero relies on positioning and map knowledge to the point phara does. You are punished way more since in the air you have no shields and half of the roster can punish you easily. But she is the only hero who is able to move as free, the only thing separating you and where you want phara to be is your creativity. Atp It feels off to play phara without hitscans aiming for your head every moment your in the air; Phara is not for the faint of heart. You will get shot down mid últ, get two tapped by a cassidy, gunned down in a split second by bastion, pressured by dva. But you will have a freedom that no other hero can come close to offering

I think Lifeweavers name is a big factor to him feeling so out of place. Its not a name, its an alias. Whereas all other characters have some type of actual name or a nickname that feels like an actual name (Tracer is Lena Oxton and Symmetra is Katya Waswani, nicknames given because their normal names sound way too ordinary) you have Lifeweaver with this extremely serious nickname that is way too literal to his role. Sure you have someone like Reaper and Soldier:76 but for them, they are meant to be edgy so nicknames like that work for them, and they also roll off the tounge way better. I still have no idea how the hell youre supposed to call out this guy. Life? Weaver? It all feels synthetic in a way, almost robotic.

i disagree with a lot of what you were saying about tf2 and it's gameplay - i had 1500 hours, and another 200 odd in overwatch, and i think they're very similar. right now, i play ow because i prefer the matchmaking, and enjoy the character complexity - but i don't think one game is better than the other. blizzard is just a much, much better developer than valve

Lifeweaver uses tech, he used to work with sym at Vishkar. He uses a type of hard light that is made out of some bio organic material, (prob to explain why it can heal) but his whole personality is about breaking free from constraints (Vishkar) and embracing nature.
