Why did Vermithor choose Hugh Hammer In House of the dragon season 2 episode 7?
In House of the Dragon season 2, episode 7, Vermithor chooses Hugh Hammer as his new rider, and it’s not just because Hugh has dragon blood. After losing Rhaenys and Meleys, Rhaenyra is really eager to find new riders for the dragons that are still without them on Dragonstone. In House of the Dragon season 2, episode 6, Seasmoke chooses Addam as his new rider, rather than the other way around. Following this, the Queen invites Targaryen bastards to Dragonstone to try and ride Vermithor and Silverwing. Only two of them succeed: Hugh Hammer and Ulf White.

When the first illegitimate Targaryen finally dares to touch Vermithor, chaos breaks out. The dragon unleashes fire on many of the "dragonseeds." They scatter, and some are burned, crushed, or even eaten by the "Bronze Fury." Hugh Hammer eventually finds the courage to stand in front of Vermithor, drawing the dragon’s attention away from a woman who was about to be burned.

Glad I'm not the only that saw this. I said a few days ago in comment on another vid. "I think that throwing that many people in front of the fury was the mistake. I think he was pissed at the offensive gesture of "here just pick one." But then the Hammer displayed his nature, and he was like, "This one, i will have this one. We understand each other". Vermathor was said to be very tolerable and accustomed to people. They just disrespected that tolerance." I think that's why he didn't just say no and kill the one in front of him, but decided to devour the room. As where Sea Smoke said no, burned the the presented potential rider in rejection and killed a Pit handler as collateral. Who I will quickly point out, was clearly trained for when that happens as he immediately pulled out his dagger and slit his own throat. Glad I'm not the only that saw this.

Hugh mother was definitly the trueborn daugther of jeahearys and allysanne, why would they describe his mom to be exactly like her and even trow in the line about him not being any different than deamon and viserys if it was just some bastard, moreover jeahearys has never been described as the type to go around siring bastars in either the book or show and I don't think they want to imply that.
