Nice man this was very helpful. So in that case we have to put our kicks very short to get punch through the punch and avoiding clasing between the bass.

Yeah it's nothing to worry about at all! I believe it got spread heavily during the early Big Room days where the kicks actually contain the bassline as well so in that case it was necessary to actually tune it to the key because the kick was also the bass.

In my experience, shortening the kicks does sometimes feel like reducing the lows and ruining the kick, sometimes some kick are way too long. So just be careful in shortening a kick I guess

I mean it depends on how short we are talking but generally sample pack makers always make Kicks rather too long than too short which is obvious because you can always make them short afterwards but not longer :) In my experience shortening Kicks often fixes a lot of low end problems.
