Also the mark of negation is to nerf him inside the trials, not in all of the realm, which means the Entity can pretty much do what it wants with Vecna. He's not on his level and probably will never be.

This works so well since D&D also has an evil fog realm in Ravenloft which contains powerful beings as well so this concept blends in perfectly. Since escaping the fog there is just as deadly as the Entity in DBD.

Speaking on the behalf of the survivors, their lore is actually accurate to the spirit of DND. You mentioned with the perks how they capture the feeling of playing the game, and I feel it’s very accurate that this troupe would go out looking for trouble; won’t most parties do the same? Also in the new video you mentioned that the perks break the immersion of the game. If it was old dbd I’d agree, but we’re in the age where Chucky can chase a Rainbow Six Siege operator.

I actually just love him thematically and all. I know some people doubted, but he really is a breath of fresh air for me. Gotta disagree that Alien wasn't done incredibly well to the source material. In my opinion xeno is done incredibly well for what you could do. At least to make them a longlasting killer. The tunnel system is amazing. And it makes sense as we see the xenos make tunnels in the films. The tail whip. While in game is anti-loop is annoying. It's still faithful to how the xeno is. It shouldn't use facehuggers or anything outside. Because it is the ultimate organism itself. Meaning all it needs is its survival instincts as in tunnels. And it's perfect anatomy. It's tail and claws. Just my opinion tho! Amazing video pixel!

honestly the only ability that regular Xenomorphs have that DBD really skipped out on was climbing, something which would probably be incredibly hard to balance, especially on indoor maps where it would be able to climb on the ceiling. climbing on walls and ceilings might be enough to be an entire power in its own right. the number 1 issue I have with Xenomorphs is that it got its own little world from its vents whilst Demogorgon didn't get a proper Upside Down from its portals, and that's more of an issue with Demogorgon than an issue with the Xenomorph itself.

I definitely would not say that The Entity is on par with an Overdeity. Complete control of their personal plane, and influence extending out to other planes, is very much in the wheelhouse of most Greater Deities that have their own planes. And I don't think the Entity's small outer influence having a wider reach inherently makes it stronger. The Entity may seem immensely powerful in comparison to the regular people that make up the majority of the Realm's population, but saying its on par with something that can create entire pantheons of fully-fledged gods is a bit silly.

True, most major deities in DND have their own realms, exist across multiple realms, and would not have any of the issues the entity has had with the killers it has grabbed. Vecna escaped the grasp of dark entities before(Revenloft), who held multiple extremely powerful evil beings prisoner casually(we are talking death knight lords, liches, master vampires, Psychic Elderbrains, and ancient mummies all caged.) So think you pushed the Entity a bit up there. Most DND major Deities in DND are multiversal by default, and Vecna has survived their efforts to eradicate him or cage him. Not saying he can beat or versus the Entity, but he is not without threat or even unable to leave. Also the Entitiy has not shown the ability to completely rob any being of it's power, just alter it. Much weaker killers have broke into it's realm an exhibit powers that are not fully under the Entity's power.

I dunno about this characterisation of the entity. Yes it has access to other universes and can produce it's own universe, but that doesn't strictly exceed the bounds of a D&D deity. The entity isn't seemingly universal in scope because then it wouldn't need to engineer trials to sustain it, the trial would encompass the entire universe if it were on that scale. It probably does outmatch Vecna but that doesn't mean it can successfully contain him, and Vecna is playing the long game, to see if he can take the entity's power, or at least harness some of it. Vecna may currently be at a disadvantage but his understanding will deepen in the entity's realm over time, being presumably the most intelligent character in there to our knowledge. If others have been able to harness the realms power, Vecna surely will exceed even this which could become a real pain for the entity. Also, Vecna isn't necessarily prevented from simply leaving the realm since he can travel between universes, with suitable preparation. Even if he found nothing of value in the realm, there should be no strict expectation that the entity can keep him there. Kinda feels like you're exaggerating the entity's scope, though I guess this is probably a case of "my fandom beats your fandom" from both ends.

Another thing I thought of in regards to the entity's power over Vecna; there is very little evidence to suggest that the entity is restricting Vecna's access to magic. Yes the weave is the source of magic in a D&D world but the nature of the weave is incredibly ambiguous and it's unclear if it's a multiversal constant or not. Vecna could simply be handicapping himself to make the trials into an actual challenge.

I understood the survivor's intentions as a quest born out of well founded paranoia. After all if the entire history of your world is one of ever present evil and triumphant heroes than a sudden noticeable change in the scales would be alarming. Especially for a long lived elf who has seen these stories play out again and again. It would be easy for paranoia to grow. Are these forces of evil conspiring with one another? Is something unknown hunting them down and if so what for? If it were the work of heroic adventurers than why the secrecy? The only reasonable thing to do at that point is to try and find out what happened. Because if even a deity has gone missing what kind of horror could possibly be on the horizon?

even in Stranger Things itself they're pretty transparent about the fact that the Demogorgons, Mind Flayer (often called Illithids in D&D), and Vecna are all being named after enemies from the group's D&D games. Vecna is the only one that even vaguely resembles the D&D version. the Stranger Things Mind Flayer is a much bigger and scarier threat compared to D&D Illithids (the Stranger Things Mind Flayer would probably be more analogous to an Elder Brain, which are generally the leaders of an Illithid colony). the Stranger Things Demogorgons are absolutely nothing compared to the D&D Demogorgon (which is a god-like Demon Prince with two heads that can drive people insane just by making eye contact with them).

