Have to admit, never watched this show before now: Everyone's talking about Gigi etc but I'm blown away by the ferocity and passion of Mayowa Nicholas, gushing about her gold choker and feeling like a goddess as she walked in that pink leather-trimmed dress?! She didn't just wear the dress, she embodied what it means to be a Versace woman! Some of these looks made my heart stutter, they were so beautiful. Such a beautiful tribute to the beauty Gianni left as his legacy.

The title is so lazy. Vogue, stop pretending that these established brands with billions backing them are the pinnacle of fashion. Just because they have name recognition and market share, does not mean that they are as innovative as you would like us to believe they are. Find bright new designers. Go to the fashion schools and shed light on what they are doing. So much talent goes unnoticed because you would rather highlight the same boring designers that have been on your pages for the last 30 years. Anna, we see through this.

I've always looked at these fashion shows as designers displaying their art that inspires trends and our everyday attire. It's beautiful but not something your average person is going to wear.
@mintaellectual11494 жыл бұрын
yeah thats exactly the point, its mean to be like a future fashion inspiratipn or sumn. If you look at 1992 fashion show, most clothes they wear on runway looks like something we wear on a daily basis , but back then its relatively new. So i assume the fashion shows running now will inspire our new normal in the future who knows
A lot of people buy parts of these looks and style them differently. Thats the fun in fashion to me. You can take one of these shirts or dresses and manipulate it however you please.
@FC-hj9ub4 жыл бұрын
Obviously not , that's the point
@daynal95944 жыл бұрын
@@FC-hj9ub eh not entirely in my opinion. I don't think these designers (a good majority of them) have the average person in mind when designing and then showing off their creations at these shows and aren't aiming to inspire because they know Hollywood is gonna drop some big bucks to wear their art to special events. Just because eventually trends are inspired by them...well, I don't think that is their initial plan. What I meant was the way that I perceive them (lol the average person).

Sorry, all this proves is that you can't go back. These clothes look like cheap Walmart knock offs of the 80s & 90s. Also, the models of the supermodel era, were in a league of their own, none of these girls can touch them. The clothes were these girls, the supermodels wore the clothes, gave them class and context. Which was essential with Versace whose aesthetic always veered towards the tacky - the high-class, platinum sheen of the supermodels took the clothes to another level - which even back in the day was obvious when you saw the clothes worn by normal women, the looked tacky.

But why do they use webcam quality microphones. Send nice microphones to your video content creators 🙄 and expand the department generally - paper is dead. Especially post-COVID ??? Would be nice to see more retrospectives, influential fashion moments, behind-the-scenes of the 00’s, 90’s, 80’s, deep dives into the history of different design houses. Be an authority on fashion’s history and document it’s progression as it’s happening to stay forward-thinking. Compare trends of the past to the way they’re being reinterpreted now. I dunno we’ve seen every celebrity do their makeup at this point. 73 questions is still fun sometimes. No life or risk taking at Vogue anymore.
