Denmark and Greenland have been together since 1380, when Norway entered a union with Denmark under the Danish crown, which meant that Greenland became part of the Danish-Norwegian union. After close to 500 Years the union split up in 1814, after the Napoleonic war, when Denmark was forced to entrust Norway to Sweden, whilst Greenland, Faroe Islands and Iceland stayed with Denmark. Today Greenland is an integrated and autonomic part of the Kingdom of Denmark, and it's NOT for sale. The only country You can buy today is The United States of America In US money rules everything - just ask Elon Musk - he knows the price he had to pay. (Denmark also can’t sell Sweden, Germany, France and, for that matter, any other Country to the US)

You do realize territories change hands in the past? It’s just not as common now but doesn’t mean it is not possible. Also, there was a time that Denmark seized to exist when it was invaded by Germany in 1941 and the USA actually took over Greenland then. So, at some point, the USA actual took over Greenland.

Se real facts below: Denmark declared itself neutral when the war broke out, but after the German invasion in 1940, the country was occupied and the Danish government entered into a cooperation agreement with the Germans. Denmark tried to maintain a neutral and independent relationship, but this became very difficult considering the German occupation. In August 1941, after negotiations with the Danish government in exile, the United States entered into an agreement with Denmark that allowed the United States to establish military bases in Greenland. This was made official in the so-called "Greenland Agreement" or "Agreement on Military Cooperation", which was signed by the Danish ambassador to the United States, Henrik Kauffmann, acting on behalf of the Danish government in exile. The Danish ambassador to the United States, Henrik Kauffmann, entered into the agreement with the United States, even though he had not received explicit instructions from the Danish government in London. Kauffmann was convinced, however, that the U.S. presence in Greenland was the best way to protect the island from a German invasion. Denmark, which was under German control, could not protect Greenland itself, and therefore the agreement was recognized as a necessary step to secure Greenland's strategic position. U.S. Obligations: In exchange for access to Greenland, the U.S. undertook to protect the island's sovereignty and leave Greenland when the war was over. U.S. military bases were also established, including airports and radar stations, which were crucial to the Allied war effort in the Atlantic and against Nazi Germany.

There were earlier proposals to buy Greenland by the US: Internal discussions within the United States Government about acquiring Greenland notably occurred in 1867, 1910, 1946, and 2019, and acquisition has been advocated by former American Secretaries of State William H. Seward and James F. Byrnes, privately by former Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, and publicly by President Donald Trump, among others. After World War II, the United States secretly offered to buy Greenland; public discussion of buying the island occurred after Trump's 2024 reelection. So Trump is not as crazy as most people think. It's largely for national security to prevent the Russians and Chinese from nefarious designs and using Greenland for military and mercantilist purposes. Greenland's population is too small to defend itself and China is a danger to Greenland through resource mining and environmental pollution. Maybe the best way forward is to incorporate Greenland as a protectorate of the US or a COFA agreement like Micronesia in the Pacific. That way, it can get carefully managed investments from the US and also defense from the US military.

It isn't imperialism. It is an invitation for Greenland to join the US. The leader of Greenland is open to negotiation and will probably make a counter offer for some kind of free association with the US where Greenland is a sovereign state but the US takes responsibility for Greenland's defense and Greenland uses the US dollar. Greenland wants to be independent but true independence isn't possible when your possibility is that small. It could be that Trump just read where Greenland is with Denmark and gave them an alternative. Greenland will probably want to negotiate for US money for infrastructure and investment. Saying the US wanted to purchase Greenland was just trolling because that is obviously absurd. Trump was courting Greenland and will offer them a better deal than Denmark.

Look if you are going to make an argument at least make a logically consistent point otherwise we really cannot have a decent conversation on what is going on. You can’t say one country is tyrannical while ignoring so called tyrannical actions of other countries. You are trying to point out that modern imperialism should no longer happen when it’s been going on since the dawn of time. Just to be clear, for the USA it’s called Manifest Destiny and not Imperialism. If you’re not familiar with this term, look it up. Also, you probably haven’t travelled much of the world but all countries are corrupt to one extent or another. It’s just that some are better hiding it than others.

Greenland 🇬🇱 becoming a part of America is good for both America and Greenland. Also Denmark can save the free money giving every year to Greenland.

This is all in Trump' delusional mind and does not reflect America's view. Don't take it seriously. I live here and everyday is a clown show from King Trump. :)

Half the country voted for him but sure you should be taken seriously because Americans pour their hearts out to you over tech support calls. He got his first scalp - the Governor of the great state of Canada even before taking office. He is using tariffs as negotiating tactics to force Canada and Mexico to comply with his immigration crackdown demands. Panama and Greenland are signals to China.

Oh thank you for adding yourself as a traitor to America we're just waiting to get a complete list so we can send you to the country that you feel most comfortable in as a constitutional republic just doesn't work for you! And the Democratic communist party has been completely crushed with little to know evidence of returning we thank God and we thank Trump every day for that!

To all those bhakts who thought Trump would end the war. Basically he started as way more dangerous than Biden. By the end 2028, those who supported him will end up eating their own words 😂😂😂

American imperialism is a natural tendency of the American state since independence. As the American economy and technology excellence grinds down, imperialism may be much vaunted. What else is left?
