The parks don't have invis ped paths because they use "walkable areas" instead, which allow for wider ranging pathing by cims. If you go into the extra landscaping tools tab for areas and select the walkable one you'll see the areas in the park show up. Pink is "hangaround" but the green is the walkable. You can extend those like any other surface (except areas are 3D so you can make flying people happen). If you extend the stuff from the park then the new areas are actually treated as part of the original park, which is nice. Glad you're on the mend. There's a lot of nasties about at the moment.

I honestly think that the size of the school buildings has been wildly over estimated and they don't quite fit in with the size of the houses making it harder to fit them in with the size streets that make a little more sense for what we have all grown up with. Glad to hear that you are feeling better. try some Honey, Lemon and ginger Tea works wonders for the Colds and Flues aiding in a swifter recovery and an excuse to drink more Tea.

Not sure if you realised but you don't need zoning to place parks, even in vanilla. You just have to turn all the snapping off, means you can place them freely, so long as they are close enough to any kind of road. works even when its got the retaining walls. The parks don't even need to be placed directly against the road they can be set back slightly or even on corners (some parks want to be closer to a road than others do). The best part, it works the same for car parks too! Some service and signature buildings can be placed the same way, but can complain more if they have more than 1 entrance or multiple pedestrian connections. (sometimes all you need is a pedestrian path connected to a road to sort it out) The new small elementary school is one you can do almost anything with, can have as many extra buildings you want within the radius, just remember to turn snapping off

Some surfaces will extend beyond their defined shape (like at 15 minutes into your video). This happens often when placing pedestrian paths. What you can do is to grab the point of those surfaces and adjust them. The manipulation points will be a little bit away from the end of the surface. But after moving the point the surface will become inline with the points. In other words, the texture of the surface extends beyond its polygon, but can be fix by adjusting the points.

Extremely tall buildings like that would never be surrounded by small, single-family homes, which would then never be outlined by again, by taller apartments. Those homes in the middle would be dwarfed, lack sunlight, and the entire neighborhood would be very claustrophobic.

Biffa, I'm glad you are feeling better! A suggestion for the park you added and extended: if you use the area tool in the extra landscaping, you can drag the park and hang-around areas to include the new area so that people will see the whole park. I actually quite like the new areas.

I got a great suggestion for New Brewburgh - that new urban area is fantastic, but what about a nice quayside bank running along the tram-roadway that encircles it? I think it would allow for a nice parkland area, maybe with room for shops, that those new residents could enjoy going for walks along!

How do I move around with the mouse I am finding it very difficult getting into this game because it seems that we can only move around with the keyboard (i.e. WSAD). Is it possible to configure the game so that I can use my mouse to Pan using my mouse? If not then why not? I really want to play but I find it too clunky to use.

Finally CS2 is getting there..... needs a little bit of extras but its gettiong there. Question for Biffa ======>>>> How do you deal with excessive amount of traffic when you zone in a new part of the city....... it kills the traffic and economy and i never can get it to go wrighta agaion....????

Basically don't zone HUGE areas all at once, spread it out and then buckle in for the traffic jam. Setting up easy transit to get in (you're gonna get 2 million taxis whatever you do) and make sure your intersection and junctions are set up well. Then do it all again the next expansion! :-)
