I mess with TB but he’s half right and half wrong here if you make 100 K a year stay at your job if you make 80 or 75K a year go to the dealership and buy a truck, I don’t know about having your own authority, but leasing to a well established all O/O company is better than being a company driver for a 75K it’s a reason why he’s doing it… all love TB

I always say leave the owning to swift. Companies like that can handle the rate ups and downs, the repairs, the tows, the fuel fluctuations, the accidents, etc. Everyone thinks they can until their weighing whether or not they can afford a truck wash due to low funds.

Most owner ops are pretty much company drivers with more responsibility. Unless you have a contract directly with the customers you pretty much make the same or lil bit more than a company driver

Trucking is a business and most drivers just aren’t good business men. They don’t understand business structures, can’t read market environment, don’t understand financial etc... Owning a trucking company to them seems worrisome and overburdening. The business isn’t something they build the business becomes their job.

This is a fact.. most people won’t consider getting a CPA paying themselves a reasonable salary from their business and investing the rest with all the incentives that come with a business structure. I’ve heard multiple times from people on KZbin that now have failed, like Lone wolf trucker for example, that said they won’t pay themselves as much as a company driver.. which will definitely lead you to failure.
