I bought a 2004 s60R. With 55k miles on it in 2023 for 18k. I know i over paid for it but it's my second one and i love it. I know it inside and out.

I bought a Volvo S60 T5 2003 5 years ago for $1,700 . I can sell it today for $8,000 but will hang onto it. Great seats,stereo, power, safety. Still feels like an $80,000 car

Maby not double but I think they definitly are going up in price, especially for one in good condition and in a nice color combo. I bought a flashgreen/atacama V70R that I am currently restoring.

four years ago I got a Volvo c30 2.4I MT for 3400$ with 120k KM. after two years I sold it for 6500$ and got a Volvo c30 T5 MT with 115k KM. same car now is being sold for 12k to 15k

i recently bought a 2000 v70r phase 3 , it needs work but is rare, it came from an estate along with a 73 p1800es shooting brake.

Love the video and totally agree. these cars are severely undervalued given their uniqueness, rarity and the fact that its 300 HP, AWD, active chassis, and 4 piston brembos all around. its hard to find anything else around that price with those features! one thing to note about buying a tuned/modified R - it does depend on the tune and whether or not they kept ther 4T4 or swapped for a T5. many people who tune have swapped for T5s in the volvo community...its increasingly more common now. the T5 bottom end has been shown to put down 500 WHP reliably with stock pistons and rods. unopened. If you find a modified R with a 2.3/2.4 bottom end its a gem.

i bought a s60r last year. drove it twice and have almost 8 grand into it in parts including new turbo new engine and mostly everything to do with that. please double my money

@@Fat_Petrolhead before i bought it i scanned it drove it and everything was good even had my brother who has way more experience come with me. the body is perfect just they didnt take care of the engine which i coudlnt tell without opening it. great cars just dont always get treated right so gives the next owner these problems.

too complex for most, they are at quite a high price again here in the uk, dont think theyll get higher in price from now which is around 8K for a clean japanese import

@@Fat_Petrolhead idk, the 850R isn't worth much here, as with the T-5R, picked mine up for less than 5k, could probably get 15k now if I am lucky

You’ll spend as much or more than you’ll profit in 5 years lol. I’ve already dumped a few grand into mine and it’s still not where I want it. Nice cars though

I'm eyeballing a 2008 V70R Japanese import with just 22000 KMS =13670 miles for $22,000 Canadian = $16,113 US funds. looks good but I'm worried because it's a Right hand drive. Should I be concerned at that price?

First, more than 50% Japanese specs cars are a big fraud, especially when it is 20yo cars with minimal mileage. Will make a video on this, but want to find a car and show it. If you are sure in the mileage, buying RHD can be ok option for weekend car but within this budget I think you can find a great condition LHD, maybe you just need to wait a little bit. Also you can visit any car meet of owners and maybe make an offer there.

I also agree. I own an S60R M66 in Flash Green. I love it. But I do not think it will hold its money (sadly)

Nahhh nobody wants that four cylinder ricer trash. Maybe if you v8 or v10 swap it. Theres just nothing special about the 240 and 740 besides that it is boxy and old.
