If they went with a bullpup design they could have gottten the exact same velocities with regular brass ammunition like 6.5 creedmore since bullpups can offer 18-22" barrels in the same total length

@@davidjob4909 yeah, let's judge the entire platform on outdated first gen bullpups fielded in 1960s and 1970s, that'll show how limited the bullpups design is! Jokes aside, new tech could absolutely push beyond current junk if we actually put money into development instead of letting small, no name companies fail from poor funding and prototyping, like desert tech. While the extra velocity was not needed for 5.56, there's absolutely application for heavy calibers that want velocity for AP qualities
