Worked for a local township that my wife's uncle was the superintendent of and once a Year they had a large gathering for all the superintendents and their employees to attend..good food, raffles for hats, coats, equipment displays, new products for highway maintenance and repairs... but the thing that blew my mind was the competition for the grader operators..one challenge was to roll a cats eye marble around safety cones on fresh asphalt without leaving a mark...another one was having an operator lower the blade and use the hydraulic system to completely turn the grader 180° without lifting the blade to readjust...no one did that but some came pretty damn close... great times to be alive

@BrokenSmokinSpokes I watch these videos for the comments more than the video itself. Your comment reminded me of a story my dad told me years ago. He and his friends were cruising and had a motorcycle cop behind them. Differential broke and locked up the rear end. The cop (which was the point of the story) laid his bike down with him on top and came off it running with his gun drawn. He thought initially they had brake checked him (totally valid way to deal with brake checking imo lol). It got sorted...however failures like that 70 years ago weren't uncommon.
@venelprince6889Ай бұрын

Pivot steered the tracks perpendicular on the cars backed almost to the pivot point on the rail car accelerate and jumped off the side of the car (4' drop).a 35 ton track leaving a rail car like that definitely rocks the train car lol.