Frustratingly, this chapter isn't even out yet and I already want another magic killer with 4 more spells. Tho I'm certain that much like RE this'll sell like hotcakes and we'll get a second D&D crossover in a year or 2. How I'd fix the bards is keep them as two separate characters, have the lass be a bit deluded by her ideals and go out casting a mix of charm and command on other adventurers to get them to follow her "noble quest of figuring out where all the BBEGs went" and the guy be like "no wait hang on what are you doing"? and rush after her. I'd even have made him a different class with 3 additional perks, but that was clearly beyond BHVRs scope this time around.

The funny part is mordenkainen the arch wizard, believes that the multiverse must be balanced with good and evil and law and chaos, and if there was ever one side overtaking the other it would throw the multiverse out of balance and it would collapse on itself. Behavior could have gave Aestri and Baermar that motive, that they feared if to much evil left the world the cosmic scales would shift and destroy the multiverse so they went to investigate.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Beyblade when talking about all the franchises that Hasbro has under their belt. If you ask me, the previous two generations of Beyblade - The Metal Fusion era and Beyblade Burst - are a perfect example of how Hasbro's been bleeding money in recent years. You see, during the later half of both generation's lifespans, Hasbro made the buckwild decision to nerf and cheapen their Beyblade products, which essentially means that those who only had access to Hasbro in the West were stuck having to deal with products that objectively inferior to what Takara Tomy sells in Japan. And it wasn't quick, either. It was a slow and agonizing decline in quality, with the company's treatment of Beyblade Burst being the most egregious example I can think of when describing corporate greed in general. Dozens of well-beloved Beyblades in this particular generation had their unique gimmicks - Hell, their souls, even - stripped away in favor of only mildly entertaining stadium gimmicks that did little to spice up the core gameplay loop of Beyblade. And this process only got worse overtime, to the point that Hasbro's QuadDrive and QuadStrike series of Beyblades can be unironically described as borderline McDonald's quality toys. Unsurprisingly, the fans - myself included, although I was initially unaware of this song and dance happening back in the Metal Saga - were rightfully pissed off about Hasbro being cheap on them for the second time in a row, and so they either refused to buy their products, or chose to import Takara Tomy Beyblades from overseas, which eventually tore a hole into Hasbro's wallet that couldn't be ignored; no matter how hard they tried to gaslight the uneducated into thinking the dip in quality was a good thing. And much like how you said that this D&D chapter is Hasbro's desperate attempt to squeeze more money out of the franchise, the newest and current generation of Beyblade (Beyblade X) is being released in the West for the exact same reasons; the products are made 1-to-1 with Takara Tomy (as they should be) and are virtually identical, albeit with minor differences between both companies. Of course for Hasbro, the high quality here is done solely for the intention of retaining their Western fanbase, rather than them actually giving a damn about said fanbase. And it further shows in their exclusive Beyblades for Beyblade X. All of the ones that are scheduled to release June 1st are literal reskins of pre-existing Beyblades. And while that's a small thing compared to everything else I just described, it still comes off as incredibly lazy and uncaring on their end. Point is, Hasbro sucks ass, and D&D isn't their only victim. And it certainly won't be their last one, either. - - - If you made it to the end of this autistic ramble, then I have to say thanks for taking the time to read all of this! Beyblade's one of several special interests I have, and I felt the mention of Hasbro's meddling with D&D in this video was a golden opportunity for me to provide an additional perspective on the company's money-grubbing antics.

Ok about that whole Pinkterton debacle, I think its hilarious that they took THAT step, when Games Workshop had an almost identical thing happen like TWO WEEKS EARLIER and they literally just said fuck it, cats out of the bag, and bumped the release up a month. Someone legally bought a Dante miniature and when they got it in the mail, it was actually the unreleased UNREVEALED Primaris Dante. GW replied with: well shit, guess we'll ship it to stores now then.

Hey, D&D enthusiast here. I love the video, but do wish you would do passes watching your uploads with captions on, so you could see how jarring the caption misalignments are. As someone with difficulty hearing, I rely on those. Forgotten Realms invented a bunch of stuff that you’re treating as universal to D&D like The Weave and Elminster, even going so far as to say D&D is a singular IP when it’s a collection thereof. There are so many settings besides Greyhawk and Faerun, such as Dark Sun, Eberron (which is thematically defined by no deity-grade forces that can be proved or contacted, which is why I’m so bothered about setting crossovers), and the stock 4e setting that has no official name but is commonly referred to as Points of Light / the Nentir Vale. As far as calling what Vecna’s power does to pallets _mage hand_, I feel like it’s more apt to call it _Bigby’s hand_, or even _unseen servant_, except that it is very much seen. Thank you for talking about the business angle of D&D for people who may not know.

The issue with this is that the entity doesn’t fully comprehend stuff. Vecna does. And is immensely intelligent beyond what the scope of the agragore that the entity is. The entity has unlimited power but is rudiment.. The mark of the entity probably does do something to Vecna but he probably allows it and could literally break out whenever he wants to. You also have to remember this isn’t the actual Vecna either but essentially is just an avatar form he assumes.

The Entity does seem intelligent, it knows exactly how to torture killers and survivors in specific ways to break their souls completely: it mimicked and disguised itself as Alice to lure Alan into The Fog, it suffocates The Nurse with the pillowcase, it put the hooks in The Trapper’s back and fixed the head brace onto The Doctor, not to mention the add-ons.

Of the killers you mentioned you will be discussing in the next video, I feel like you have described why you don't like Freddy and the Xenomorph pretty in-depth before on the channel and not Nemesis, so maybe it's most likely to be him off the perspective of just being something you haven't spoken about... ...bbbut, on the other hand, Freddy Krueger's implementation is so bad relative to the potential of the character that he's easily Dead by Daylight's biggest disappointment and he, hands down, needs a rework more than any other killer in the game.
