When I served in the navy, we threw all trash over the fantail. Fish ate the garbage and sharks ate the fish. The best time to swim at sea is when dolphins are around, very safe.
@jaimegarland8856Ай бұрын
You threw “trash” in the ocean ?
@jeffparry2754Ай бұрын
@jaimegarland8856 yes, in the 90's we did. Food and sewage and trash was dumped as normal, but sometimes we dumped bad stuff over the side. From depleted uranium shell casings to old office cabinets to damaged ordinance. We even pushed a forklift off the flight deck, it caught fire and had some magnesium in the pallet it was staging on the deck. Decision was to save the deck so it was pushed over the side.

I was about to reply the same thing. I know damn well this isnt what they uploaded. This is why ppl think certain cartridges are more deadly than they are

OMG, I just love your channel!! My husband and I are really into nature, both on land and sea. This is the third or fourth video I have seen on your channel, so I am going to message my hubby about it. We have a very large TV screen, and it will be huge-almost like being there. I subscribed just a moment into the first video I was watching! You have one of the best voices and the best humor I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. You have been Blessed with some really great social skills. You also educate faster that way. Some people naturally stay calm in the midst of a storm, while others are panickers. Because of the lighthearted way you present the info, it helps, in my eyes, to educate without scaring them off, which, in turn, helps them to remember it if they ever have to put one of your situations to the test... lol I love your little man and all of the other CGI you use. If I ever need to stay awake and/or need a laugh, I will definitely turn to your channel, and it will fix it for sure!!

Poor little Nemo gets shredded up in those propellers😢 but buffet sounds good for sharks😅

Btw, its only a false myth that sharks can smell blood. It's only logic when you think about the fact that a molecule would have to travel through all water to a shark, which obviously makes no sense. 😉
@tpbrowneye2569Ай бұрын
@@c6zaphire289 wow really? i think MAYBE you misunderstood the info or just simply miscommunicated what you were really intending to say, but just in case you didn't know I decided to convey the info anyway: Sharks CAN DETECT a small drop of blood in the water from a distance of up to a quarter of a mile away. People think that Sharks can smell it up to a mile away and THAT is the MYTH; it's not whether or not they can detect blood in the water at all. Their sense of smell is up to 10,000 times more powerful than that of humans. They can even detect blood when it is highly diluted, such as one part per million. the molecules do have to reach the sharks the same way that the odor in the air has to reach a dog's nose, but the strength of their ability to detect the odor and how long it takes the odor to travel is what determines how far away it can be before the shark can pick up on it. Think of how it works in regards to being downwind so your smell doesn't travel in the direction of whatever you're hiding it from, the same would apply for being downstream/down current or whatever the proper term is if there is one.
@samsonsoturian6013Ай бұрын
@@c6zaphire289 Depends which way the current is going. There's an insect out there that can detect a female in heat from a single molecule of her smell. Sharks wouldn't need near that much sensitivity to smell your papercut.
@GildedmuseАй бұрын
@@c6zaphire289It's not a myth they can smell blood, their ability to do so has simply been extremely exaggerating out of all proportion. Place a dead whale in the ocean, see how long it takes a shark to find it. They're not exactly relying on echo location or intuition.

~~Funny, it was just Sunday or Monday I happened hear that sharks follow cruise ships too. Apparently for the scraps they dump do carriers do it as well? ~~There's good chance that shark they showed was likely just c/o all the commotion sensed w/them swimming&messing around etc.? With no intention to prey on any of them? ~~If ever watched The Malibu Artist channel you'd see they have naturally curious nature. ~~People would shit if they saw how often&close sharks were at times? And chance it'd change perception about sharks too? Some Malibu's vids are but one example of this w/them attracted by swimmers&surfers actions in the water. Seeing what it is either turns around or continues course they're on? Sometimes this close to grazing the swimmer treading water at the moment completely unaware it's right there? And Great Whites.
@kennethmullen-qe9hgАй бұрын
Amd his one video also showed that sometimes humans just HAPPEN to be swimming or surfing in the direct line of the pattern the shark happens to be swimmin' lookin' for rays, small fish, and other yummy shark morsels hiding out in the shallows, not caring at all, or even paying attention to the HUMANS, until almost bumping into one, then moving away, almost like it was sayin', "WHOOPS, escuse me, sir or madam...I didn't notice you there!" LmMFaO!!! ;) :P :o)

I've heard that if a great white is killed in an area, the others leave quickly and that makes sense. If, however, there was a tiger shark in the area and it smells a dead great white all that means is free dinner.

Weapon-systems for solid-penetration are the worst choice for hitting targets mere feet underwater; subsonic-dumb-dum-rounds practically dissolve on solid impact, but penetrating water-surface-tension adds so much turbidity that they remain lethal 14-24-inches-deeper than high-percision super-sonic high-caliber rifle.

Imagine the thousands of feet of pitch-black-vertical-headroom available to anything maneuvering undiscovered in the hemisphere called The-Pacific-Ocean: in Latin it translates to, 'The-Shut-The-Fuck-Up-Ocean'; these guys just are just too oblivious to hope the bulwark of their ship thwarts the interests of whatever might otherwise remain undiscovered after sparing no-one.

Only 1 time in my 4 years in the Navy was there a time when our ship thought about giving us a Swim party. Unfortunately, a couple of big sharks showed up and it got canceled. I wasn't going in period.

It is because the propellers actually suck in the fish. They his is how a lot of sailors died in WWII. People would jump overboard and get sucked into the propellers.

Why is it so hard for humans to avoid getting hit by trucks when they're super large and obvious?
@jasonwebb1882Ай бұрын
OK, fish love peoples POOH and if these ships are just letting the human waste go into the water, well fish will follow. Then the sharks for the easy food. Now as far shark attacks. Florida has the most recorded shark attacks every year. So to say that shark attacks are rare, I'd have to strongly disagree. On to bullets go through water. You mean to tell me the movies have lied to they lie. Lol

When they were flying clipper ships those guys that were the crew on those their skin was like leather hopping off in washing up in saltwater probably didn't bother them at all I mean you get the mist of the water coming on you there's salt there yeah they have salt on them all the time back when they had the clipper ships and that so yeah that didn't bother them at all
