Oh no, seems like you missed the TUNA AUCTION which is the main highlight of the market. It starts very early in the morning and after the auction people are having their breakfast in the restaurants outside. Nevertheless nice video 😊

Thank you.. I think they moved the auction to the new fish market that is not available to the public, but I might be wrong, how long ago did you go? 😀

people go because there were numerous people on youtube who raved. Why they raved? Perhaps they don't know any better, maybe they are being friendly, maybe they want to lend support to the vendor....different strokes for different folk. That's why the most honest reviews are usually the bad reviews. Not because they are being negative but because they are being truthful and telling it like it is. I was one of the few who have been saying Tsukiji is one of the few places people should ignore visiting unless they have nothing else better to spend their time in Tokyo. 98% of the things being sold there are overpriced, mediocre quality, and honestly overrated. I forgot how much I paid for a stall that was claiming to sell wagyu A5 for $40. The quality taste like a goddamn $3 meat. We felt so stupid, like any tourist, for getting ripped off. Didn't realize how much of a rip-off we encountered until we ate at some really good restaurant in Kyoto for a plateful of high-quality real A5 for half the price and double the quantity. Lesson learned, read all positive reviews with a grain of salt.

We 100% agree, sometimes people just follow what other people are saying. For us it was a big disappointment and we wanted to share this. There are so many places that are more interesting and make your Tokyo experience better
